AJAX :: How To Style Toolkit AsyncFileUploader Control
Nov 26, 2010
Ajax AsyncFileUploader is appreaing very bad in my ASP.Net(C#) web app.
Another very annoying thig is that; when its style is set to modren it does not show that grey image with the text "Select File" in any of the browser except IE 7.
While with "Tradition Style" the height of this control looks so squeezed in both IE 7 & IE 8 , And Is there any way so that we can change the style of that Browser button like the other buttons on out site and can we apply textbox skin on the uploader to it can shape like a textbox?
I am converting across an old popup system from an older app into a newer one and want to take advantage of the ajax control toolkit to do all of the popups.
Unfortunately the business will require me to make the popups look like the old version (essentially just another page opened in a smaller window and showing the title bar). The problem I can see with using the ajax toolkit is that there is no "title bar" that gets included with it as its not really a new window.
I currently have an Instance of the ASP.net ajax control toolkit combo box residing in a field set with a style of position:releative applied. The control also sits in a very plain table.
There are two problems with the display of the list:
The list does not sit flush with the text box. In I.E. 7 (which is the majority of my target audience, intranet where IE7 is the company standard) the list display about 10px below the fieldset, which is what the bottom margin of the fieldset is set to. In FF 2.0 the list sits sinificantly lower and off-set to the right.
Below the filed set there is more content in a div, also with a style of position:relative applied. The list from the combo box displays behind the content of this div, which is obviously an issue.
Removing position: releative from the fieldset resolves the display issue of the combo box, but results in other unwanted display side effects.
I am Getting the following error using the Numeric UpDown Control from Ajax Control Toolkit. Assembly 'AjaxControlToolkit, Version=3.0.30512.20315, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=28f01b0e84b6d53e' contains a Web resource with name 'AjaxControlToolkit.NumericUpDown.NumericUpDownBehavior.debug.js', but does not contain an embedded resource with name 'AjaxControlToolkit.NumericUpDown.NumericUpDownBehavior.debug.js'.
I'm hoping that somebody cleverer than I am can explain what's happening with my file uploading and how to improve it.My website is used by vets to submit photographs of tumours in horses for examination by another vet and so it's important that the pictures uploaded are high quality, and therefore the file size is large. Since they might be uploading details of several tumours at a time with several photos of each uploading times can be very long.
I accept that upload speeds are generally slower than download speeds and I have put notes on the page to advise the user to be patient while the images upload. However, I've noticed when using Google Chrome, which displays a percentage-complete in the status bar when files are being uploaded that what seems to happen is that when the user selects a picture from the asyncfileupload control it then slowly counts to 100% as the image is uploaded. But when they then click on the 'Save' button which is when code-behind uploads the file to the web server and writes an entry in the database it again counts to 100% at the same, slow speed.
It's as if the file is being uploaded twice. It's as if the file is being uploaded twice, but I've only coded it to happen once, when the 'Save' button is pressed. The first upload must be some part of the way the asyncfileupload control works. So am I using it incorrectly? Should I somehow be using the inbuilt, automated upload to get the image to my server rather than in the code-behind of the 'Save' button?
One other piece of information which may be relevant is that at the point the picture is uploaded by the asyncfileupload control there is no associated record in the database for it to be linked to. When the 'Save' button is clicked a record for that tumour is created first, then then the image(s) is uploaded and an associated record created with the image filename, so using the automated uploading of the asyncfileupload control may not be possible for me as at that point there is no record to link the filename to. If that's the case can I disable it somehow?
The Ajax control toolkit tab panel automatically inserts a space by all four corners of the body. For example, go to http://www.asp.net/ajax/ajaxcontroltoolkit/Samples/Tabs/Tabs.aspx and look at the TabPanel on the page. The is a space before "Signature:" and "Bio:" labels. How can I set the space-width to 0px; in the tabPanel body?
When I click the button to open the modal popup it shows the popup but then continues and forces a postback causing the page to reload and the modal popup to be hidden again. Here is the markup for the control:
I'm trying to use the Calendar control in a local intranet enviroment, so I need to put all the Javascript files locally, I've downloaded the Ajax Control Toolkit 40412 source code and extracted the Scripts from
"..AjaxControlToolkit_9c860ac12ae9SampleWebSitesAjaxClientWebSiteScripts",so I write the following code
i have a page with some control like update panel and cascading dropdownlist. I have added some asp require validators but it does not working.
I have an asp image button with a postback url set. When i click on this button, the validations does not occurs and the application goes to the next page.
ajaxcontrol toolkit combobox control, a picture is worth than a lot of words so here is the picif you are not able to view then here is the link

the problem is the items text in the combox box is having a square beneath at the second character which is hindering the visibility of the list. but the square is not appearing in the text area.
Adding an Accordion only creates the outer most tags. I then have to add the headercssclass, contentcssclass etc. info. Then i have to manually add <Pane> tags, and then add Accordion Pane controls. Using VWDE 2008, is there a way to customize the control so that adding the Accordion control automatically adds this other info? Ideally with 2 Accordion Panes to start, but even just getting the various Accordion properties and the <Pane> tags added would make it much more <Pane>less!
MSDN documentation says that the ScriptManager class is part of the System.Web.UI namespace and I see that I can create a ScriptManager object programmatically. However, I don't see the ScriptManager control on the front-end. Do I need to reference the Ajax Control Toolkit dll in order to have access to control?
i have used ajax control toolkit masked editor extender.i want to remove "_" from masking pattern and want to replace it with space. for ex. want " - - " instead of this
Can I use the latest AJAX Control Toolkit on a .net 2.0 project which will be deployed to a server with framework 2.0 only? If not, where can I download the latest AJAX Control Toolkit for framework 2.0?
At present we are using <ajax:TabContainer> to load tabs. I have 5 user controls inside <ajax:TabPanel>.
The problem is that all the data on these 5 pages gets loaded at once and increases the loading time as well as it is very hard to debug. Can we do lazy loading uisng TabContainer control? so that only the data of the current tab is loaded and when we click on the other tab then that's control data gets loaded.
I am wondering if it is possible to create AJAX Toolkit control using JavaScript/JQuery or not. I know that I can create controls at server (at design or code-behind) and interact with its properties using JavaScript but I would rather want to initalize and create controls at client side using JavaScript/JQuery.
When iam try to add ajax control dll file to my ajax toolkit given in visualstudio express edition 2005, i am getting the following error.
"There are no components in 'C:ProgramFilesMicrosoft ASP.NETASP.NET 2.0 Ajax Extensionsv1.0.61025AJAXExtensionsToolbox.dll' that can be placed on the toolbox." what is the error in this?
