How To Use An Extension Method From A Code Block In Aspx Page
Mar 23, 2010
I have an extension method which I can use from the .cs codebehind of an aspx page, but if I try to do it in a code block in the aspx, it can't find the extension method. Is there something I need to add to the page?
l Im downloading Pdfs using WebClient I used below code
try { WebClient wc = new WebClient(); Uri uriadd = new Uri(@"ftp://xxx.yyy..../httpdocs/FH/Foldername/" + clientorder1[i].Cloi_id + ".pdf"); wc.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("xxxx", "zzzz"); }
Its working fineĀ but some times Gives Error like Object synchronization method was called from an unsynchronized block of code.. Why this Error coming ....
I want my site visitors to be able to navigate to a page without having to type the .aspx extension. For example, if I have a page file named info.aspx I want site visitors to be able to go to that page with a URL like this: www.mysite.com/info without the aspx extension. Is there a way to do this in the web.config file?
Is it possible to do something like this inline in an ASPX page?
<%= Me.SomeExtensionMethod() %>
I can't seem to figure out how to get this to work properly. I'm receiving an error saying that "SomeExtensionMethod" is not a member of the current Page object. I've added the necessary <%@ Import Namespace="..." %> directive at the top of my page. This Does work in code-behind.This isn't vitally important, but it would be good to know how to do in the future.
I have menu item on my master page that has block around the text when the page is first run. I wrote in the css on the link and visited property to change the color to match the image color that it is on. When a menu item is clicked the color changes to the right color. How do I get it to the right color on when the page first opens or is there a way to get rid of the block or make it transperant?
I have 2 separate code-block asp.Net expressions in an aspx markup, with an html content between (span element in the example below). In the first code-block, there is "i" as an increment variable for the for loop.Then the code-block is cut with an html content.And another code-block expression is opened but as I see I can reach the "i" variable which was declared in the previous code-block.
So, how asp.net handles -compiles- the pieces of code-block experrions declared in the mark up? Does it check the semi-colons and generates some anonymous methods which will end up with many calls to Response.Write in the last place? <p> <%for (int i = 0; i < 30; i++) {
i have to give the user the option to upload his own aspx and aspx.cs files on to the server, adjust the hyperlink to point to a page which would do the following display the aspx and aspx.cs files code onto the page without actually rendering the code the browser should not understand anything, and while reading the files to display them the method be such that nothing is processed on the server regarding the code within the files to prevent from unnecessary problems many user would try to cause.
i have tried many ways of displaying it but it ends up on displaying the actual comments instead of the code. how to achieve the above. note main concentration is on asp.net and c# using vs08, so j script and ready-made tools be avoided if feasible
I am trying to redirect an ASPX Page to a Classic ASP Page, This is Working Fine with my Local IIS (version 5.1). OS is XPesponse.Redirect("xyz.asp?id=1234");I tried to deploy it into Windows server 2003, IIS Version 6.0 and i am getting an error"Page Cannot be Displayed. here is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed."
public static string[] GetCompletionList(string prefixText, int count, string contextKey) {
// Create array of movies [code]..
Problem: The above code works great for me in getting the Autocomplete AJAX control to work. However, what I need is to define the string[] variable outside of the above block. What I'm looking for is the way to define such a variable as a global, or whatever the technical term in asp.net is for a variable that is persistent and recognized wherever it is used in the code-behind. without massive amounts of technical wizardry?
I am using Tuple class in WCF Service. When i add reference to my web project I get Tuple class. Now i want to add an extension method to Tuple<> class in my service which will be accessible in my Web project.
I recently found out about C# extension methods and wrote this one:
/// <summary> /// Short-hand for setting the data source and binding it. /// </summary> /// <param name="me">The control to set and bind the data source of.</param> /// <param name="dataSource">The data source.</param> public static void BindTo(this DataBoundControl me, IEnumerable dataSource) { me.DataSource = dataSource; me.DataBind(); }
What do you guys think? Is this a reasonable extension method to use in a professional ASP.NET project?
Imports System.Runtime.CompilerServices Namespace Extensions Public Module IntegerExtensions <Extension()> Public Function ToCommaDeliminatedNumber(ByVal int As Integer) As String Dim _input As String = int.ToString Select Case int Case Is > 99999 : Return _input.Remove(_input.Length - 3) & "k" Case Is > 9999 : Return Math.Round(Double.Parse(int / 1000), 1).ToString & "k" Case Is > 999 : Return String.Format("{0:N0}", int) Case Else : Return _input End Select End Function End Module End Namespace
And in one of my classes I'm using user.Reputation.ToCommaDeliminatedNumber I am importing the Extensions Namespace into the Class, but the error I'm getting is...'ToCommaDeliminatedNumber' is not a member of 'Integer?'. I do have other Extension Methods for Strings and Dates that work exactly as expected... I'm just at a loss on this one.
I know there is a ListBoxFor extension method among the ASP.NET MVC Html helper extension methods, but I always thought that a checkbox list is more user-friendly than a list box.
There was a very convenient CheckBoxList control in good old WebForms, but obviously that is out of the picture now. The question is, why is there no way in ASP.NET MVC to create a check box list? How can I write my own extension method that creates a check box list and behaves in a similar way ListBoxFor behaves?
How do you call a codebehind/class method from a gridview in an aspx page? Also, I need to pass the value of databound column to that method. Is this possible?
I have 5 linkbuttons act as navigation menus on the top of each .aspx page. I wrote code to control when and which linkbutton should be enabled. I am going to create a header.ascx page with these 5 linkbuttons and use <%=Response.Write("header.ascx")%> code to include the .ascx file in the .aspx page. But I got a problem with the code behind, the current .aspx page does not recongnize the linkbutton objects because they are in another file. How do I declare these 5 linkbuttons in the application?
I have written an Http Module that hooks onto the Response.Filter property of the current request and does various replacements within the HTML before it is sent to the client.All the work is done in the Write method which is overriding Write in the base class Stream.
The Write method is called multiple times for a single response - the HTML seems to be written to the output stream in chunks. My problem is that I don't have an efficient & reliable way of telling if the current chunk is the last chunk (for why I want to know this see below). The only way I have come up with is to check if the chunk contains a closing html tag - but this is not very efficient or reliable.
The reason this is needed is that the module must add the "Refresh" HTTP header to the response, but only if the HTML fulfills certain conditions (and there are certain conditions that mean the header must not be added). So, only when the last chunk has been seen does the code know if the header can be added or not. So, I either need a test for the last chunk, or on each call to Write I add the header if the current block of HTML passes the test (if it has not already been added) or remove the header if the current block of HTML fails the test (if it has already been added).
So, is there a better way to test for the last chuck OR is there a way to test for a particular header being in the response and delete it (there doesn't seem to be a way to do this - only to append headers)?
