Have try to send the complex string that is created(serilize) from data.If I write just a regular string there is no problem but I want to sendover the array data as a string and then deserilize it does not work.What happens is that the webmethod 'save' never start. No error occurs!I suppose it is becouse the string contains a lot of " but I dont know howto change that and then bee able to deserilize it to the object.The string 'strData':
"{'JSONString': '[{"Show":false,"SortOrder":"","QuestionText":"Ingen rapport lämnas till kund då följande muntliga rapport har lämnats:","DefaultValue":"","CSS":"","Note":"","RQID":"Label","FunctionNr":0},{"Show":false,"SortOrder":"","QuestionText":"Lämnar
I am posting a Jquery Json serialized object to my controller but not all of the data is getting passed. One of the members is a complex type that is also Json serialized. This is the one that isn't getting through to the controller.
Here is the class I'm passing to my controller via Ajax post. Note the complex type, RoutingRuleModel.
SourceCodeModel.cs:
[code]....
Problem: SourceCodeModel contains correct values EXCEPT for it's complex member: RuleModel, which comes back as a RoutingRuleModel with default (null or 0's) values.
I am trying to call web service from jquery..trying following way but i am not able to pass to complex type parameter to WCF service.My wcf function is as follows
<OperationContract()> <Web.WebGet(UriTemplate:="/GetData?strErrMsg={strErrMsg}&chrErrFlg={chrErrFlg}", ResponseFormat:=WebMessageFormat.Json, BodyStyle:=WebMessageBodyStyle.Wrapped)> _ Function GetData(ByRef strErrMsg As System.Collections.Generic.List(Of String), ByRef chrErrFlg As String) As String strErrMsg is System.Collections.Generic.List(Of String)
I am trying to call as follows
var Type; var Url; var Data; var ContentType; var DataType; var ProcessData; var parameters;
[code]...
And I am able to call other methods in same way having string and integer parameter.I have gone through this but didnt get anything. URL...
I have a service that works great on my development box. It uses JQuery to hit my web service, and then the JSON results are sent back.
The web service is located on our basePage.cs. We didn't want to put out an external WebService for this. Our on beta box something different is happening.
The web page seems to be trying to call the web method correctly - the JSON data is being sent... but the server doesn't seem to know it's a webmethod. here's my service function (it's in our basepage.cs which inherits from Page).
I was interested in creating a WebMethod that could send an email. I would prefer to use Visual Basic instead of C# since I know Visual Basic much better.
Upon clicking a button I need to send a collection and a few other variables to server in Json form.For each value in the collection the server code (C# ) wil update those other variables in the DB.
For example there is a ‘classnumber’ collection with values (First, Second, Third, ….),other variables (‘teacher_name’ and ‘subjectname’).For each value in the ‘classnumber’ collection I need to update the ‘teacher_name’ by searching for the ‘subject_name’ in the DB.So I need to pass the ‘classnumber’ collection,’teacher_name’,’subject_name’ values to server in json form. At the moment instead of sending the ‘classnumber’ collection I am sending ‘teacher_name’,’subject_name’,’classnumber’ as variables for each value in the collection ,which requires multiple requests made to the server.
Instead of these individual requests I am wondering if there is a way to send all the data at once to server in json form?
Does anyone have a tricky tip to simplify my complex String Operations? I receive a string sequenze from database which i have to manipulate on RowDataBound of an GridView, put the String into several controls. The String looks like this:Here goes a introduction string with easy formating options such as {blue}blue text{/blue}
{CONTROL}{ParamsForControl|ParamsForControl}Text for Control 1{/CONTROL} {CONTROL}{ParamsForControl|ParamsForControl}Text for Control 2{/CONTROL} {CONTROL}{ParamsForControl|ParamsForControl}Text for Control 3{/CONTROL}
Some Text at the end.My first try was easy because I haven't had an introducing and a ending text, so I split the String at "{CONTROL}" extract the Parameters and replaced "{/CONTROL}" with nothing, works fine...But if i now split at "{CONTROL}" how to handle the text in front of and behind them... I do a lot of string.IndexOf and String.LastIndexOf operations but I hope there is an easier way...Result should be:
Introduction Text = Label Control = UserControl Control = UserControl
The problem which I present involves needing a more complex string comparison mechanism with Linq to handle user driven queries of irregularly formatted data. The one instance I will use to explain this problem is phone numbers. To search a phone number you want to compare just the numbers (This system has to be able to handle internation as well as US domestic numbers). So users have been able (through many years) to enter phone numbers in any format they desire, ex:
555.555.5555 or +1 555 555 5555 or (555) 555-5555 etc
So I have a query I would LOVE to use, but because SQL cannot translate regx objects I have very few options that I am aware of. The query I want to use is as follows:...............
I'm considering going at this myself because my requirements are particular and highly customized:
The grid is bound to a collection of complicated objects, each of which may contain child and grandchild objects. Depending on data and context, the template'd cells vary from TextBoxes to ComboBoxes to Calendars to a combination of controls.TextBox cells have Google-style auto-complete functionality. Also each TextBox cell can expand into a small TreeView pane that allows hierarchy-navigating selection of a value should auto-complete be insufficient.Values from other controls can be drag-and-dropped into cells.Columns are re-sizable and re-orderable. Clicking their headers sorts data.All of the above is AJAX / client-side / Web 2.0 of course.
Has anyone built anything similar from scratch? Or used an effective tool to accomplish this goal? How well would Telerik meet my specs? Is it right to have the hunch that something this specific is best done by taking a Microsoft GridView and extending it myself?

So part of my web app centers around this very important form which is used to create a form. Its like google docs form. The user keys in a type (checkbox, textfield, numericfield) and a label and slaps it into the system, and it generates a form somewhere.
Its a little more complex than google forms, the field types are complex and theres a lot more to that form (It happens to be a form generator for a finance plan)
The app is asp.net, I was thinking of using jquery and jquery's own ajax methods to post the data, but I think it would just turn into a very hairy situation, I then thought silverlight, but Ive never done silverlight before but I am an experienced .net guy.
So what do you guys think, will silverlight be too tough for a first timer for this kinda thing? Or should I stick to jquery. Plus points for silverlight is its an inhouse lan app and this particular page will be used by people with very high bandwidth.
I'm designing a page which makes an ajax call (via jQuery.ajax) to a page method on the server side.On the server side, I have two classes: Agent and Channel.
In the page method, I'd like to return a List<Agent> and a List<Channel> to the client side. How can I return two lists to client side? should wrap them up in one class like:
I am using a webform and trying to use a $.ajax call a webmethod on my code behind to format and return some data. It sounded easy but I need the help of an expert. Here is what I have and perhaps someone could steer me in the right direction to solving this problem. for the time being all I want the [webmethod] to return is some dummy data so the jqgrid displays, after I get it displaying correctly I will work on the data column format. So for this sample to work correctly user would open web from and click on button "Load Grid" when this is clicked it calls the the [webmethod] on the server, the sever then gets the data and passes it back to the jquery .ajax call and then it gets loaded into the jqGrid.
