AJAX :: Hosting Providers For AJAX.NET And AJAXToolkit?
Nov 22, 2010
We are using Network Solutions, but we are getting some issues with one of our web applications. It's because we're using UpdatePanels and they don't support AJAX.NET. So does anyone have any hosting providers they can recommend that provide .NET 3.5 framework, AJAX.NET, and AJAX Toolkit hosting?
I am plannning to use the html editor control of asp.net ajax library in my website. what I need to do to deploy the asp.net ajax library on the server that is hosting my website ?
I used the AjaxToolkit AutoComplete today. It works fine. But what I hate is that I have to use the "CompletionSetCount" at 5 or 6 only so it doesn't reach the following textbox on my form.
The problem is that the dropdownlist of the AutoComplexeExtender gets under my textboxes, so it hides some items of the list.
When I try to play with the z-order of the "CompletionListCssClass" or "CompletionListItemCssClass", then the list appearance is all messed up
This is what I see when I click on arrow which is an image in DropArrowImageUrl - UI is weird. Changing image does not help. I am sure that it should be a common problem. Code is very simple:
I am creating a nested accordion in the code behind which is populated from my data table. The requirenment is
1. Main Accordin - create department Panes
2. sub accordin - Each department pane has a accordin in the contnet are.
3. sub accordin panes - people from that department show up as panes in sub accordin.
I was able to impelment this model but the problem is that the sub accordin ( with people) would not slide. First one is opened by default and i see hand on the other header panes but they dont slide (up and down). They do have a content though. P.S - if i implement the same nested according in aspx it works fine. My code
[Code]....
Update - I found that I get "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.ArgumentException: Value must not be null for Controls and Behaviors.Parameter name: element" javascript error when i try to create the nested accordin.
However, it does not set the width of DropArrowImage correctly.
I found the following post http://ajaxcontroltoolkit.codeplex.com/workitem/24194 but I am not sure of where to find DropDownBehavior.js to implement proposed solution.
Is it possble somehow to set the widht of DropArrow?
How can I achieve hover effect for the ajaxtoolkit combobox. I just need an outline for the entire combo i.e. outline for combo-textbox and combo-button when hovering over the combobox otherwise it should return to the normal outline color.
I could only get the hovering effect for combo-textbox alone and that too an outline creates at outer of the existing combo-textbox outline.
i put PopUpcontrolExtender in my page to learn more about this toolkit base on the Ajax tutorial but ,when i click on the button, popup modal form popped up and disapear by itself fast, here is my code:
and also i can not put DropShadow="true" in my PopupControlExtender because i will get this Error: "AjaxControlToolkit.PopupControlExtender' does not have a public property named 'DropShadow'"
When I clicked Header area, Content opened and have "Slide effect". but when I clicked Header's "ImageButton", it do something at codebehidn, Content opened but no "Slide effect". I want slide effect, how to do it,
[aspx] <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <AjaxToolkit:Accordion ID="AccordionMenu" runat="server" SelectedIndex="0" HeaderCssClass="accordionHeader" ContentCssClass="accordionContent" AutoSize="None" FadeTransitions="true" Width="200px" SuppressHeaderPostbacks="false"> <Panes> <AjaxToolkit:AccordionPane ID="AccordionPane1" runat="server"> <Header>Pane 1 <asp:ImageButton ID="ImageButton1" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/images/expand.jpg" /> </Header> <Content> The Details of Item1. </Content> </AjaxToolkit:AccordionPane> <AjaxToolkit:AccordionPane ID="AccordionPane2" runat="server"> <Header>Pane 2 <asp:ImageButton ID="ImageButton2" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/images/expand.jpg" /> </Header> <Content> The Details of Item2. </Content> </AjaxToolkit:AccordionPane> </Panes> </AjaxToolkit:Accordion> <p></p> <asp:Label ID="Label1" runat="server" /> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> [.vb] Protected Sub ImageButton1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.ImageClickEventArgs) Handles ImageButton1.Click Me.Label1.Text = "[Call Header Function 1]" End Sub Protected Sub ImageButton2_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.ImageClickEventArgs) Handles ImageButton2.Click Me.Label1.Text = "[Call Header Function 2]" End Sub
I use ajaxToolkit:ModalPopupExtender to show a modal window panel. The panel among other things contains a "Submit" button. I would like to call a code behind function on Submit. First I tried this:
[Code]....
But btnSubmitOnHold_Click() is never called. Then I replaced OnClick="btnSubmitOnHold_Click" with OnClientClick="SubmitPutOnHold" and added
<script type="text/javascript"> function SubmitPutOnHold() { alert('blah'); } </script>
my application is running in visual studio 2005, i used ajax control toolkit for .Net framework 2.0.but now i want to use ajaxcontroltoolkit latest version which is for .net framework 3.5 in my application which is running on .net framework 2.0 and visual studio 2005.how to integrate or use ajaxcontrol toolkit ?because i have some functionality like there is one file upload control and when click button it will take 2 to 3 min for upload so i need progress bar with loading gif file.because of asynchronous postback fileupload control has not file.so i must assign postback trigger to button if i assign postback trigger to button than loading gif or progress bar not working.so i want to use AsynchFileUpload control of newly release toolkit.
is there any way to do it? or any other way.my client also not want to switch over it's application from 2005 to 2008.My code is below
i used Ajax Editor in Sevral web pages in som pages the buttons of ForColor and BackColor dont show the Color Palent i dont know if it has any special properties or not.
In my application i use iframe (to be more specific; Greybox tool). Sometimes i had an unkown error when i open page in iframe. Then i applied this fix : [URL] and that unknown error disseppeared. But i have another problem now:( I am using following script to focus to the first textbox whenever my input pages are opened in iframe.
aField = document.getElementById('txt_PID');setTimeout("aField.focus()", 50); After i applied previous fix, i get this error when i load page in iframe for the first time :
Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of type that does not accept focus. Here, txt_PID doesnt contain any ajaxtoolkit things. (also Enabled= true and Visible=true etc.) . Last thing, my current test page contains just 3 controls: txt_PID just plain Asp.TextBox ajaxHTMLEditor another textboxt with MaskedEditExtender. If i remove HTMLEditor from page; i dont get that error( Can't move focus...) and also i dont get first error which i applied that fix in toolkit.
and it was working well even After I upgraded my wevbsite to .net version 4 but when I started a new website from scratch in vs2010 using .net4 when I use ajax toolkit in this new site it is registered as folowing
and when I run the page I get the error The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>) I don't Know what is the reason for this. I noticed another thing. in my old website I was using thckbox script by using the files common.js, jquery-1.3.2.js,jquery.thickbox.js and puting them in a Javascript folder ad then registering them in Script manager as following
this was working well also but in my new site the jquery file version was jquery-1.4.1.js but also I added the old version f the javascripts files in the built in Scripts folder that is created by default b the new site and followed the same way in registering them in the script managerchange the JavaScript folder to the built in folder Scripts
but this doesn't work also in the new site I think that there is something diffirent in the 2 case which leads to this change in performance I wish your support and advice about how to solve this matter
i have installed ajaxtoolkit 3.5 but when i debug i am getting this error Could not load type 'System.Web.UI.ScriptReferenceBase' from assembly 'System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' even i have changed my tags to
i AsyncFileUpload this is working fine in my local server but when i upload the files into my hosting server no file is uploading. this is my code to save the file.
Protected Sub tbnSave_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles tbnSave.Click Dim cmd As New MySqlCommand Dim cn As New MySqlConnection cn.ConnectionString = "server=localhost;User Id=root; password=papidm;database=jis;Persist Security Info=True" cn.Open() cmd.Connection = cn cmd.CommandType = System.Data.CommandType.Text cmd.CommandText = "Insert into PhotoAlbum (Photo,PhotoName,Descr,AlbumId) values (@Photo,@PhotoName,@Descr,@AlbumID)" cmd.Parameters.Add(New MySqlParameter("@Photo", "~/images/" + txtFileName.Text + ".jpg")) cmd.Parameters.Add(New MySqlParameter("@PhotoName", txtFileName.Text)) cmd.Parameters.Add(New MySqlParameter("@Descr", TextBox2.Text)) cmd.Parameters.Add(New MySqlParameter("@AlbumID", ddlArchive.SelectedValue)) cmd.ExecuteNonQuery() fileName = MapPath("~/images/") + txtFileName.Text + ".jpg" AsyncFileUpload1.SaveAs(fileName) End Sub
