AJAX :: ComboBox Not Rendering Correctly In MasterPage?
Mar 15, 2011
When I add an ajax combobox (WindowsStyle Css) to a web page that uses a masterpage the arrow button is vertically offset from the rest of the combobox. however if I add it to page without masterpage then it works fine.I am using the images and provided css styling provided by ajax toolkit. I tried removing the site css file but that didn't help either. Any ideas what could be causing this? Code is below for a sample in Master/Content Page:
I have a display problem when I try to use a ajax combobox inside a tab control: when my tab control loads on the page where the combobox is, everything works fine; however, if it loads on a another page, the you change to the page which contains the combobox, the right button (which opens the list of the combobox) isn't displayed at all.
I am building a simple CMS with asp.net MVC and I have almost all the parts working. I have one minor issue which I can't work out how to solve. I have a Html helper method that renders the content of area. This method however uses the Response.Write to write its content rather than returning a string. The reason for this is that I'm performing a partial request and hence do not have a string to return.
The problem I'm having is that the content renders above the H1 tag. My understand was that the h1 should already be in the response and my call to response.Write() would therefore append content after that point. This is obviously not happening. What am I missing here.
I've used partial requests before and they always render in the correct place. I haven't yet used them with MVC 2, this could possibly be the problem.
Below is the content area extension method. The widget render method varies and is where the partial request occurs. However even the start and end container tag render above h1 so it has to be something fundamental I'm doing wrong.
public static void ContentArea(this HtmlHelper htmlHelper, string areaName) { var container = new TagBuilder("div"); container.GenerateId(areaName); container.AddCssClass("content-area");
I've encountered was appears to be a strange bug with the menu control, and alas, I am unable to find much useful information on it (which leads me to believe I have something installed or confingured incorrectly). Here the problem:
When declaring a menu control with a staticHoverStyle, for example:
Has no effect on the behavior of the control once it's rendered, neither in Firefox nor IE.In fact, using the source code at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms366731.aspx with no modifications also results in the hoverstyle not working.
This problem seems to be "fixed" if you specify the css attribute declaratively, for example, StaticMenuItemStyle-BackColor="Yellow". Alternatively, if you specify RenderingMode="table" then the hoverstyle seems to work. It's only when you're using a cssclass with a list that things seem to mess up.
Finally, I notice that in the rendered html, the control embeds some styles between /* */ and /* */ comments that affects the final appearance of the menu control, sometimes overwriting a cssclass you specified (ex: the margin for dynamic menus can only be controlled with the HorizontalOffset property, and not by css). This is undesirable, but I don't see anything that seems to overwrite the behavior of hover elements. Actually, the .hoveritem class doesn't appear anywhere in the markup at all, but when you specify the StaticMenuItemStyle-BackColor property, then the value is rendered correctly in this block of styles.
I've defined node styles for my TreeView instance in markup (using <LevelStyles> for example). Everything renders correctly in IE7/8 but, when rendering in Chrome, Safari or FireFox, the styles are not being applied. From looking at the source code for the page, I can see that the various runtime css classes are being injected into the top of the page, but the class attributes on the tags (within the generated TreeView HTML) are empty (class=""). In IE, the class attributes contain references to the classes that were injected into the page.
Can anyone explain why this is happening? I can see no logical explanation for this, and it's a big issue - My client primarily uses Safari, as they're Mac based.
I'm try to add a combobox to my form which i have done and populate it with the infomation i need but i want to stop the user from being able to edit the first 5 character in the textbox part of the combo box( 1 is this possible 2 am i going about it in the right way).
I have 3 columns fro a db to enter ips ie 123.456.7.89 at the start if each number i want (SE1)(SE2)(SE3) which i can do at the momment . So I get in the combobox list 3 items with (SE1)123.456.7.89 OR just (SE1) depending of i a result is returned from the DB. However i don't want the user to be able to edit out the (SE?) part of the sting in the textbox. When editing i've tried used the text change event to try and capture the change and make sure the string.length > 5 , but the event does not fire also when i leave the combobox it it adds to the combox list. If I refersh it goes back to how it should be with only the 3 items.
it binding correctly(datasource dynamically binded) and it raises event too while changing index but it is not raising event when we manually clearing the combobox text..if currently combobox having text "ASP" then i manually select that entire text and using del key i am deleting but it is not raising event for me.. when i change index it automatically raising event...i need to raise event while combobox is empty...
I have a problem with CascadingDropDown... I have two related comboboxes, where the second is a slave of the first (e.g. country the first, cities the second). What I want is that if I select one country from combobox 1 then the second must be "filtered" by that selection (it should display all the cities inside the selected country, and the actual CascadingDropDown implementation is OK), but if I leave the combobox 1 in the default option (e.g. "Please select a country") I want the second to display all the cities I have in the database. The problem is that when selecting default option for combobox 1 the second combobox is disabled and a postback to my webservice never occurs.
Is there a way to programmatically select the entire string of the selected item in the AJAX Combobox? What I'm trying to do is bascially on a State/City selection.
1. User selects a State from the first combobox. This triggers the City combobox to be populated. The item(0) is "Select One:".
2. I want the entire "Select One:" to be hightlight as if the user had used their mouse and highlighted all the text.
The reason for this that I'd like the user to be able to start typing the city without needing to clear out the "Select One:" manually.
I have a user control I created in asp.net 3.5. The user control has some buttons and a modal popup extender inside of it. I have added the control to one of the columns of my gridview. The propblem I am having is when I click on any other button in my control, then click on the button that displays the modal popup(client side), the grayed out modal popup area appears behind the grid, and I cant see nor access my panel. Here is my source for my user control.(I have tried playing with the z-index and other things, but nothing seems to work).
I have a question. How do I correctly derive from a script control? Especially how to correctly define the script descriptors.
Let's say, I have a MyScriptControl class implementing IScriptControl:
[Code]....
In the derived class, how Do I correctly overwrite the GetScriptDescriptors method? Should I just call base.GetScriptDescriptors, enumerate through them and exchange the Type name everywhere? Or is there a more clean feeling approach to that?
I was trying to use CssClass="WindowsStyle" with the following CSS. Its working fine if WindowsXP theme is selected but when the theme is changed it looks odd (different from other controls).
I wish to have the ComboBox similar to the style used by other controls. Please give me the solution for this issue.
I understand the issue is with the button(background-image: url(../images/windows-arrow.gif);) but what could be the alternate solution?CSS used
I want to create a dll Only for Ajax ComboBox. I mean I want when I add this dll in toolbax, I able to drag Ajax Combo Box control on web form.Ajax provided source code & JavaScript files for ComboBox but how I can Create a dll from this.
I'm using jQuery to store a value in a HiddenField control that my UpdatePanel can then grab as it's updating to help display the correct data. I've got everything working in Safari, but it doesn't seem like the HiddenField is retaining the correct value for the UpdatePanel in Firefox. In the Async Page Load function I put:
[Code]....
(CurrentHashValue returns the Value property of the HiddenField.) In Safari, I see the correct output, but in Firefox 4, I see it output and empty string for CurrentHashValue on AsyncPostBack. However, if I add an alert in to my JavaScript:
[Code]....
The correct value is displayed. Could this be because the HiddenField is not in the UpdatePanel? I'm not used to seeing such different behavior between Safari and Firefox. Makes me scared to even try it in IE. If you'd like to see this in action, here is the page: [URL]
well my problem is that when i try to include a calendar extender inside a gridview , which is inside a calendar extender, it doesnt appear correctly , here you have an image how it appears , would you mind telling me what is happening please.
I developed a webapp which is working great in IE8, and newer versions of Safari, Opera, Firefox and Chrome. I've noticed that there are many things wrong with the page in IE7. Resizing isn't working properly, margins aren't being set correctly. Floating within a cleared div isn't working property. My unordered lists with a display:inline are not displaying correctly.I'm just not sure where to start with this. I feel like i need to be supporting IE 7. Is this a common issue with other developers?Edit : for example....a page will with div's containing these classes does not work....TreasureContainer
I have a page with an updatepanel, which at runtime has controls dynamically created. The controls are saved within the cache, and readded to the page upon postback each time when needed. Sometimes the controls need to change, sometimes not. In most of my cases, if I just re-add the control to the page without any changes to the control AJAX will leave the control alone on the client-side leaving me with what I expect to see, which is no change. If I make a change, it obviously updates correctly.
Now, I have added a literal control which defines an iFrame which points to another page. ie:
If I re-add this control on postback, with a change, I get the item on the page as I expect. If I make no changes to the .Text and simply re-add the control to the page, it flashes as though it has been changed and then re-requests the page defined by the src. The whole point of me caching this, is to stop the client-side from updating a control that has not changed, removing a flashing screen and all the resizing that goes with it.
