AJAX :: Server Control - Defined In An Assembly That Is Not Referenced?

I have created a server control for my web page... I have decided to add an ajax popup extender (after creating the control, which builds and works fine.) After I add the AjaxControlToolKit reference I add the following:

I get this error when I add it:"The type 'System.Web.UI.ExtenderControl' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Web.Extensions, "I googled the error and it says to add something inside the web config... I do not have a web.configfile inside the server control.

I have a strange problem. I am adding a LinqDatasource object, and set the context:

Then I get this error:The type 'System.Data.Linq.DataContext' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Data.Linq, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'.
On web.config I already have this:
<add assembly="System.Data.Linq, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089"/>
NOTE: The datacontext is in a different project (DLL proect) where I added a refernce to System.Data.Linq.
is there another way adding a refernce to a web project? or only though teh web.config?

I have a process in which a user uploads a file to a web site where the file is then processed and uploaded into the database. The process of validating the file could take several minutes so as soon as the file is uploaded I create a new thread and I do my processing on this second thread. This works great on my local machine but doesn't work at all on my IIS 7 test server.
After some investigating I found the problem is that the process is trying to load a reference to Castle and it can't find the DLL. I have a copy of Castle DLLs in my bin and it works elsewhere in my app. I ran Fuslog and discovered that it is trying to load castle from the wrong location. It is trying to load from c:/windows/system32/inetsrv/.
It appears that under IIS 7 the second thread is executing in a different context or something.

I have a solution with a website and a class library. I have renamed the class library project from Insight_WebControls to Insight.WebControls. I have also renamed the assembly it produces in its properties.
I have removed from the website's references the old class library and added the new.
However, when I try to build the website, I get the error 'Could not load file or assembly 'Insight_WebControls' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.' There is a dll called 'Insight.WebControls' in the bin folder. Clearly some part of the website is still looking for the old filename. Can anyone tell me how to point it to Insight.WebControls.dll instead?

I want to write own control which can contain other. And I want to define content of the control in the .aspx file where the control is defined. I have written such control. But now I have issue with ViewState of inner controls of my control. The following samle illustrates the issue: I defined two asp:DropDownList ID="ddl1" and ID="ddl2" One of them is inside of my control and other is outside. When posback is occurred asp:DropDownList ID="ddl1 loses state and becomes empty. How to say ASP.net to store state of inner controls defined by this way?

I don't know what is going on. When I try to add a tab container in my page, it allows me to do that but when I modify the code, the unknown server tag error pops up in the design view of the page.
I checked the source code to see if I had my @register clause in there, and it was there, but still the error shows. I don't know what happened, the last time it worked perfectly.
I have also recently downloaded the cute editor for .net and installed the .dlls to my bin folder and it is showing the same simtoms as well.

And when running aspx page it gives unable to get property ui of undifeined or null reference..how it can be removed..

Well,at http://www.mail-archive.com/mono-bugs@lists.ximian.com/msg71529.html they say the work around is to create a global policy assembly and redirect the assemblies that way since it is not read from the web.config.
How do you actually do what they describe there? There is a huge documentation gap in that area with Mono.Also,I can't just recompile the assembly to use the new Mono assembly versions because the assembly is closed source.(but it does work with Mono.)

Just looking through database design and wondering what would be the better option. I have customers, who all have orders, pickings, deliveries and invoices. Now an invoice can't exist without a delivery, a delivery can't exist without a picking and a picking can't exist without an order. So I could set the tables up in a linear fashion. e.g.
Customer -> Orders -> Picking -> Delivery -> Invoice
then in Orders, there would be an ID field, with a customerID field and in Picking, there would be an ID field, with an orderID field and in Delivery, there would be an ID field, with pickingID and in Invoice, there would be an deliveryID field. Linking them altogether, again, in a 'linear' fashion.
The problem is if I want to get, say, all the invoices for a specific customer, my query would be something like

My other option would be to have in a customerID column in each of the tables meaning a much easier query

I am having a problem with ajaxcontroltoolkit 3.5. I am getting the following error
"Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.InvalidOperationException: The script 'Timer.js' has been referenced multiple times. If referencing Microsoft AJAX scripts explicitly, set the MicrosoftAjaxMode property of the ScriptManager to Explicit."
I have migrated ajax web app from 2.0 to 3.5 and have changed ScriptManager to ToolkitScriptManager.

We have upgraded recently from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2010. One of the upgrades has to do with the AJAX libraries.
On the initial project (SV2008) the AjaxControlToolkit.dll used was:

The current one, used in the VS2010 project is:

The project compiles fine but once we access some web pages, we get numerous error messages with the first one being:
Message: AjaxControlToolkit requires ASP.NET Ajax 4.0 scripts. Ensure the correct version of the scripts are referenced. If you are using an ASP.NET ScriptManager, switch to the AjaxScriptManager in System.Web.Ajax.dll, or use the ToolkitScriptManager in AjaxControlToolkit.dll.

i am trying to bind data to a datagridview control on an ASPX webpage and am using something like this..

the problem i am having is that the data for the 'MyField' field is actually an integer that is a reference to a string value in another sql table.

i create a composite control as can be seen in code below, and add this control to webform, assign FormView1 to the HeaderControlName property, Run the page, the system will generate parse error message :
Cannot create an object of type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormView' from its string representation 'FormView1' for the 'HeaderControlName' property. However, if i don't assign FormView1 in design screen and manually (through coding) assign FormView1 to the custom control on init, it works as expected.

I have an ASP.NET 4.0 application with some simple user controls. The user controls work fine on the design surface (VS.NET 2010), but when they're loaded during application execution, nothing shows up.
Futhermore, the various child controls of the user controls are null when referenced inside the code behind for the user control.
The code behind for the user control executes as expected, but any reference to child controls are null.
It's like ASP.NET is never parsing the ASCX to create the instances of the child controls.

i need to get the value of some textboxes in an aspx file. usually if these are defined in the front page they are easily accessible in the code behind.
however the form (textboxes) are defined within a separate web control (ascx file) that in turn is registered within another web control, that is registered in the aspx page in which i am trying to access them.
my question is how i get at these values. i presume i need to do some sort of find for each control and the relevant textboxes i need?

I am in the process of migrating the ASP.Web Application from .NET framework 1.1 to 3.5. I installed the VS 2008 (framework 3.5 SP1) and was able to rebuild the ASP.NET web app from 1.1. I downoladed the AJAX Toll Kit library from codeplex [URL] I was able to add the AJAX Toolkit tab in my VS 2009 tool box. I am using the AutoComplete serach extender which works fine when I use the Ajax Tool Kit Script manager. When I use the Ajax Extension Script Manager in place of Ajak ToolKit Script manager I get an error "Please let me know why AutoComplete Search Extender is not working with the Ajax Extension Script Manager.
AjaxControlToolkit requires ASP.NET Ajax 4.0 scripts. Ensure the correct version of the scripts are referenced. If you are using an ASP.NET ScriptManager, switch to the AjaxScriptManager in System.Web.Ajax.dll, or use the ToolkitScriptManager in AjaxControlToolkit.dll.
