AJAX :: Can A Modal Pop Up Be Populated With Data From A URL

Jul 23, 2010

I have a Collapsible Panel Extender inside a datalist.I have a hyperlink inside the panel within the datalist. I want to have a modal popup on clicking the hyperlink inside the panel and I want the modal pop up to be populated with the data from the navigate URL property of the hyperlink. Is it possible to do this? I am attaching my code,this is currently throwing an exception which I am guessing is because it is unable to find the hyperlink in the panel within the datalist :-

AJAX :: Modal User Control On Top Of A Modal Popup + Javascript Causes Page Flash

Jul 29, 2010

Modal Popup user control (its a message box) on top of a modal popup with javascript that maintains postback on a scrollable div all inside of an update panel causes my page to flash on postback of the user control. If any one of the peices (user control, modal popup, javascript) are missing everything works fine. The javascript is maintaing scrollback on a scrollable listview on the page. A modalpopup is shown on top of this main page that is for report parameters. The user control is used for validation and is displayed if a parameter is invalid. I know this may not be the best design, but it can't really change unless its a minor change. Heres the js if anyone wants to see popup or styles let me know.

//Begin methods to maintain or reset scroll position during postback.
var controlIds = [];
var scrollTops = [];
//Register a control to maintain its scroll position on postbacks.
function MaintainPostback(controlId) {
controlIds.push(controlId);
}
//Find the div/control id in the controlIds array and set its scroll position to 0.
function ResetControlScrollTop(controlId) {
var index = 0;
while (index < controlIds.length) {
if (controlId == controlIds[index]) {
scrollTops[index] = 0;
return;
}
index++;
}

AJAX :: Modal Popup Using Modal Disappear In Postback

Jan 24, 2013

I look for a good way for arrangement Admin pages Items

for example Admin Upload Page consists of these sections:

* make a new folder

* delete folder

* upload file in folder

* show folders information (in a gridview)

* download test

so I think one way is showing this sections in modal

but when I tried make a new folder in modal after clicking in create folder button modal disappeared.

Is there any way that  modal doesnt disappear until user click close button?

I mean I want modal to behave like a page.

If there isn't a way what to do for classification sections?

AJAX :: Get One Modal Popup To Trigger A Second Modal?

How can I get one modal popup to trigger a second modal? And in between each modal, I need to execute server code.

Page load, check if question needs answering -> Modal 1 -> User answers -> run server code to check if question two needs answering -> Modal 2 -> show page.

I could do this using a series of asp:Views if there is not a clean way, the management just really likes the modals

Data Controls :: Save Form Data To Database Using AJAX Modal Popup

Dec 17, 2013

I am new to AJAX. I am designing a feedback form for a video conferencing session in asp.net web application which will be displayed as a modal window. The questions on the modal window will be displayed from a table stored on SQL Server 2008 and the responses of those questions should again be stored back in a different table on SQL Server after user clicks on the SUBMIT button on the modal window (and also, the window should close after the action).

I am not aware of the way to retrieve data from or store data to SQL server from modal window though I know how to retrieve and store data using asp.net and c#...

AJAX :: Modal Popup Showing Incorrect Data

Nov 11, 2010

I have a buttonfield which is being handled by the gv_RowCommand function to Show() the modal popup extender which will then do the actual submission of data. When I actually try it out, the ID which is being displayed on the popup is not of the index of the row that triggered the Command, but the previous one. If no row is actually Selected in the beginning, no value pops up. Here's the source... I need help resolving this so that the ID of the row actually selected is displayed in the label. That way I can use that value for the commands that will then be executed by the modal panel's buttons. MPE Panel

Using Ajax To Populate Web Page, But The Populated HTML Isn't Working

Sep 28, 2010

I'm using Ajax to dynamically populate a DIV. I have each page content stored in XML files as CDATA. When a user clicks on a link from the navigation bar, the Ajax loads the XML for that particular page, parses it, and populates the DIV with it's content.

Everything is working GREAT, except for one thing. I have a jQuery modal popup whose markup is loaded from that page's XML file. The .js and .css files from the jQuery plugin are all loaded, and when this is HARD CODED (i.e., not loaded from XML), it works fine. But when it's loaded from the XML, the modal doesn't work.

When the page is loaded from the XML file- What the page is supposed to do is load the HTML from the XML file, which it does, and there's a hyperlink that when clicked, it's supposed to create the modal popup window. Instead, clicking on the link does NOT fire up the modal popup window.

When the page is hard coded- it does everything it's supposed to do.

A live example is at:

http://mikemarks.net/clientSites/tabras/

Click on "The Band", and at the bottom you'll see the hyperlink called "Demo". Clicking on that should bring up a modal popup window, but instead as you can see it just takes you to the top of the page.

Below is my markup (notice the div id="copy", which is the placeholder for my HTML content that's loaded from the XML file), my Ajax JavaScript code, and my XML file (which is shown as the markup that's loaded into the div id="copy").

<div id="leftTwoThirdsColumn">
<div id="menu">
<ul class="menu">
<li style="width:65px;"><a id="default" href="#" onclick="makeRequest('xml/default.xml');"><span>Home</span></a></li>

Gridview SQL Parameter Null From Javascript / Ajax Populated Dropdownlist

Sep 7, 2010

My issue is similar to [URL] how-to-use-the-value-of-a-selected-value-from-a-dropdownlist-populated-with-ajax but I am using ASP.NET, not PHP. I have a dropdownlist that is populated by another dropdownlist's current value through ajax. So if DDL A is 'NY', DDL B is populated with different data relating to 'NY'. I need that data to be posted back to the server because this affects an SQLDataSource parameter. However, as far as I can tell, the value is always null after postback resulting in the gridview to be empty.

Data Controls :: Display GridView Row Details Inside AJAX ModalPopupExtender Modal Popup

Sep 20, 2015

I saw guide on here [URL] ....

Which I found useful to create gridview with dropdown filter. What my gridview differs from your one is based on ID, a modal is loaded. E.g. there is a column called "review" and in that column there is image that when clicked it loads a modal with details. My question is, how do i do this using the code provided by you. So ID is passed back to code. (So backend knows which row is clicked).

If I click again, the "Update" and "Cancel" buttons shows, and after clicking one of those, popup closes again. The above code works, if i use gridview the insert, edit or delete the data, does not close automatically. What may be the cause of this problem.

gvMolecules.DataBind(); } }
catch (OracleException oe) {
Console.WriteLine("ERROR : " + oe.Message); }
finally { cmd.Dispose(); } } } }

The dataset is being populated, however when the page renders, the data nor the gridview are visible. I have tried using both IE and Firefox, binding / not binding the columns, AutoGenerateColumns Y / N with no success. As I am new to all of this ( VS2008, ASP.NET, C# ) I can't help but to think I am overlooking something basic.

I am using the following :
- VS 2008
- MS Vista SP2
- Oracle XE ( local )
