View 1 RepliesI am creating nested accordion using the object model and have created buttons in the inner accordion's accordion pane. The buttons look great but issue is that the buttons does not fire thier click event. They just do the postback of the page and ignore the event.
I want to show a pop-upextender on the pre_init event but all my panes are added dynamically so it does not give any rows.

A little confused on something. I have a User Control in a master page. In the User Control there are image buttons. when I try to wire any click event even to say update a label in the User Control itself, nothing gets updated.
It is as if the postback is not handled at all.
What I want to do is click the image button in the User Control and then change a value in the master page. This could happen a few ways but for example it could update a public property or a control itself like a textbox or label.
I am fairly new to the asp.net and experimenting with it to learn the page life cycle. Here is a problem that I have been unable to resolve for past few days.
I have a hosting page (.aspx). Then I have two user controls (.ascx). The page has a place holder control in which it loads the user controls one at a time based on the application flow. First user control is loaded on application start up. It has a "continue" button. Continue button click loads the Second user control that has two buttons - "Back" and "Submit". Obviously the "Back" button should load the first user control again and Submit button should submit the form data. Pretty simple.
The problem is that the command button event handler that I have on the second user control is not firing the first time. (I have one event handler for both buttons). The load event of the user control fires but then it ignores the button click. If I click it again, then it fires. I re-load the controls on the page in every page_load. Here is some relevent code:
AddPlayer.aspx:
[Code]....
The page_Load fires every time but "CommandBtn_Click" doesn't fire after the first click. I have to do it click it again. It doesn't matter which order I click the buttons.

View 6 RepliesBackground: I am customizing an existing ASP .NET / C# application. It has it's own little "framework" and conventions for developers to follow when extending/customizing its functionality. I am currently extending some of it's administrative functionality, to which the framework provides a contract to enforce implementation of the GetAdministrationInterface() method, which returns System.Web.UI.Control. This method is called during the Page_Load() method of the page hosting the GUI interface.
Problem: I have three buttons in my GUI, each of which have been assigned an Event Handler. My administration GUI loads up perfectly fine, but clicking any of the buttons doesn't do what I expect them to do. However, when I click them a second time, the buttons work.
I placed breakpoints at the beginning of each event handler method and stepped through my code. On the first click, none of the event handlers were triggered. On the second click, they fired.
Example of Button Definition (within GetAdministrationInterface)
[Code]....
I have write the code in .Net. When I click the Buttun then fired below event.
protected void ddldesignation_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Code.
}
I have a Web Form that contains a Web Control. This control has several buttons on it and one in particular requires that I click it twice before the Click Event fires. The settings are all the same for the buttons but just not sure what to look for.
View 7 RepliesOne of my webpages has an asp.net ListView control, with an insertitem template defined. I would like to allow the users of the page to enter data in a text field in the insertitem template, press the enter key, and trigger the insert event (which normally happens when you click the 'insert' button). I've tried simulating the button click event in javascript, but that doesn't seem to be working.
View 2 RepliesI have a User Control that has been added to the page dynamically. When I click a button on that user control:
The button_click event is NOT being raised
The page posts back
The user control is removed from the page
Here's the button-click event on my User Control:
Protected Sub btnAddAttribute_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnAddAttribute.Click
Try
Dim attrName As String = txtAddAttributeName.Text
Dim attrValue As String = txtAddAttributeValue.Text
'ADD ATTRIBUTE TO ATTRIBUTE TABLE
putSQLData("INSERT INTO OD_Attribute_Values (AttributeName, AttributeValue) VALUES('" & attrValue & "', '" & attrName & "'")...........
In ASP.NET My button click event doesn`t work on first click. But it works on the second click only.
View 1 RepliesI have a LoginView element in an Update panel and use JQuery to hide the div containing the update panel when the cancel button(Html) is clicked.
It works fine normally. However, when I enter an invalid password and there is an error message displayed, the Javascript attached to the Cancel button click stops firing.

i have a problem with my dynamic button.
This is my scriptcode, i would like to create a dynamic Listbox and a dynamic button. But after click on this button, the event in addressOf btnListEinfuegen_Click is doing nothing. It does not run.

what ist wrong in my script? Why does my button not fire?
i have a JQuery ui dialog box that opens up as a contact form when a link is clicked, which works fine, my problem is trying to submit the information.
When you click the send button it fires a button click event of another asp:button ive got hidden on the page...
the post back event fires and the page reloads but the asp:button click event doesn't not fire?
Heres my code:
asp:Button is as follows:

Am I doing someting wrong,my event only seem to fire when I click the button,but the text-box does not cause a postback.

I have a user control that displays some database records when I first hit the page. When I click the submit button the page load event fires again, loading the user control again. Then the button click event fires inserting a new row in the database which is not shown on the page because the user control already did its stuff. If I could get the user control to do its stuff after the button click event I could then see the newly inserted row. I can do this by pulling the code out of the button click event and sticking it in the page load event. However, I think that would be bad code flow. How can I get the user control to do its stuff after the button click event has fired?
View 7 RepliesHere is what i am trying to do I have a multiview and two views in it so based on click event the link the views change
[code]....
apparently they are not firing on first try. The reason i am doing this is the two views have tables with different images to be used in building my menu.
What am i doing wrong? or why is the click event firing on second try?
I have a blank user control (child) and during Page_Load i create some text boxes and a button. I also add an event to the button.
I then load that user control dynamically from a placeholder in another usercontrol (parent). Both controls are rendered correctly but when i click on the button, the event isnt fired. how to handle the event?
Child code:
[code].....
If i use the child control directy (ie without the parent the control) the click event is raised and handled nicely. But when i use the parent control, the debugger wont even hit a breakpoint inside UpdateButton_Click().
I am adding some dynamic image buttons to a form in my code behind (vb.net) and added a click event handler, but it never fires. Also when I click on a button the page posts back and everything below my update panel disappears.

Here is my aspx page code.

I have a form with several submit buttons. I would like the button's click events to fire when enter is pressed based on which textboxes currently have focus. I am able to specify one button using the code below by adding the onkeydown event to the body of the page and checking for Enter's keyCode
<body onkeydown="if(event.keyCode==13){document.getElementById('btnSearch').click();}">
</body>
I assume this code can be modified or call a function to perform a conditional to see if txtSearch or txtSubmit has focus and specify btnSearch or btnSubmit accordingly, but I am not experienced with javascript.
I want to call Textbox.OnTextChange event without having to click a submit button or any button. How can I do this? As I enter text in the textbox, I want the ontextchange event to fire.
I would elaborate this further.I've a function for validating my entry in textbox which I'm calling ontextchange property.Now this function should be called without me changing focus from my textbox.
I have a webpage in which I an dynamically creating a button control for a shopping cart. The cart is made using HTMLTable. In the same procedure that builds the table, I create my button call "btnAddToCart". I have also added a "WithEvents" for this button in the page;
Here is the code pertaining to all references of the "btnAddToCart".
Code:
WithEvents btnAddToCart as Button
Private Sub BuildCart()
.
.
[Code]...
I'm actually loading a productID into the "ToolTip" property of the button. In the click event of the btnAddToCart, the code is not being executed when I set a breakpoint.
I have a web page that contains a couple of button controls. The page is pretty simple, just trying to add a record to the DB. When I click the Submit button, every function/procedure that is supposed to be executed does execute except the Button Click Event. I've checked to make sure all occurrencs of the control are named correctly in the code-behind as well as the javascript. I've set the debugger to debug every function/procedure as well and nothing happens. Why this would occur.
