AJAX :: Prevent Password Textbox From Clearing?

I have a page in which the user enters a password and verifies it. Below these controls is a link that will pull information and fill out other parts of the page.
No matter how I arrange the update panels, the password textboxes are cleared out. I don't want to use session, viewstate, or attributes as it is my understanding that will leave the password in the html of the page when rendered. I thought the whole idea of using update panels was so that one portion of a page could be updated without affecting another portion (for example clearing passwords).

When I load the login page & enter user name the textbox of the password is showing the password I want each time I enter the user name, the textbox of the password being empty and I should enter the password myself...

I have a textbox outside a Updatepanel and a Button inside Updatepanel.When i click the Button ,some checking is performed and an alert box is shown.I am usingScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript to show the alertbox.But when i Click on Ok Button of the alertbox ,i want to clear the value of a textbox say ,T2 and to set focus on T2 which is outside the updatepanel
I cannot place the textbox inside the updatepanel

I have a textbox with a calendarextender and if I type in a partial date it automatically fills in the rest of the date with today's day/year. For example, if I just type in 5 and hit tab, it will fill in 5/23/2010. How can I prevent this from occurring, so that when the user tabs out of the field, only the numbers they have typed in will remain, and trigger some validation?

I am new to ASP.Net development, trying to develo pa simple access based library system.
I am using panel to place a few textboxes and buttons on it, on page load, i open db conenction and bound textboxes to recordsets to show data (and navigate using first and previous buttons)
On add button I call a function to clear textboxes, so user can input data, then when i try to write the data back in DB it shows me textbox still showing old record from record set, means "textbox.text="" didn't work.

I have written a javascript code for handling the password functionality. The scenario is: when user wants to change the old password, he cannot fill the same old password again. I have written the code. But even the simple alert of blank textbox is not working. See the code for reference:

I have a log in screen.
If the username and password do not match, it displays the message "invalid username/password" on the screen
But the cursor moves away from the password textbox. I want to cursor in the password textbox if the username/password is not correct

I have a web form with about 43 textboxes....currently if the use clicks cancel...all the textboxes are assigned an empty string. That works but what i really want i a better way to do this instead of having each textbox listed.

I want to prevent the copy and paste of passwword to confirmpassword. I have tried to prevent this action with the Javascript below but I continue to get the error "The Controls collection cannot be modified because the control contains code blocks (i.e. <% ... %>).".

I have a form that has a MAC Address field and a Password field and I have the chrome auto-fill options turned off, but when I load the page, chrome thinks the MAC Address should be an e-mail address and puts an e-mail address in there and for the password, it puts a password in there. Is there a way to prevent this behavior? Is there way to do this programmatically on page load, I tried clearing the fields, but that doesn't work.

My IIS server requires authentication to access the localserver this is causing android WebView component to get 403 error once directed the the url if I uncheck Basic Authentication under Directory found in Computer Management -> Web Sites -> Properties I would receive 403 error(Access Denied) this time including my browser
once I restart my computer How do I disable authentication without losing access to it? if this is not possible Is there a way to allow android WebView enter the username and password automatically to prevent 403 error?

I have a page with a text box, a button and a GridView. Enter an account number in the text box, press the check button and the result will show in the GridView.
Now user wants that if the text box is clear, the GridView disappear.
I can only find TextBox1_OnTextChanged. But I want to have that while the user is clearing the text, if the length of text becomes zero, the GridView is clear out. So I am looking for OnTextChanging(). Well of course this function does not exist. How to achieve the same purpose?

I have 3 Cascading dropdowns in a user control. After making a selection i want to clear the values of the selections or make it to select some values that I pass in. I have a web form, and it appears that when I add the AJAX control toolkit on my webform, my Request.QueryString is clearing out. Here is what happens:
1) User clicks next on form 3, and I load up form 4 (form 3 passes query string to form 4)
2) User clicks next on form 4, and form 4 checks the query string that was passed by 3, and it's emtpy
This only happened when I added AJAX functionality.

I am currently building a web site and I utilize cascading drop down lists. I am having difficulty clearing two of my drop downs. The application is utilizing Visual Basis. Here is what I found through my research but they are not resetting my drop downs after a post back:
cascadingDropDown1.SelectedValue = Nothing
cascadingDropDown1.SelectedValue = ""
I am stumped on this on and have spent several hours researching this. If anyone has a possible solution I would be greatful.

I'd like to have an asp.net textbox that people can paste content into and it works like notepad, i.e. no formatting or special characters will get entered. I take text and pass it to a web service which manipulates it and converts it into a tab delimited file. The problem I've experienced is sometimes people copy from MS Word and paste that content in and somehow even the tab characters etc. get passed to the web service. I run routines now to strip that information out but it would be so much easier if the textbox on the web page didn't capture anything but the text itself, i.e. visible characters (numbers, letters, punctuation).

I have several text boxes in an ASP.NET Web Form. I want to ensure that users are not entering HTML into those text boxes. However, I'm not sure how to prevent HTML from being entered. Because of this, I decided that I want to only allow alphanumeric characters, spaces, exclamation point, sharp sign, dollar signs, percentage signs, carets, stars, and left and right parenthesis. I'm omitting the ampersand because I do not want them entering something like "<script&rt;..."

I have a textbox with a calendar icon next to it. When the icon is clicked a popup form displays the calendar control. I have it set up where they can only select the week ending date(saturday) and that date is displayed in the textbox.
I want to prevent users from editing the textbox. I've tried using the readonly and enabled properties but that doesn't work.
How can I keep users from modifying the date in the textbox?
