Feb 15, 2011I have a page to wich I had several controls dynamically. When the page is posted back via Ajax, the values of the dynamically control do not make it server side. However, everything works well if the page is posted back in the normal way ( without Ajax).
I need the post back to be done via Ajax because I need to use the Callback function to perform other tasks in the UI once the call returns.I found this excellent article but it doesn't discuss ajax:

Dynamic Event Handler Lost After Postback?
Dec 22, 2010I have a asp.net page with a button, the event the button needs to perform on it's click event needs to vary, dependant on what options are selected further up the page. The button itself is included in the master page, and it's actions are affected by selections made in the child page.
To do this, I have a method in the master page, that is called by the child page, when a users presses a button, that passes the Eventhandler to be used by that button, that is then assigned to masterpage eventhandler for that button:

Then, when the save button on the master page, it calls that eventhandler

The event handler is assigned ok in the first section of code, however because pressing the save button causes a postback, the SaveButtonEvent event handler is set back to being null, and so nothing happens.
How can I preserve the contents of SaveButtonEvent Event Handler during postback, or is there a better way to be doing this?
EDIT:
I can get this to work by saving the EventHandler to the session, but this doesn't seem like a great idea.

Jun 7, 2010I'm evaluating using Ajax in a new project and so I've developed a simple web page to test a few things, however even the simplest task seems to cause my session to be cleared. I am using VS2008 with .Net 3.5 SP1 and the page is in my existing solution which has several custom handlers and modules in the web.config. Below is the code I'm using, it's a simple test which puts a variable into the session then on the buttons postback tries to get the same variable, however it always fails as the session is blank.

Feb 24, 2014I have an accordian with 4 panes. These panes are designed to submit data. I default to the 1st pane. When I submit the 1st panel, the data is submitted to the database as expected. When I attempt to submit to the 3rd panel, the button does not fire the code behind. Is there a reason the 1st panel would work but not the 3rd? I've included the code used to call code behind for the 1st and 2nd panels.

AJAX :: Accordion Control Closes On PostBack
Jan 1, 2014I have taken one accordion inside that multiple accordionpane in that have taken mutiple linkbutton's inside panes but the thing is when i m clicking on any linkbutton of second pane.the page related to that is opening but the second pane get's collapsed and first one get's opened.
So, I want any of the linkbutton clicked of any accordionpane, that accordionpane should be remain opened.

AJAX :: Accordion Pane Header Loses CSS Style On Click (Postback Suppressed)
Apr 30, 2010First time using an Accordion Control and I'm having some trouble with the CSS, as per the subject description. I have only created the headers so far and assigned some basic CSS to them. Right now that CSS is only there to limit the width (and therefore clickable area) of the header to the width of the image that the header is represented by. This works fine until I click on one of the headers and then its width property is lost. Same for the other headers, they are fine for the first click and then after that they lose their style. There is no postback caused by selecting a header so this is not the reason that the CSS is being lost.

Mar 2, 2011I run into this problem while playing with accordion for a project. Sometimes VS 2008 auto generates code, without me wanting to!!!. Less generally I have an Accordion with 2 Accordion Panes in it. When modifing properties of the Accordion VS 2008 adds an Accordion extender and duplicates the two Accordion Panes!

AJAX Partial Postback / Dynamic JavaScript Values?
Jan 20, 2011I am working with a user control which is inside an UpdatePanel. The user control uses swfobject to add a flash object to a div in the user control. Part of the functionality of the user control is it allows the user to change 'channel'. The channel is set and handled in the code behind hence the call in the JavaScript below to <%=channel%>.
The problem I have is that when the new channel is saved, the JavaScript code below is still pointing to the old channel. The only way I can fix this is to refresh the page via the code behind, but I'm thinking there must be a better way to do this..

Why Value Lost Every Postback
Mar 16, 2011just wanna ask if ASP.NET has a Module and Class file also. I used module and class file in every windows application that Im making so that my code is reusable. Does ASP.NET have this also. And ow, someone told me not to use this kind of method.

Mar 3, 2011I have an .aspx page which consists of 5 tabs. Each tab content is a .ascx page. i.e. i have 5 ascx pages and on the click on eachtab i load the particular ascx page for that tab. Consider i have one textbox and one button on each of the 5 ascx pages. When i type something in each of the textbox and when i traverse to other tabs the data remains on the textbox on all the pages. But when i click on the buttons on any of the tabs , postback happens and the data is lost. Now what i want is consider i type "Mark" on my txt1 on tab1. and i type "steve" on my txt2 on tab2. When i click on the button on tab1 and traverse to tab 2 i want the data to stay on tab2?

In my form I have a dropdown with autopostback=true where the user can select a topic to populate a checkbox list of categories. During that postback, the postedfile value is being lost and after a little research I have discovered that the posted file value is not maintained in viewstate for security reasons.

Viewstate Lost On Postback For .net Sitecore Page?
Oct 27, 2010I'm getting some strange behaviour with viewstate being lost on postback for a .net application using Sitecore. I'm assuming it might be some config variable somewhere but I'm new to Sitecore and don't really know where to start looking.
UPDATE: Sitecore has now gotten back to us with an answer. We had recently added the dtSearch module, and AutomaticDataBind was set to true in the dtSearch.config which overrides the setting in the web config. We've now removed it and it works fine again.
I've made a mini test if that might help. It's two usercontrols on one page, both with a repeater. When updating the viewstate gets lost so even if I'm binding the updated repeater again the data for the other one will be lost.

Nov 18, 2010I am working on an ASP.NET application (well supposed to be deploying it about 3 days ago) and my hidden fields are loosing value when the form gets posted back..
I am using them to store information i write using javascript and on my own machine this works fine but as soon as i deploy it on our server everything else works except these values are lost..
I am using the .NET AJAX control toolkit on the same page and have noticed my calander datepicker also looses the data..
I have checked using firebug and the data is definitely getting post to the server but is getting lost somewhere!
