View 1 RepliesI am using an AsyncFileUpload control inside a FormView. I only want the file to saved during the FormView's ItemInserting event. In trying to find a way to do this, the only thing I could come up with was to store the AsyncFileUpload control or the PostedFile in a Session variable during the OnUploadedComplete() event and then invoke the SaveAs method in the ItemInserting event. Problem is the SaveAs method is throwing an exception saying "Cannot Access A Closed File". If I invoke SaveAs in the OnUploadedComplete() event, it saves successfully, but I need it to only save when the user submits the form. this error or perhaps a better way to save the file during ItemInserting()?

I think the popup message is a poor idea because OnClientUploadError has already provided developers a good option to handle the error easily in whichever way they prefer. The worst is that if a user clicks OK, he will see a window that should be seen only by software developers. Is there any trick to stop the error alert?

View 1 RepliesWhen the user tries to upload a file with a size more than 4 MB, the AsyncFileUpload control gives a Confirmation alert (with "OK"/"Cancel" button) with the following message "Server Response error: Maximum Request Lengh Exceeded". But when the User clicks the "OK" button a new window popups and shows the server error and on clicking the cancel button the AsyncFileUpload background color turns red. Here I am not sure why the control is showing a Confirmation alert instead of a simple alert message. Is it possible to change the Confirmation alert with the simple alert message? Basically I don't want the popup window to show the server error as it is happening currently. Also, is there a better way to handle the file size error and show apporiate error message to the users?
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to use the AsyncFileUpload control from the Asp.net Ajax Control Toolkit (Sept 30, 2009 stable build: 30930) . I've created a demo application and the control works fine. Files upload and all is well. When I try to use the control in my real application, I'm always receiving an error stating "The file attached is invalid". The AsyncFileUpload control returns this when the file uploaded is null.
To isolate the problem, I created a new master page exactly like the master page in my demo app. I also created an aspx page exactly like the page in my demo app. The upload still fails with a "The file attached is invalid" error. I also compared the web.config for the real app and the demo app and couldn't identify any differences that should matter. The code below is the test code in my real app. This code is exactly the same as the functioning code in the demo app with the exception of having different class names and file names. The web.config listed below is from the real app with the appsettings and connectionstrings removed. Real App Test Master Page:

I have really stucked at a big problem using the AsyncFileUpload inside a TabContainer. It seems that when I have put the AsyncFileUploadControl inside a TabPanel in the TabContainer and now switch tab manually by clicking I receive an error that is another codefile than the .cs file. IIS 6.0 .NET framework 2.0 with latest service pack I gave IIS_WPG write/modify access to the folder where MS-Access database is located and database but at the time of insert an error pop-up. I need to install in the Server or settings in the IIS to recognize my MS-Access db is it some office runtime that I am missing. (BTW I am using OLEDB connection string in my C# )

View 1 RepliesI have built a custom Ajax User Control which uses the AsyncFileUpload control released with the latest Ajax Toolkit.
On my local machine the application works fine without error, however if I deploy the app onto my web server the functionality breaks.
I am trying to add a file via the AsyncFileUpload control, save it to the web server, then save some details into a datatable which is displayed in a gridview. All of this sits in an update panel.
When uploading small files (under 55kbs) the process works fine, however when uploading larger files, it doesn't like it. The control uploads the file successfully to it (the client error is not triggered), but it breaks when I try to save it to the web server. Upon saving, the document saves OK, but all the data is stripped away. It just saves the filename with no content. It looks like the AsyncFileUpload control has lost the File in session, therefore cannot save it. However the AsysncFileUpload.filename still exists and AsyncFileUpload.HasFile is returning true.
Has anyone seen anything like this before or have any ideas why this could be happening? I have set the web config httpRuntime maxRequestLength = 20480, so it shouldnt be that.

I'm developing a website using .NET 3.5 and I'm having problems with the asyncfileupload control.The problem occurs when you upload a file, and then try upload the same file again. On the second upload, none of the clientside nor serverside methods fire. Everything works fine if you upload one file, upload a file with a different name and then upload the first one again.
This is a bit if a pain because on the page i allow the user to delete the uploaded images so i need the functionality to upload a file with the same name as the previous upload.Has anyone else encountered this and are there any work arounds?
