Now we have added a session timer of 30 min but the users are complaining that they are facing a problem when they write a long text message or while composing they get busy in something else and when they return back to continue composing message , they are redirected to a session expiry page, and their long text message is gone forever. So I am new to this and I was thinking like , when the user is in compose message the text should be automatically saved to drafts like hotmail.
View 1 RepliesI have a simple webApplication. Now I have a second webapplication with few web aspx pages. When I build each project I get aspx files with 1 dll per project.
Now the structure of the first webApplication is like this
inwebapplication1.dll
Default.aspx
Is it possible to load the dll of the second application dynamically and put its dll into the bin directory. The result will be something like this:
inwebapplication1.dll
inwebapplication2.dll
Default.aspx
application2default.aspx
The problem is that when I try to open application2default.aspx the compiler is throwing an error that it cannot find the class for that particular page because the assembly inwebapplication2.dll is not loaded. I tried to load the assembly from the web config like this <add assembly="myassemly, Version=1.0.0.0, PublicKeyToken=null, Culture=neutral"/> and also from the code like this Assembly.LoadFrom( @"D:Projectsinmyassemly.dll" ); OR Assembly.Load( "myassemly, Version=1.0.0.0, PublicKeyToken=null, Culture=neutral" ); but I still have no success. Can u tell me what is the logic here with the assembly load?
I have a custom model validator on a particular property. It shows the error at the top (in the Html.EnableClientValidation section). However, it does not show the message next to the field, even though I have a corresponding ValidationMessageFor call that does successfully show the DataAnnotation violations associated with the property. Are messages returned through ModelValidator.Validate supposed to show buy the field like the DataAnnotation messages do?
If so, is it a problem in that my container actually has a list of these objects that i'm validating? (And somehow we are missing the prefix in ModelValidationResult.MemberName?) I had that theory, but hardcoding the correct name like this example did not make it better:

I have two required field validators, which trigger on a checkbox's OnCheckedChanged event....now my problem is, when I hit submit, the page does not submit if I do not enter any values in the text boxes..which is correct behavior but it does not point out to the error or does not display the message box...i have to scroll up to see what is wrong with he page and then try to enter the values...I do not understand why my message box does not show up or at least why my setfocusonerror which is set to true does not show me the text boxes. find my code below.....

I'm using Data Annotations to validate my fields, Eventhough field is marked with Required Attribute the DropdownList/ListBox Value doesn't fire up to show they are required. how can I solve this.

I just watched the video on PluralSight and was just following along with the example. I created my own Movie and MovieRepository objects. I then created a strongly typed view for adding a new movie. This is what's in the view:

If I click submit without entering anything in the input field, I get validation messages i.e. The Rating field is required or if I enter non-numeric data, I get The field Rating must be a number.
I didn't wire this and wanted to understand where this is coming from.
I have a textbox with a required field validator and two buttons .One to save and other to cancel the action. On clicking the cancel button i am clearing the text entered in textbox.
The required filed validators is working on the save button if the textbox is empty. But on my cancel button click the required field validators message is blinking .

I specially has used hotmail and I like its autocomplete for To Address. It works very nice like it not only shows saved contacts but also suggests address on which I have sent email but they are not saved in contacts.
The most important thing is it is very fast. It is not ajaxtoolkit's automcplete what is this control.

I send automated mails to hotmail users. (thank you for your registration bla bla)Because plain text doesn't look attractive enough, I use HTML with images. The images reside on a public webserver.
As SMTP server I use the SMTP part of IIS 7.5 (windows 2008 R2). I have an SPF record setup in the DNS. I have also read http://tinisles.blogspot.com/2009/09/sending-dkim-email-from-c.html and found out that sending mail with the SMTP service and a DKIM signature cannot be done properly without an external commercial component. So I do not have such thing (yet).
Now that is all about my background and here is the problem:I have this in my HTML:

But when users get am e-mail like that and view it in hotmail. (chrome, IE, safari etc.) and when they hover the link they will see that the url is http://www.mydomain.com but when they click on it. It redirects to:
http://www.mydomain.com/mail/InboxLight.aspx/404.aspx?msg=The%20file%20'/mail/InboxLight.aspx'%20does%20not%20exist
what am I doing wrong? Is it an SMTP/IIS server setting? Did I forget something in my Asp.Net C# code when I have send the mail? Did I forget something in the DNS or HTML markup? The link works perfectly when I receive the mail in my Outlook 2010 where the domain is also added to the safelist.

This code works perfectly when the mail is read with Outlook. People get a clickable link which brings them to the right page. But the same mail read in Hotmail (or any webmail site) provides a non-clickable link.
I also tried with:
