Apr 15, 2010
i have problem in using ajax control , till morning it everything was file , now when i add any new ajax control it shows the error Control canot be created because visual studio cannot find the control's type in the control assembly then if i press OK it says The operation could not be completed . invalid FORMATETC structure
I have visual studio 2010 ultimate installed on my system. I have downloaded the Ajaxcontrol Toolkit extension 4 for the same and import the dll from tool box. But the tools showing the version 4.1.40412, when I wish to drag drop them to page I could not do that so. I have checked with the default Script manager version and found that it is of version 4.0.0.0
I have been facing a problem in implementing AJAX control tool kit.Currently am using visual studio 2005 for development, downloaded the ajax control toolkot from the follwoing URL. Downloaded the toolkit from [URL]As instructed in the page, if we add the solution file to the project and when we proceed to build the solution, landing in the follwoing error " The type or namespace name 'Script' does not exist in the namespace 'System.Web' (are you missing an assembly reference?)" Unable to add a reference System.Web.Script.
I was using VWD 2008 Express, then uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Now I am using VWD 2010 Express. Pretty much everything seems to work, except one single AJAX control. Did this change between 2008 and 2010? I'm not even sure if I have AJAX installed, actually. I'm thinking that I need to download and install AJAX, perhaps. The control is in my project (from 2008). I'm trying to copy the control, which didn't change, to my site, and having a heck of a time with it.
Does anyone know what could be preventing this AJAX control from being copied to my site? I already have a control in the site just updating all files since I upgraded to VWD 2010.
i open visual studio 2008 and create a new project, in this project i use the ajaxcontroltoolkit, now in the vs toolbox i add a new tab, and named it AjaxcontrolToolkit, then i click on it and select choose items, in the .net framework components i browseto the ajaxcontroltoolkit dll, then all the ajaxcontroltoolki controls appears in the tab, an work fine, but when i close the vs and start it again i lost that tab, there are any way to keep in this tab for the next restart of vs?
I am using Visual studio 2012, I want to install Ajax Toolkit in my Project. From where to get Ajax Toolkit for VS2012? And what are the steps to add refrence (ajax .dll) into the project. Also I want to know that what things need to take care when using Ajax Toolkit in Project, both at client and server side.
I am using Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate. The problem that am Facing is when I drag a component such as the "AsyncFileUpload" control upon the designer what i get instead of a textbox, as I used to get in VS08 is this chunk of code. I dont see the control working nor the bin folder which was a part of the VS08 Solution Explorer when you use Ajax.
[code]....
I really don't understand what to do with this code. This toolkit was by default present with the VS10 Ultimate Package. The code gets fully compiled but the screen is full of such codes. I am in a middle of completing an application and am stuck due to this .
I have a drop down list (created during form design) with auto postback enabled. And I use AJAX to prevent 'visible postback'.
When a user choose an item from the drop down list, the system will then perform a postback and created a set of form control's such as label, drop down list and text box for entry.
Then, I will have a button (created during form design), and when I click on the button, i want to find for the form control that are created after the post back, but I cant find them!
I wonder if those form controls are render to the web form?? But I have no problem finding the drop down list that is created during design time.
I have a custom control that is based off the gridview control located at: here The control is basically a gridview that automatically creates a column of checkboxes that can be used to "check" individual rows in the gridview. During the gridview's "CreateColumns" event, the "checkboxcolumn" is created dynamically. The checkboxcolumn also contains another checkbox in the header that is used to "select/deselect all" checkboxes in the column. Since the gridview does not automatically remember the state of the checkboxes in the checkboxcolumn on postback, I added a method to the control called "SaveCheckBoxState" which stores the indexes of the checked rows in Viewstate, and then I modified the "OnRowDataBound" event to check the Viewstate and reset the checkboxes based on the Viewstate.
I then added a call to "SaveCheckBoxState" in the gridview's OnSorting and OnPageIndexChanging events. This works great so long as I'm sorting or changing pages. However, I need it to update the viewstate everytime someone clicks or unclicks one of the checkboxes. At this time, the checkboxes are rendered with an onclick event that calls some javascript to highlight the row, or in the case of the checkbox in the header, to select/deselect all checkboxes. I need to call the "SaveCheckBoxState" method from the javascript used by the customcontrol, or I need to find a way to modify viewstate from javascript and perform the same action as "SaveCheckBoxState".
I've tried adding the "SaveCheckBoxState" to the onclick event declaration in the checkboxes, but when run, it simply tells me that the method is undefined. It doesn't exist in the parent page, and I don't think I should have to make an event for the parent page to pass the click to. It seems to me this should be all self contained within the custom control. Does anyone know how I can acheive this? Here is the code for the gridview OnPreRender event where the onclick event of the checkbox is set:
protected override void OnPreRender(EventArgs e) { // Do as usual base.OnPreRender(e); // Adjust each data row foreach (GridViewRow r in Rows) { // Get the appropriate style object for the row TableItemStyle style = GetRowStyleFromState(r.RowState); // Retrieve the reference to the checkbox CheckBox cb = (CheckBox)r.FindControl(InputCheckBoxField.CheckBoxID); // Build the ID of the checkbox in the header string headerCheckBoxID = String.Format(CheckBoxColumHeaderID, ClientID); // Add script code to enable selection cb.Attributes["onclick"] = String.Format("ApplyStyle(this, '{0}', '{1}', '{2}')", SelectedRowStyle.CssClass, style.CssClass, headerCheckBoxID); // Update the style of the checkbox if checked if (cb.Checked) { r.BackColor = SelectedRowStyle.BackColor; r.ForeColor = SelectedRowStyle.ForeColor; r.Font.Bold = SelectedRowStyle.Font.Bold; } else { r.BackColor = style.BackColor; r.ForeColor = style.ForeColor; r.Font.Bold = style.Font.Bold; } } }
I have a Web Site project, and within it I have a user Web Control defined in an ascx file.The control is added to the Site.Master, and it shows up correctly on the page and everything is fine.I need to override some of the control's fields on one of the pages that derive from Site.Master.
// In OnLoad: MyControlName control = (MyControlName) Page.Master.GetBaseMasterPage().FindControl("controlID"));
The issue is that MyControlName doesn't register as a valid Type on the child page. If I add a second instance of the control to the child page directly, the above works as needed, but if the control isn't placed directly on the page, and instead is only defined in the master page, the type is undefined. The control is not in a namespace, and is defined within the project, so I don't know why it is having such an issue location the appropriate type.If I put a breakpoint in the OnLoad, the type listed for the control is ASP.my_control_name_ascx, but using that does not work either. Why can't the child class reference the correct type? Can I fix this?
I'm trying to find a TextBox in the code-behind page, it's inside a nested master page and also then inside another control container (it's inside ctrlCheckoutShippingAddress also) .
i have used an login control for the users who have not logged in and defined login verification method on the click event of the button but while excuting i do get an error
