I'm working on a portal, and I need to check users conection on the ldap.
And if users are members of a special group then it works.
I've exactly used this link to make it works : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff649227.aspx (almost work)
My point is : my ldap path seems good, no error anymore, when I log with my username and password.But when I querry it, it returns null, but I'm sure my user is in the group :
// Bind to the native AdsObject to force authentication. Object obj = entry.NativeObject; DirectorySearcher search = new DirectorySearcher(entry); search.Filter = "(SAMAccountName=" + username + ")"; search.PropertiesToLoad.Add("cn"); SearchResult result = search.FindOne(); if(null == result) { return false; }
I'm a normal user, i test with my account. I'm a member of the group that I'm looking for.
var query = from emp in dbEmp.Employees join dept in dbEmp.Departments on emp.DeptID equals dept.DeptID where dept.DepartmentName.Contains(this.TextBox1.Text) select new { EmpID = emp.EmpID, EmpName = emp.EmpName, Age = emp.Age, Address = emp.Address, DeptName = dept.DepartmentName };
if (query==null) Label1.Text = "no results match your search";
Everything works in the right way, but the label doesn't show the message when query result returns null. The label can show without condition(querry==null). So how to test if a var query result returns nothing?
I have a query that references many tables, however the main record doesnt necessarily have records in the other tables. In my formview itemtemplate, i bind the values of the query but I'm getting an obvious error when the value is null. This is what I'm trying to do: (the field is a boolean btw). These fields are hidden so I don't really care if it gets assigned a temp value or something.

I have developed a web application which has LDAP authentication implemented.When I run the application though visual studio it works fine , LDAP works perfectly and allows if login name and password are correct.
If the same application is hosted on IIS server 6.0, LDAP queries fail to work. What could be the reason for the same ?
I have a web app, right now we use ADFS for SSO. A client says they have other third-party teams use LDAP to achieve this. How do I begin? What will I need to know from them in order to connect? Will I need to ask the user anything when they log in to get the process started?
Using VB2005 and in my code behing I have following query:
[Code]....Value of my select string is: select sAMAccountName, displayName, title, userAccountControl from 'LDAP://DC=Vecelliogroup,DC=COM' where objectCategory = 'User' and title <> ' ' and (userAccountControl <> '66050' and userAccountControl <> '514') and sAMAccountName like '%vg%'
Getting error:System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: 'ADSDSOObject' failed with no error message available, result code: DB_E_ERRORSINCOMMAND(0x80040E14).
Now, if I leave out the "title" and the "sAMAccountName" from my select it works fine. I am trying to get records where the "title" is not empty and name matches my prefix.
i am trying to get some properties from ldap for the current user logged on. i have the samAccountname but i want to be able to pull the persons position as well but i am not sure how to pull this from LDAP. i have the foolowing code;
string user = Request.ServerVariables["AUTH_USER"].ToString(); string[] splituser = user.Split( '\' );
DirectorySearcher search = new DirectorySearcher( de );[code]............
but this gives me an arguments out of bound exception,
I have a web application in ASP.NET 4.0. I've added an asmx service, primarily as a source for the autocomplete extender's lookup values.
When I debug on my machine locally, everything works fine. However, when I deploy the web application to IIS 7.5, I get a HTTP 404 response when trying to send data to the service.
I am able to browse to the service definition, see the available operations. Tellingly, however, when I use the test pages to test the service using POST, I receive an HTTP 404 again.
I'm not sure what is going on. I did create the asmx file within my web application and it is deployed in the virtual directory of my otherwise working production application. Is there an issue with the .asmx file being deployed in the same virtual directory, perhaps?
I have this ListView that has a Drop Down List.Everything works fine (I think/hope) except that the drop down list are not showing its result correctly.This is the code.

I'm having a problem with my Linq to XML query. I'm getting the result data I want, but it's nested so deep that there must be a better way.Here is my XML:

I'm trying to get a list (simple string[]) of all Item IDs where Category Names contains "Other".Here is my Linq:

Here is a snapshot of my result from Visual Studio:The results I want are there ("item100", "item400", "item500"), but buried so deeply in the results var.
this is my first post as you will easily see i'm quite new to this and am struggling. i have some working code that pulls user information from our active directory. the only way i've seen so far to display these results is to place it in a "For Each" statement.this can then be output to the page. however if there are lots of results this can take a while, so i was wondering if it was possible to be able to step through and handle the results by an index? here is what i have done so far:

the other issue i have is that i wish to be able to change the search criteria to the "Path" and then go to an idividual when clicked on.i have checked that this would work but cannot get my head around how i would make the result "Clickable" As you can see i have also tried using list boxes but was unable to format the results sufficiently.
I am trying to display this query result in an aspx page.
It is very slow in loading. Here is the query. The inner query inside the outer quesry is the problem.(Please see the underlined part in the query) - (If I remove that part it is very fast.)

I'm creating an LDAP class that contains a function that returns the managers username of the current user.
I know that I can use the "manager" attribute to return CN="name", OU="group", DC="company" etc.I specifically want the managers username, does anyone know if there is an attribute string that I can send to LDAP that specifically gets the managers username only? If not, is there an alternative method to do so?
I have one asp.net application , when i run this application in the visul studio it run successfully But when i deploy this aaplication and run from iis its show me this error: "Operation must use an updateable query" I am using VWD 2008 express edition database: Foxpro
I have a very strange issue where SelectionList always returns NULL when i try check its Selected Item/Value. I Googled a bit and I found out that when i click the submit button, the page is being refreshed and the SelectionList is being data bound again so it will revert back to its original behavior.
Then i tried enclosing the binding code in the Page_Load event in a !IsPostBack but still when i try to access the Selected property it is null and an exception is thrown.
My code goes something like this... (the braces are not matched properly)
I am working on a mvc project, and having problem with json. i have created a demo project with list of colors
public JsonResult GetResult() { List<string> strList = new List<string>(); strList.Add("white"); strList.Add("blue"); strList.Add("black"); strList.Add("red"); strList.Add("orange"); strList.Add("green"); return this.Json(strList); } i am able to get these on my page, but when i try to delete one color, that is when i send the following using jquery function deleteItem(item) { $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "/Home/Delete/white", data: "{}", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", success: ajaxCallSucceed, dataType: "json", failure: ajaxCallFailed }); }
the controler action public JsonResult Delete(string Color) {} Color always returns null, even if i have specified "/Home/Delete/white" in the url. i know i am doing something wrong or missing something, but not able to find out what.
I have a class library which has my LINQ doc in it. I added a stored procedure and I get the following in my .dbml.layout :
[Code]....
I include a reference to the dll of the class library to my web project and I get an error about value being returned as int where I am trying to put contents into a datalist or similar.
Code in class that calls this SP :

So I switched code to the following in my dbml.layout document :
I'm fetching som data from AD and I notice that I'm getting an exeption and notice that one of the users field that I'm fetching is empty, how can I prevent exeption.
