Javascript - How To Load An Image Asynchronously

Jul 27, 2010

On the home page of my site I want to display a lot of products which have images which are quite large. Currently the page is taking so long to load that it is actually timing out and the page fails to display!

In MVC, or just ASP.NET in general, how can I load an image asynchronously? Basically what I want to do is display the details of the product and just display a small loading image e.g. until the image is loaded.

I assume this is going to require some javascript/jQuery...

How To Load An GridView From Multiple Sources Asynchronously

Jan 1, 2010

Here is the situation. I need to hit ~50 servers and grab some data from a file. I then want to display a few rows for each in an ASP.NET GridView control.

I tried doing this with Threads/ThreadPool and successfully gather all the data in session.

What I'd like to do, and what I am having a hard time figuring out, is update the grid for the user after each server is done loading.

If I put the databinding code in the thread, it will only display whatever has loaded by the time the response is sent back to the client. If I take it out of the thread, I'd have to wait until all threads were done to send the response, and that doesn't do what I want.

I seeing some stuff about Asynchronous Client Callbacks, but I'm not sure if that's what I need to be using. I have no idea how to manipulate a GridView from Javascript.

Jquery - Load And Show Data Asynchronously?

Feb 9, 2011

I am using ASP.NET and SQL Server. I would like to load data from database asynchronously and show data which are partially loaded immediately.Suppose there are tons of records in a query result. After 3 sec,It loads 20% then I have to process and show 20% data immediately, not waiting for complete response. I know $.Ajax in jQuery to load data async. Is it possible to process partial response, Not wait for complete response and show it immediately.

Asynchronously Bind Multiple Repeaters On Page Load

Jun 11, 2012

I have four repeaters, that are all independent to each other. They all bind via web services on page load and then display the results.

There is a noticeable delay however and I would like to know how to achieve the following if possible.

On page load I want to begin asynchronously binding the repeaters so that as soon as the first one is bound, its result display and then the next starts binding.

I looked at update panels but from what I have read they do not have a page load trigger.

Load XMLdocument Asynchronously Or Asynchronous 3rd Party Service Call?

Dec 21, 2010

I am using a third party service for location time(zonal).If I pass latitude and longitude of the location with service URL it returns the time of that location in XML format.But the problem is some of the time this service gets too much slow so because of that my home page gets stuck because its a synchronous call of that my code-

string TimeZoneUrl = "";
XmlDocument xmlDoc = new XmlDocument();
xmlDoc.Load(TimeZoneUrl + "lat=" + latitude + "&lng=" + longitude);
XmlElement root = xmlDoc.DocumentElement;
XmlNodeList nodes = root.SelectNodes("//*");

How can I make this a asynchronous call?

Web Forms :: Load Blurred Image Before Full Load?

Mar 23, 2010

Have a look at below link. In that page if you mouse over on any thumbnail image a div opens with that image details with larger size. But there is a point to notice usually when an image gets downloaded in the browser we see that the image loads in parts from top to bottom. In this case the whole is loaded but in blurred state and gets cleared after fully downloaded.

I just wanted to know how this is achived? Does it require to code something or it is any javascript or dhtml?

I'm still a basic user of ASP.NET and i'm trying to figure out how can i use the FileUpload control to give an uploaded image to the Image control.

The FileUpload control doesn't have an OnClick() event so when i hit Upload i don't know what happens with the uploaded file in the back.

what i'm trying to do is choose a file with the FileUpload control, preview it in the Image control and then save it in an SQL Server 2008 database in an "image" field.

Load Image Path In Code?

Jan 6, 2011

in my source view of my web page I am using some images. Right now I use the code:

HTML Code:
<img class="smallIcon" src="skins/itsoft-images/small-icon.png" alt="Small Icon" width="20px" height="20px" />
I use this image many times in my pages, as well as other images. I don't want to use a path like this because if I ever change the location of the images, I will have to update a hundred pages.I would like to place the path to the image in my web.config file, and have the code load from there. I'm use to doing it in PHP but I can't figure it out in .Net.

Something like:

HTML Code:
<img class="smallIcon" src="<%@ ICON_FILE_DIR %>" alt="Small Icon" width="20px" height="20px" />
Is that even possible?

Load An Image From The Server In A Web Application In C#?

Mar 30, 2011

I actually have a C# winform application which load images from my computer C://images/... with the Image object and the function Fromfile.

but in my web application (ASP)

<asp:Image ID="viewPhoto" runat="server" Width="550px" Height="400px"/>

I use the attribute ImageURL.

viewPhoto.ImageURL = Path

But the problem is that it doesn't find the correct path because with this way. The path will be http://localhost:3656/C://images....

I would like to load an image directly from my server to have the correct path for both of my applications.(web ASP and winform)

This actually doesn't work because the program doesn't find any photo in this path.

Query To Retrieve Binary Image On Load?

Sep 21, 2010

Is there such a thing? So for eample, on my image load I have the following hooked up to a table where "Image" is a binary image set of data.

protected void Image1_Load1(object sender, EventArgs e)
myent logo = new myent();
var query = (from p in logo.tblLogoes
where p.Id == id && p.Id2 == id2
select p.Image).First();
return query.

What do I need to return here to populate the image? I have funny feeling, it's not going to be as simple as that.

Why Doesn't 3.5 Always Load An External JavaScript

Oct 10, 2010

I have an external JavaScript in an 3.5 project. While writing different functions, sometimes the JavaScript is loaded into FF and sometimes it is not (based on FireBug) and the JavaScript does not run.
Even if there is an error in the JS it should still load or be visible to the browser, right?

What is the logic behind when it is loaded and when it doesn't load (or is accessible to the browser?)

Master Page loads JS from a script directory in project:
