I'm trying to remove extraneous characters like quotes, commas, etc from my dataset. I get the fact in the standard way of doing things in your code behind you simply go
string data = data.replace(",",""); or something like this. However, a datasource doesn't seem to give me that capability. What can I do to make it do this? I'm importing data from an excel sheet into a gridview. The commas are goofing up my view. I'd like to replace any commas in the dataset with spaces. Here is the code I have.
i have a asp:TextBox control on the page. i'm setting it to a TextMode="MultiLine", I am not setting a number of rows or columns. I am setting a width and height in CSS for the control.
asp.net is still adding, what i assume is a default, rows and cols attributes on the rendered control. cols="20" and rows="2" this isnt an issue in any sane, browser, but in IE the CSS height is ignored and only 2 rows of space is show.
How can I prevent these attributes from showing up on the rendered control?
Edit:
This is an issue only in IE8 in compatibility mode, IE7 and IE6. I'm not worried about IE6, but IE7 needs to work.
I have a DataTable available with me which contains thousands of rows. There is a column called EmpID which is containing '0' for some of the rows. I want to remove them from my current DataTable and want to create a new correct DataTable. I cannot go row by row checking it since it contains huge amount of data.
I am working a project, it requires me to select everything from a table, one of the fields contains dates. I have to take each take and add negative 6 months if the result equates to today's date then i add that row in the dataset to a listview else i remove that row from the dataset.
The problem i am having is removing the entire row from the dataset before binding it to the listview.
I m working on MOSS 2007. My project requirment is to fetch the data from list to gridview with check boxes in front of all rows. when we click the checkbox infront of rows then that rows will be move to another gridview & remove from first gridview. I have 2 gridview with add/remove buttons between them. I want the user to select an item in one gridview and based on the button clicked I need to remove the row from one gridview and add it to the other. I can idenfity which row is selected but I don't know how to remove/add the rows.
I'm using a table adapter to perform my queries. I'm sure I'm missing something really easy, but I can't figure out how to return the number of rows returned from a query to a dataset used for a GridView.Basically, I want to display a message "No records exist for your selection" by testing for ReturnedRows = 0.
Excerpt of C# code:
handoutDSTableAdapters.handoutTableAdapter handoutsAdapter = new handoutDSTableAdapters.handoutTableAdapter(); gv_Handout.DataSource = handoutsAdapter.GetDataByDoctor(Int32.Parse(ddl_MD.SelectedValue)); gv_Handout.DataBind();
I am having a problem with this code, i had a post on this however this code is slightly different to that so i thought i would post a spearate thread.
Anyway, what i am trying to do is display job vacancies by the result of a DropDownList value. Now each job name has a description. The problem i am having is i need to display the results in this logic:
Job nameJob descriptionJob location. But what is happening is the job description (body) is repeating the more vacancies there are. This is the page:
If you select Deputy Nursery Manager from the DropDown and hit the Search button you will see the results. After listing the first two locations the description is repeated and then the 3rd location is shown after this. This is my code:
