I have an HTML Editor in a modal popup triggered by a link on a detail page. The Editor can be used multile times in the same session. If a user adds content and then saves it all is ok. If he the selects to add more content the text from the previous attempt appears in the editor.

I have a modalPopupExtender which I activate using the showPopup script that is shown below:

I use another script that does a webservice call and fills the popup with the results using innerHTML. The showPopup and webservice function are called at the same time and the modal pops up and is filled with the results from the web service
I use clrPopup function to to try and clear and then close the popup. I want to clear the contents of the div before it's closed. Why doesnt the clrPopup() function above NOT seem to be working? The popup closes but if I open it with a standard asp linkbutton (the one that the modal is actually hooked to) instead of a using the javascript link which I wrote, then the contents from the webservice call are still there...like $find('MainContent_ModalPopupExtender1').innerHTML = 'Fred Flinstone'; was never successful?

I was wondering if there was an easy way to change the output generation properties of the HTML editor.
I need to change it from the current XHTML standard (spans, etc) to legacy styles; <b>, <u>, <i>, etc.
I wish to execute a javascript function in HTML Editor content. Hower, I give me the error "object expected". It seems like the browser cannot locate my javascript file.
Here is my setup:
- I have an external javascript file, "myscript.js" under "script" folder which has "test" function which contains a single "alert()" command.
- I referenced to "myscript.js" via <script src=....> tag (and also tried using Script manager's ScriptReference Path, same result).
- In my default.aspx page, I have a button which call "test" on mouseover event, which works call "test" correctly whenever I mouseover.
- In my default.aspx, I have the HTML Editor, with the this HTML content:
<span id="0001" onmouseover="alert('ok');">OK</span>
<span id="0002" onmouseover="test('not ok');">Not OK</span>
When I mouseover "ok" alert() script executed, but it give "object expected" error on I mouse over "not ok", it look like the browser cannot find "test" in myscript.js.
How do I reference this a script file inside the HTML Editor content?
I Have Two Column In Dataabase One For Editor Contents with Formatting And another For Editor's Text Only. or I want to filter only text part of editor content .
I also want to set default background and foreground colar of Editor and disable background color and foreground color button when formatted data will come from database.
I have an Editor control on my page and the user can go in use it hit save and that all works.
In another part of the page I have a simple dropdown to select a note and view it. When you push view it loads the text which was entered in via the editor control.
If the user used an order or unordered list. The text shows up but not the list part.
So if they did this:

Without the bullets. Same for the numbers.
I have it going to a literal control which should render the html, but it doesn't.
I went through the documentation and looked at the asp.net/webmatrix pages but could not find a RichTextEditor.
Is there one built into WebMatrix or can I just use the AjaxToolkit Html Editor or another 3rd party editor?

I use the HTML editor to capture a users post. It saves to an Access database and is displayed on our intranet. In english it works fine but we have users who post in spanish. Any special Spanish characture with accents (Such as Á ) do not get stored and redisplayed properly. Once saved to the db it appears as a black diamond with a question mark in it. When it's displayed on the web page it shows just a square box. I use server.htmlencode and decode if that helps. I can switch to HTML text view and put in the escape codes, but it's not an efficient way of expecting my users to work.

View 2 RepliesI have a requirement, where-in once a file is upoaded using the AsyncFileUpload control, I want the name of the uploaded file to be removed from the AsyncFileUpload control and it should show blank (as it was when the page was first loaded). Also, the control should allow uploading the same file immediately after the first upload is complete(assuming that the user deciedes to update the file after the first upload and wants to immediately upload the updated version of the file).
View 15 RepliesI am trying to write a customized Ajax HTML editor control and since noone knows how to resolve the problems I am having with including my source file SimpleEditor.cs inside my asp.net web application (refer to thread: [URL] I would like to know if I can compile the custom control into a .dll file and then somehow try using that inside my project. To start with I am creating a very simple editor with very little changes. Once I get it to work then I can move forward with putting in the rest of the customization. By the way in case anyone is interested I am trying to accomplish two things with my custom editor.
1 I want to reduce the buttons to just a few basic buttons.
2. I want to add a custom button to allow the user to insert a picture.
