1) Should I change the iframe to a User/Server control? or just a div?
2) I currently just have HTML links with load my iframe based on the page the user wants to see. How should I load (1) from the main links?
3) I have multiple levels of user controls. So control A could dynamically load Child controls...which each of those could load child controls. Do All these controls get a scriptManagerProxy? WHere should the original scriptManager go from (1)?

I want to retain the what the user had selected in the 2nd level Tabs before moving to the Work panel.

I have created a web application that docks other web applications into it.When an application is docked the app creates a link button in its "tool box" on the left hand side of the page, users can easily click on any link button to navigate to the desired docked app.
I have a web app that uses iframes to display other web applications inside it. In effect it is a docking application where users can easily access many web applications from within one main app, while staying within the main app. I am having challenges dynamically resizing the iframe based on the size of the application the user is accessing.I have searched the web and tried many ideas but have yet to discover the code that will do the trick.
First, for a docking web application is the iframe the best approach? I have see some posts on ajax but am uncertain how that will help.
Second, if an iframe is the way to do it does anyone have code that will completely liminate the need for iframe scroll bars?
Note:The applications docked in the main we app may be of any size and can change size as users interact with them.
Our website application needs to open other web sites Iframe.(Our application is web based tool to help high school children to analyze the websites. It has to show news websites to in one iframe and in rest of the page there will be questions related to the news website)
But since many websites use framekiller code, these sites take control of entire page. Is there any ternative way / solution to this problem? It is necessary to be able to open other sites in our website (in iframe or any alternate way), otherwise whole concept of our application will become void.
when i put Collapsible panel extender inside iframe(html control) i get this error: Sys.ArgumentException: Value must not be null for Controls and Behaviors. Parameter name: element iam using VS 2008
I have a ajax tabpanel where i add the "tab content" dynamicly with use of iframe. In one of the iframes i have to add a user control (menu bar) to the page, but (ofcource) when i add the usercontrol it end up in the iframe from where it was added. Is there anyway to set the position outside the iframe?. I set the position trough a public property of a hiddenfield. The position is then set with javascript.
I am working with .Net 2.0 using Visual Studio 2005 and the corresponding AjaxControlToolkit .
I have a master page with a ModalPopupExtender that appears some number of seconds before the browser session times out. Everything works perfect, except for one condition. One of the web pages has an iFrame used to display a PDF. If the user is on this page and the modal popup is displayed, the modal popup hides behind the iFrame and the user cannot see it.
I have default.aspx as the main page and in it I use Greybox to pop and iframe that holds and editable form. Once the user enters in the text and hit submit I need to pass the data to the DB and have it show on default.aspx without refreshing the page. I have the data going to the DB I need with displaying the data on default.aspx page without refresh.
I want to implement it with ajax in the following way:
when user click out side of iframe dont postback page and change the src of iframe .I want to show the progress inside the progressupdatepanel
I mention it I dont want to run any postback just loading page inside the iframe with ajax by calling outside of iframe for example there is a button in the page and it is handled by update panel and it loads the content of other page inside the iframe.
I have a small issue with ModalPopupExtender. It opens in an Iframe initially, and shows the page: dd_contact.aspx After I have entered the contact details, the IFrame redirects to the contact_details.aspx page to show what I have loaded. The problem is when I close that modalpopup-window and click again to show the modalpopup, the iFrame shows the contact_details.aspx page, and not the add_contact.aspx page
I have a page with an updatepanel, which at runtime has controls dynamically created. The controls are saved within the cache, and readded to the page upon postback each time when needed. Sometimes the controls need to change, sometimes not. In most of my cases, if I just re-add the control to the page without any changes to the control AJAX will leave the control alone on the client-side leaving me with what I expect to see, which is no change. If I make a change, it obviously updates correctly.
Now, I have added a literal control which defines an iFrame which points to another page. ie:
If I re-add this control on postback, with a change, I get the item on the page as I expect. If I make no changes to the .Text and simply re-add the control to the page, it flashes as though it has been changed and then re-requests the page defined by the src. The whole point of me caching this, is to stop the client-side from updating a control that has not changed, removing a flashing screen and all the resizing that goes with it.
I'm using and accordion Ajax control, and when one tab is clicked on, I want the iframe inside it to automatically refresh. I'm not sure how to do this.
I have a facebook app with an asp.net update panel. It works fine when running outside facebook, how ever once I run the app in Facebook the update panel stops working. I check the javascript console and found the following errors were occuring.
The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled.
When I run this page using an iframe under IE7. I get access denied.the page has an ajax autocomplete controlIt works fine with an old frameyou should be able to key in SIN or bkk and it shows an airport nameI really need to know how to fix this. Does anyone know? The code to the page is below
