I have been working on this issue for ever. I did not come to see any solutions for my problem with the gridview autopostback. I have around 10 fields (bound columns) and 1 template field (a checkbox) in my gridview.All the fields should become editable when a user clicks on the "Edit" of the gridview.After that when the user checks or unchecks the checkbox, depending on that two other bound fields should become editable or uneditable.Please help me.My code is as below:
AuctionDates.aspx.cs:
public
void HasJrMembers_CheckedChanged(object sender,
EventArgs e)

I have three AJAX sliders and each has a:
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="Slider1" EventName="TextChanged" />
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="Slider2" EventName="TextChanged" />
<asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger ControlID="Slider3" EventName="TextChanged" />
When I do a TextChanged event on slider1 (by dragging the slider, changing the value), the protected void Slider1_TextChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) event FIRES, however, the TWO other sliders, protected void Slider2_TextChange, and protected void
Slider3_TextChange also FIRES. What gives? why do they fire when I am physically only sliding the slider1 across. The two other sliders values did not change on the webform, yet the event fired.
In order for the event to fire for slider1, I had to insert "Autopostback=true" in the <asp:TextBox ID="Slider1" autopostback="true" OnTextChanged="Slider1_TextChanged">. For <asp:TextBox2> and <asp:Textbox3> I did not put the autopostback event for now.

I have two textboxes insie an updatepanel, the same update panel also has a trigger from a Clear Button from the other update panel. The first Textbox AutoPostBack is set to true. The first time when the textchanged event is fired, everything work as expected--the labels got populated, the focus is set to the second textbox. However after I click on the Clear button, i entered something to the first Textbox, its TextChangedEvent fires--the labels got populate, the focus seems set correctly to the 2nd textbox, but I
cannot enter anything to the second TextBox. it seems like the form is not active--when i hit tab, I expect the focus move to next control, instead it moves to the URL box. Turn off the AutoPostback then put a button next to the first textbox will fix the problem, but I am wondering if there is other workaround to keep the AutoPostback of the 1st textbox?
I am using IE8, here is a simple test page:

I have an updatepanel with some textboxes and dropdownlists they have autopostback set to true. They are all defined as triggers on the updatepanel. I want the user to be able to change data in a textbox and tab to the next and have the text selected in each textbox he enters. My problem is I receive the first postback fine, make some database updates, then exit. The next textbox is not being selected, so I added thge final instruction in the data changed event to nexttextbox.focus. That seems to work, however the nexttextbox does not have the text selected. How can I do that?

I really have no idea on this problem on the cascading dropdownlist. I have a cascading dropdownlist that bind with calling the web services.
I wan to do a autopostback to get the value of the Album GUId so that i can query out all the photo list of that album. it is working well if my page without the AlbumGUId query string.
my problem is:
when i redirect from other page and passing the Album GUId querystring to this page, it will display all my photo for this album guid. but when i change the album to Select which should be able to display all the Photos, it cannot display out. It only will work is when i choose another album and then go back to Select then it only can work..

I've got a TextBox with AutoPostBack="true" and OnTextChanged property set.
The textbox is located inside a Repeater, which in turn is located inside an UpdatePanel.
Problem is - whenever the TextBox postsback, the whole page gets reloaded, instead of the UpdatePanel only.
Here's how the thing looks:
[Code]....
Interesting thing is, if I take the TextBox out of the repeater, it refreshes only the UpdatePanel. So is if I put a Button inside the repeater - only the UpdatePanel gets refreshed. But whenver I place an AutoPostBack-ing control inside the Repeater, the whole page gets refreshed.

The subject is explanatory, but here are some details:
I want to update a repeater when SelectedIndex value changes for a dropdown list. The problem is Nothing happens.
My aspx page is present in a nested master page. and neither autopostback works nor update panel. i have set the AsyncPostBack trigger on SelectedIndexChange event.
Please let me know what am i doing wrong or what am i missing.
PS: I have never worked on ajax before so I might have overlooked something.

However - I want the form to Post Back every time the radio button is changed, as opposed to having to click a button to "submit".
As the radio buttons here are not .net controls, but standard HTML radio buttons, I'm not sure how I can do this.

I have an gridview with 3 columns. As default I entered for each columnns an headertext, but depending on an language parameter in the data the headertext is changed on page_load with a SetLabels function.
Recently I added an templatefield textbox with an autopostback=true and an ontextchanged event :
When a user changes the text in the textbox all events are executed properly BUT my headertext is set back to the default value (from the .ascx) even tho page_load event is executing properly WITH the SETLABELS function.

I have a Gridview that provides the user the student name for a particular class, a dropdown list to enter grades. If a grade of 'U' is given, a textbox appears in which the last day of attendance must be listed.
It works... though not as conviently as it could; the faculty would like to be able to tab from one dropdownlist to next in succession.
On each ddlGrades changes I write the value to the database and if a 'U' was chosen, display the textBox... but I can't figure how to set focus on the next ddlGrades control, or even the same ddlGrades control that initiated the postbock.
Below is my simplified .aspx followed by the codebehind

What I have done is I have Amount as Templatefield and have set Autopostback = true. In the event handler for textChanged I have function for calculate Amount which will calculate the amount and set the calculated value in a textbox. But I am getting an error message:

In trying to improve 'user experience' with a GridView, I have an administrative application where a GridView is displaying records from a SQL table. One of the columns is a bit column, and is displayed as a checkbox in the GridView. I want the user to be able to simply check or uncheck the box while viewing the GridView, and the value in that column for that record is immediately updated. So I set AutoPostBack="true" on the CheckBox in the GridView's Template Field.
But tests are indicating that the column value is not actually getting changed, even though the page appears to post back and displays the newly checked (or unchecked) checkbox correctly. But if I check the SQL table directly the column's value has not changed.

I have a checkbox placed inside a gridview:
<GridView><asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Driver"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:CheckBox ID="CheckBoxDriver" AutoPostBack="true" OnCheckedChanged="GridView_Persons_SelectedIndexChanged" ValidationGroup='<%# Eval("ID") + "-" +((GridViewRow)Container).RowIndex %>' CssClass="CXDriver" runat="server" Checked='false' /> </ItemTemplate> </GridView>
For example: A listViewItem 1 has 3 drivers are checked, A listViewItem 2 has 2 drivers are checked.
Therefore, if changing the selectedIndex of the list, the checkbox indexChanged event will be fired.
How could I disable the autopostback of the checkbox during the listview item changed.

Buenos nachos, to be brief, my question is: is it possible to allow users to add new items to a combobox at runtime without having the autopostback property set to true? I understand it needs to postback if a new item is added, but I do not want the box to postback if the user simply selects a different value!
The tag I currently have is below. Without having the autopostback="true", the comboxbox doesn't allow the user to add new items to the box >_<' Any thoughts?
<ajx:ComboBox ID="cbCompany" runat="server" Width="226px" DropDownStyle="DropDown"
OnItemInserted="addCompany" AutoCompleteMode="SuggestAppend">
</ajx:ComboBox>
I know I could add a few more controls and do an easy workaround, just wondering if it is possible to do it this way.

I have a Cascading drop down list that is working fine to load the correct lists however I would like to have the last one initiate a query and display a datagrid on the same page containing the results of the query. Without Ajax involved this seems rather easy by using autopostback on the drop downs. If I could do it through Ajax that would be great but I can settle with having the page to reload to display the data. Right now I'm not sure how to do either. I enabled autopostback on the last drop down and wrote a method for it but I get an error at runtime saying:
Invalid postback or callback argument

firstly,i am going nuts with this problem. here it is:
i have a masterpage that contains a dynamically populated dropdownlist. i have autopostback =true and an onselectedindexchanged function. users user the dd to choose from a list of accounts that are available to them to edit/view. this portion works great. users pick an option and it postsback with the correct item. the item chosen gets set in the users profile so it defaults to it next time they log in.
now the problem arises on certain pages that use this masterpage. the child page has a timer, an updatepanel, and a gridview inside the updatepanel. the timer tick event fires and calls databind for the gridview. this all works great---EXCEPT, if the timer ticks while i am looking through items in the dropdownlist, the gridview updates, but also THE ONSELECTEDINDEXCHANGED event fires for the dd, even though i haven't actually clicked the dd to change it. just clicked it to make the dropdown active to
see its items. once the timer ticks, it automatically selects the dd item that i happen to be on... it is as if the updatepanel is causing a full page refresh.
i can use the timer_tick event to set label values, and it works like an update panel should....only updating the content inside the updatepanel. it is only when i am trying to choose an item from the dd in the masterpage that a full postback occurs. this creates a problem, because whatever item in the dd i happen to be on when the timer ticks is the one that gets selected. the selectedindexchaged event is supposed to call a full postback, but not the updatepanelupdate caused from the timer tick. my dropdownlist in masterpage
