I have a webmethod named (abc), inside this webmethod code i want to redirect to another webform and i am using this code.

But this code is not working. How to redirect to another page from webmethod.
I created a simple login page and called webmethod from jquery. which return true if success and false if failed.
Now I am trying to redirect page after successful login.

The result is, I get the error function running and I get "undefined error" alert.Am I calling the procedure correctly? I put a breakpoint on the webmethod and it.
I have created a utility method that contains some try/catches in it. In those try/catches I need to redirect the customer using an HttpResponse redirect. I can't seem to figure out how to do this outside a web project. This utility class is referenced from my ASP.NET web project and so I'm just abstracting out some of the code into this utility class so I no longer have the request object.
I know I can use HttpWebRequest object for a lot of web related request tasks outside a web project, but could not seem to get any redirect method there to use after putting in a using System.Net; in my utility class.
I have a service that works great on my development box. It uses JQuery to hit my web service, and then the JSON results are sent back.
The web service is located on our basePage.cs. We didn't want to put out an external WebService for this. Our on beta box something different is happening.
The web page seems to be trying to call the web method correctly - the JSON data is being sent... but the server doesn't seem to know it's a webmethod. here's my service function (it's in our basepage.cs which inherits from Page).

In the above javaScript function i am supplying numeric array . I want those values from C# method which gets the those values from database....
HWhen I want to use AJAX, primarily with JQuery .ajax function, I use functions within the .aspx.cs of the same page with [WebMethod].
I dont like this method very much because everyone can tell which function I use, and with no problem they can use it too.
My guess is that theres a better way to do this, Am I right?
I am using a webform and trying to use a $.ajax call a webmethod on my code behind to format and return some data. It sounded easy but I need the help of an expert. Here is what I have and perhaps someone could steer me in the right direction to solving this problem. for the time being all I want the [webmethod] to return is some dummy data so the jqgrid displays, after I get it displaying correctly I will work on the data column format. So for this sample to work correctly user would open web from and click on button "Load Grid" when this is clicked it calls the the [webmethod] on the server, the sever then gets the data and passes it back to the jquery .ajax call and then it gets loaded into the jqGrid.

I believe my website (asp.net c#) is not correctely configured for webmethods.

I have just upgraded my web application from 3.5 to 4. There is one issue that I am now having that is easy to reproduce. I am hoping you can help me determine the best way to overcome this issue.I use Ajax and the AjaxControlToolKit. If you create a new aspx page and add an UpdatePanel and then add a button on the UpdatePanel. Then for button_click have it do Response.Redirect("SomeOtherPage.aspx") and it will give you a 404 error.Sample:

I am new to jqGrid and I have found it difficult to follow the documentation jqGrid Documentation / I cannot figure out how to call a WebMethod when setting up the JQGrid. I have been successful in making an Ajax call to get the data and then setting up the JQGrid with local data. I think its an extra step in the setup process and that I should be able to provide the path to the webmethod using the url property. The editurl property is the same way. I am never actually receiving the post to the server. Attempted JQGrid Setup

Current Code I got it working correctly now, but I still have one final question. Why did I have to set the 'repeatitems: false' in order to display the content? Some of the caveats to get this to work include the different ways to setup the ajax request. (Ajax: type) is (jqgrid : mtype) (Ajax: contentType) is (jqgrid : ajaxGridOptions: { contentType: })
And finally understanding the documentation from the documentation on how to setup the JSONReader.

I have a web Method in my C# that is called via Jquery ajax method. The web method should return an object back to the Jquery which will be used to populate. I have tried returning a JsonResult object, the actual object and nothing seems to work! I'm not using MVC (Unfortunately). I'm doing an jQuery AJAX POST call to a webmethod, which is working fine. If I'm passing data from the AJAX call, I normally get the data in the webmethod via webmethod parameters.

Is there any way I can get the data as a Dictionary or some other object, instead of having to put in individual parameters to the GetStuff() web method for each data param? It's a POST request so nothing is in Request.QueryString, and Request.Params/Request.Form doesn't contain it either.
I'm trying to get the previous page URL after I do a response write and i've looked around the web and people are using HTTP_REFERER but that doesn't work with Response.Redirect so is there anyway to get the URL of the previous page?
I have this code on a few pages and i need to know which page it is coming from when it gets to the servererror/default.aspx page

I have now got it to work like this

That passes the URL of the page with the error to the next page and I then grab that from the Query String
I had a problem lately that I managed to have for it 2 solutions and I am wondering which one should I choose. Here the issue : When a user requests my site ( www..com), I am gonna redirect him to (www..com/en) because it is a multilingual site. I am using .NET routing to to that. In the Page_Load of the default.aspx page I check if the language in the Routing Collection is available, I don't redirect. If it is not available I redirect to (www._.com/en). Here is the code :

I am using Response.Redirect to do that. Now if I set to End The Response the method parameter, it will throw an exception so I can handle it throught

If I don't end the Response, the page will execute the whole lifecyle, redirect and then do it again which results a double execution of the page. My main objective is not to execute the page 2 times to minimize processing ( if the site gets hammered by a big traffic). If I end the Response, a ThreadAbortExeption will be thrown and I think this is not good for the site.( I can catch it and not log it).

I have an Ajax function called from JQuery that goes to a webservice to return a value. I need a SIMPLE example on how I can do this. I've been going nuts with serializing and every other aspect of this topic. I need to return either an ArrayList with ONE string field or a DataTable of some kind. Either way, I'm populating it into a DropDownList. I'm willing to consider alternatives to this idea. (Background info - I get a value from a textbox and I need to run it through a DB to get an associated value or set of values). I'm being really general so that someone can show a simple example.
