AJAX :: AsyncFileUpload --> OnClientUploadStarted --> Args.set_cancel(true); --> Object Doesn't Support
May 3, 2010
I am using the AsyncFileUpload.
I set the OnClientUploadStarted event to cancel when the file extension doesn't fit using "args.set_cancel(true);"
But I get the following error "Object doesn't support this method"
Bellow the code
[Code]....
Fot some reason the method "set_cancel" is not available at that moment.

In my experience, im get this error msg 9 out of 10 times i use javascript in my system. Im using Microsoft Visual web developer 2008, i wonder if this is related to my problem, i not sure there is anything i need to add as reference or update anything. I can't get my <ajax:asyncfileupload> working and I don't see why...
When outside any panel or table it is working well, but as soon as I put it in a <asp:panel> or table I get a strange error which seems to be on client-side but I don't understand what's happen here. Here is the code and code-behind and Javascript.
Here's the error:

Here's my front-code:

As far as I can see, the following code should make an AsyncFileUpload display in ModalPopupExtender. The MPE shows fine but the AsyncFileUpload doesn't load inside it. I also tried removing the update panel and putting the divs both inside and outside of the update panel, all with the same (lack of) results. And the AsyncFileUpload displays and works outside of the MPE.
In ListView EditItemTemplate:

After ListView closing tag:

I'm having a problem with a Webusercontrol that has an asyncfileupload control. My websusercontrol is being loaded in a placeholder control that's wrapped by an updatepanel.Due to asyncpostback, I have to load and clear the placeholder's controls.
The webusercontrol works flawlessly, except the asyncfileupload, which doesn't want to upload at all. I can assure that the code is without error, because I used to have the webusercontrol running as an *.aspx site.
I guess that the problem is the fact that the control has to be cleared and reloaded with every asyncpostback ?

I have an asyncfileupload control within a panel control. The panel is initially set to visible=false on page load. After a user clicks a button to display the panel contents however, I set the panel to visible and the user can then use the asyncfileupload. The problem however, is it seems much of the javascript associated with the asyncfileupload, does not function properly when the panel containing the upload control is set from invisible to visible. If I set my panel's "visible" property to "true" initially, then it works fine. My javascript error message is as follows:
"Form contains a file input, but is missing method=POST and enctype=multipart/form-data on the form. The file will not be sent."
Basically within my asyncfileupload control, I have the following line:
[Code]....
In this scenario, my "args" variable is always null (when I set my pane's "visible" property to "true" on page load, the args variable DOES contain data. Any idea why switching a panel from visible=false to visible=true, would cause an error like this?

I am trying to run some animation when an update panel is being updated. I have three update panels on my page and only want this to run for one of the updatepanels.
I use the follwing code which works once the page has loaded,on a button click, however I need the animation to run on the initial page load as well. I have tried adding the animation for page load in a Sys.Application.add_init(MyInit); but it doesn't work.
<script type="text/javascript">
var panelsUpdated;
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_pageLoaded(PageLoaded);
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_initializeRequest(prm_beginRequest);
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_endRequest(prm_EndRequest);
function PageLoaded(sender, args)
{
panelsUpdated = args.get_panelsUpdated();
}
// Called when async postback begins
function prm_beginRequest(sender, args) {
for (var i = 0; i < panelsUpdated.length; i++) {
if (panelsUpdated[i].id == "pnlAccordion") {
var panelAccord = $get('viewResults');
panelAccord.style.display = 'none';
currentPostBackElement = "pnlAccordion";
var panelProg = $get('divImage');
panelProg.style.display = '';
}
}
}
// Called when async postback ends
function prm_EndRequest(sender, args) {
for (var i = 0; i < panelsUpdated.length; i++) {
if (panelsUpdated[i].id == "pnlAccordion")
{
// get the divImage and hide it again
var panelProg = $get('divImage');
panelProg.style.display = 'none';
var panelAccord = $get('viewResults');
panelAccord.style.display = 'block';
}
}
}
</script>

I'm getting frustrated with all this.
In my new webpage version I've added ajax toolkit 4.0 and runing framework 4.0, there seems to be some problems with the ToolScriptManager CombineScripts.
I have a MasterPage that all pages derives from and in this MasterPage I have a ToolKitScriptManager with LoadScript.....="false" CombineScripts="true". In my masterpage I've added a ModalPopUpExtender
When I start the webpage I can't show ModalPopUp (www.url.com) but if I go to any other page it works ex. (www.url.com/testpage/), if I disable CombineScripts="false" the the starting page works but then I get so many more httprequests.

I have many divs in 1 page and each div consists of a gridview, the gridview is loaded by making AJax calls. On load of the page, all the grid load data properly. But now when i update any row in either of the grids, and make a call to the javascript that loads the grid in the page, it doesn't work rightly. Wat are the options to update/refresh the grid.

I have an AsyncFileUpload control inside the edit template of a FormView control and I've noticed that after the first use of this AFU control, its HasFile property always returns true on subsequent record updates even if no file is selected in the AFU control. When no file is selected in the AFU control, but its HasFile property is true, the last file that the AFU saw gets uploaded upon updating a record.
My question is, how do I remove the file from the session state after a successful upload via the AFU control?
I am using the most current version of the AJAX toolkit by the way.
