AJAX :: AsyncFileUpload Working Locally, But Not On IIS 6
Feb 3, 2010I have built a custom Ajax User Control which uses the AsyncFileUpload control released with the latest Ajax Toolkit.
On my local machine the application works fine without error, however if I deploy the app onto my web server the functionality breaks.
I am trying to add a file via the AsyncFileUpload control, save it to the web server, then save some details into a datatable which is displayed in a gridview. All of this sits in an update panel.
When uploading small files (under 55kbs) the process works fine, however when uploading larger files, it doesn't like it. The control uploads the file successfully to it (the client error is not triggered), but it breaks when I try to save it to the web server. Upon saving, the document saves OK, but all the data is stripped away. It just saves the filename with no content. It looks like the AsyncFileUpload control has lost the File in session, therefore cannot save it. However the AsysncFileUpload.filename still exists and AsyncFileUpload.HasFile is returning true.
Has anyone seen anything like this before or have any ideas why this could be happening? I have set the web config httpRuntime maxRequestLength = 20480, so it shouldnt be that.

Feb 14, 2010I have problem with AsyncFileUpload in CollapsiblePanel. In debug mode i have this error: "a._innerTB.style.width=a._inputFile.offsetWidth-107+"px"". I an begginer programmer and this is first time i see that kind of error. When AsyncFileUpload is outside the Panel or AsyncFileUpload everthing works perfect but i need this in AsyncFileUpload. Anyone know how to fix it? Or maybe there is another way to send file without reloading whole page (asp FIleUpload require reload)

Apr 27, 2016 i have made a page having AsyncFileUpload and Ajax calendar used both together on a page.
The page is not responding. displaying a runtime error. But when i am removing the Ajax calendar from page the page is working properly.
I need both controls on one page. below is my code:

AJAX :: AsyncFileUpload Inside FormView Not Working?
Jul 25, 2010I have a FormView inside a user control, and in the InsertItemTemplate, I have an AsyncFileUpload control, that I would like to to use. On the user side, it seems to work, but it doesn't work on the server side code behind. The HasFile Property is always false, and it doesn't fire the UploadCompleted event either. My UpdatePanel is in the master page.

AJAX :: AsyncFileUpload Not Working When .net App Published To Server?
Mar 9, 2010AsyncFileUpload not working when .net app published to web server. It works fine in testing on my pc. I have checked security settings. I can get other upload scripts to work, but I wanted to try using the AJAX AsyncFileUpload. I thought maybe it's something on the server blocking it, but not errors, It just keeps saying "uploading" but it never finishes and it never uploads the file. Has anyone else had this happen?

Feb 19, 2010i use a asyncfileupload control to upload files from my web pages. since i have a listview inside an update panel, and the listview needs to have the file upload functionality, i can not use a asp fileupload control.
the uploaded files are saved inside a temp folder in my application directory. i use a asp:button to upload files from the asyncfieupload control to my temp folder.
as long as i work on my local machine, the upload control inside the listview works perfectly fine, and does what is expected of it (i.e upload files :))
but when i move the code to my web server the asyncfileupload onthe page works just once, that is, it uploads just once (no matter whichever row of the listview it is) and for all other subsequent uploads, it uplaods a file of the same name to my temp folder but with 0KB size.
it beats me why asyncfileupload control would behave this way in the two environments.
could anyone suggest a possible reason/or something i m missing to configure on the server?

May 4, 2010I have a requirement, where-in once a file is upoaded using the AsyncFileUpload control, I want the name of the uploaded file to be removed from the AsyncFileUpload control and it should show blank (as it was when the page was first loaded). Also, the control should allow uploading the same file immediately after the first upload is complete(assuming that the user deciedes to update the file after the first upload and wants to immediately upload the updated version of the file).

It doesn't work with and vs 2010, and ajax control toolkit 4 ( I downloaded from link belowand vs 2010) and It doesn't work with ajaxcontroltollkit 3.5 I downloaded from same link.but when i put Your AjaxControlToolkit.dll in bin folder of my project it works fine.
I downloaded the same version of tolkit.dll as yours (3.0.30930.0) and I worked for me.
but I'd like to use version 4.
AJAX :: AsyncFileUpload Javascript Doesn't Work Within Visible / Invisible Panel
Aug 18, 2010I have an asyncfileupload control within a panel control. The panel is initially set to visible=false on page load. After a user clicks a button to display the panel contents however, I set the panel to visible and the user can then use the asyncfileupload. The problem however, is it seems much of the javascript associated with the asyncfileupload, does not function properly when the panel containing the upload control is set from invisible to visible. If I set my panel's "visible" property to "true" initially, then it works fine. My javascript error message is as follows:
"Form contains a file input, but is missing method=POST and enctype=multipart/form-data on the form. The file will not be sent."
Basically within my asyncfileupload control, I have the following line:

In this scenario, my "args" variable is always null (when I set my pane's "visible" property to "true" on page load, the args variable DOES contain data. Any idea why switching a panel from visible=false to visible=true, would cause an error like this?

Web User Control With Javascript Used Multiple Times On A Page - How To Make Javascript Functions Point At The Correct Controls

Here is some further elaboration...I have a web user control that is used in multiple places, sometimes more than once on a given page.The web user control has a specific set of JavaScript functions (mostly jQuery code) that are containted within *.js files and automatically inserted into page headers.However, when I want to use the control more than once on a page, the *.js files are included 'n' number of times and, rightly so, the browser gets confused as to which control it's meant to be executing which function on.What do I need to do in order to resolve this problem? I've been staring at this all day and I'm at a loss.

C# - Javascript Functions In .ascx?
Feb 3, 2011I've looked at about 5 Questions here on SOF and haven't really found a useful answer for this. How am I supposed to invoke my javascript functions from client-side events in my .ascx controls? Here is my .ascx file.. what most the answers have led me to:

I'm getting different errors when doing it this way. ".....ascx does not contain a definition for "insetItem"", and my other pages that use this file don't recognize it anymore. When I try to put the js on the actual .aspx pages that will be using it, I get the same no definition error.
I just started learning jscript, still pretty noob. I'm trying to make it so when the user down clicks a menu item, I want that item's borderstyle to change to "inset". I'm not sure how to change that attribute for the specific item that gets clicked either in javascript >_< but that's another question.
