When Session attribute Cookieless ="True" the page.Ispostback is always false.Cant understand the reason behind it.
And one more thing what is happening when we click Remember Me option in login control. As per my knowledge it is storing authentication cookie in it. If we can add data to authentication cookie then why we need session...we can add session data in that.. and authentication token is also regenerated for every new request like sessions.....i got confused after browsing for few hours.
Which one is more secure using cookies or URL for authentication and session.
In theory, my textbox should have an autocomplete dropdown containing 3 instances of the word "test". In practice, I can type anything I want into the textbox and nothing happens.
the ASP.NET MVC 1.0 application run well on asp.net development server in visual studio 2008,but when deployed on IIS(6 or 7),I got a problem.the application used cookieless="true" configuration, the 'using(Html.BeginForm())' rendered a form action like<form action="/(S(kka5pk45bn5ecy45nq23x0uc))/Query/Query" method="post"> in asp.net development server, that's right.but on iis, the form action rendered like <form action="/testMVC/Query/Query" method="post">t losts the session information.
I've set up a textbox with autocomplete, it works fine when i run is in visual studio, but when I deploy it to iis, the list items just do not appear.I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm using clean routes (with asp.net 4 routing).
i have written some code to for a project im working on but the Ajax tool doesnt want to function.... I know the web method works course it gives me my results when i run it but when i run the appliaction the AJAX doesnt fire this is my web service code
[WebMethod] public string[] GetCompletionList(string text) { List<string> al = new List<string>(10); [code]...
i have installed AjaxControlToolkit for framework 3.5 . my application is in virtual folder on the server which has Autocomplete Extender control, when i browse, control is not returning any list nor any error message. it is working fine in the localhost, is it because of the subfolder or any other reason i dont understand
I'm yet another programmer who find out that AJAX autocomplete extender doesn't work although I've searched several pages and saw where the biggest problems occur.I'm using ASP.NET 2.0 and AJAX for the same version. Few months ago I've included modalPopupExtender in to the same project and it's working fine. However with AutoCompleteExtender have no luck..ASPX page:
[Code]....
and web service:
[Code]....
I was using this site for reference:ttp://dotnetslackers.com/Community/blogs/kaushalparik/archive/2008/06/06/autocomplete-textbox-using-ajax-autocompleteextender-from-database.aspxBut when I type something in textbox nothing happenes. However in IE8 I got message that there is script error.
I am using a CollapsiblePanelExtender inside a ListView and aside from one minor, but annoying problem, it works fine. The problem is, when the page first renders, I see all the panels expanded for a short moment before they all get collapsed. There are multiple CPEs because the ListView is databound to about 45 records. I have the Collapsed=True, and based on some not-quite-clear documentation, I also set the CollapsedSize=0 and the panel's Height=0. After that last change (panel height), they are now displaying collapsed except that the gridviews inside the target panel is still showing in a sort of overlapped way. I'd upload a picture so you can see, but I don't think I can in this forum. Since the page looks like this for about a half-second, it's enough to confuse and annoy my users (and myself). Can someone please help me set this up to truly show collapsed when the page loads?
I did also try looking at the code in the AJAX Toolkit's sample website but I still don't quite understand "Collapsed - Specifies that the object should initially be collapsed or expanded. Set this to match your initial size. In this case, we initially set the panel to a height of 0 to match the CollapsedSize property, so when the page first renders, we don't see the panel expanded." If the options are True/False, why does it say to set this to match your initial size? And I did set the panel height to 0 to match the collapsedsize and it's just not working.
I am using VB 2008 and the ajax tool kit trying to get the autocomplete working. I have been looking at the asp.net video tutorials, but for the life of me - its not. Here is the code:
I can't get AJAX CT Autocomplete to work. The problem is when I start writing in textbox nothing happens. The frist problem I had experienced was when I tried to Add AutoComplete page method I got an error: "Cannot create page method "GetCompletionList"...". Then I tried creating it manually, but still nothing happens.
I am having issues with the autocomplete extender from the toolkit. I am using it to extend a textbox. I added a web service to the project that returns some values as a string().It works if I run it locally on either my development server or my production server, but when I try to run it from another machine the autocomplete box does not popup. I have other ajax extenders running on the page and they are working properly. Is there a security setting I need to set to get the autocomplete extender to work for the IUSR?
I have spent the last 6 hours trying to solve this problem, my Autocomplete textbox isn't working for a reason I am not aware of. I have tried using relative paths, I have tried using dummy data (as in the code below) and I have accessed and invoked the webservice directly from the browser with no issues. However, the typing in the textbox just won't trigger the webservice.
In winserver-2008, IIS 7 and .net 3.5 (i have installed AjaxControlToolkit for framework 3.5 )when i create a virtual folder for this application on the server then Autocomplete Extender control is not returning any list nor any error message also.i dont understand how to debug because it is working fine in the localhost
"Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.InvalidOperationException: Two components with the same id 'autoCompleteExtenderPopupBehavior' can't be added to the application."
I've been working on this problem for some time without success. We have this website that has been working for many years now and we have been using cookieless sessions since the begining. Now we are integrating with another site to handle payment throught redirection. This provider ask for two adresses for success or failure of a payment so we have something like [URL] and [URL]. For design purpose thoses two pages do not exists and I use an httpModule to route to the proper page. I use httpApplication.Context.RewritePath to send to the proper page but I can never find back the session my user had before redirecting to the payment provider.
If I change the session mecanism to use cookies (cookieless="false" or cookieless="UseUri") with a few other tweaks, everything works fine Does anybody know if this has a chance to work? Is there a way to re-attach to an existing session?
I'm trying to save some content whenever a button/hyperlink is clicked using jquery.ajax (Using Asp.net 3.5). The logic is as follows:
Through .bind in jquery I bind my own method(MakeLog) to a button click or hyperlink click. The click events of button/hyperlink contain nothing, I need to use .bind for selective controls. Now we have a button whose click event will fire a method, say MakeLog.Code snippet for MakeLog is as follows:
This works fine in IE but in Firefox this is not sending the data back as expected.I tried to identify the issue and came across the following: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3522944/jquery-ajax-calls-async-false-vs-async-true .What I understand is that, whenver page is redirecting/reloading due to button click or hyperlink click the async call is not working properly.

I have two radiobuttons in radiobuttonlist and based on selection, i am enabling and disabling the text box. First time i used date radiobutton and i took date in corresponding textbox and i saved it into database and then when i came back on same page i saw the date radiobutton is checked has proper value then i clicked on another radiobutton and this time page is postback and clear my all the data which was in my other controls(I have 5-6 text boxed on my page). I dont know why?, It supposed to select my other radiobutton and enable the corresponding text box
