I'm trying the watermark extender out and I can't seem to get it to work?
Don't know if it might be version issues?
I've got two textboxes and 'n want them watermarked but when the page runs, there are nothing happening?

I am learning asp.net using Visual web developer 2008 express.
I have an image control with the html code below

In design view, the image shows but when i run the app, the image is not shown. Only the alternate text is displayed.

The problem is I can see tool kit controls in my tool box but i can not use the controls. like i was using the text box watermark effect but when i run the website the text-box does not show effect and there is no option in text box to add extender. there is only remove extender option. View 1 RepliesI have an update panel which has 2 set of controls each in their own separate panels. We can select either panel by a checkbox list and they become visible. Now I am trying to set a value by javascript in the panel that becomes visible on my checkbox click but the problem is that I cant access the controls through javascript as they are not rendered on page as visibility is false.
I cant find the controls inside the page source even though they are visible on page so javascript cannot access them. Is there any way other than doing a postback and setting them visible to access them via javascript?
My current code is costing performance issue when ran on server.
ISSUE:
I've a a textbox whixh is invisible by default and a button, which is visible and both are placed inside grid's item template
I've also used ajax's update pannel to supress postback
My requirement is to make thetext box visible on button click which is working fine and fast in the localhost machine
But when put on server,its taking considerably more time to make the text box visible.

I know in IE7 you can change your IE settings to make it print the water mark but in IE8 you can't do that. Is there another way to print my water mark out? Here's that part of the code:

When changing the textbox's text mode to multiline the textbox becomes resizable during runtime. I can't seem to find the property to disable this, does anyone know how I can resolve this issue?
View 4 Repliesi have VS2010Pro, i installed Ajax3.5 because im working on .Net3.5 framework. i created a registration form, after i applied Scripmanager, then i clicked on Textbox & select Add Extender, i use Watermark extender. i write all the values... wtever it is in ASP.net AJAX website tutorial, after it i run to project ....there is no watermark on the textbox. i have IE8 & Firefox browser but both not showing the watermark here is my code that i applied on textbox:

i already installed reinstalled both AJAX & VS10 but nothing happen.
I would like to know if there is any way to put a "watermark" item in a dropdownlist, an item like.. "Choose a color" in a dropdownlist of colors.
By now, I add an item to the top of the ddl.. But I don't know if it is a good way or if there is any property or toolkit to do that..

View 1 RepliesI have a web page that I have a media control player on along with other controls in a table.It's a training video, so the controls are not visible.So the user can advance to the next web page,I thought I would have a button control inside an update panel with a time control so that the user had to watch the video and then the button control would appear after the video completed.I'm setting the button update panel to NOT visible and then turning it one when the time control elapses the same amount of time that the video runs.My problem is that when I set the visible property of the update panel to NOT visible it also makes the media player's panel NOT visible too.They are in two different panels.The medial player in a standard panel and the timer control connected witha separate panel that contains the button for the user to proceed. When I set the visible property to "true" the media player runs but the update panel with the button is visible also.

This is the code for the update panel and continue button that is in a separate table cell.I even split the table and so this is in a completely separate table but I still get the same behavior.
My problem is that I want to display a watermark on password field i..e Enter Password. But it is appearing as **********. I have seen it on facebook that when i see it first time text is appearing 'Enter Password' and when i enter my password it appears as *****. I know that with some dirty workarounds I can fix it. I have 2 "Updatepanel" controls. Each contains a textbox linked to a "TextBoxWatermarkExtender", and a button. When I click on one of the buttons without to enter any text, all the watermark text disappear on BOTH updatepanel when they should remain visible.

I have a question about watermark extender. I used it to apply to a password textbox and confirm password textbox with password text mode. I found some site recomending using picture so that the word "Password" and "Confirm Password" will be shown in the textbox. For some reason, in the confirm password textbox, the picture doesn't show correctly. It is like some part is omitted. I try to check on my local computer and it was fine. But when I check on my computer at home. I got that weird problem. Why is it like that?

View 1 RepliesI have working on a form where the textbox.visible=false, however if certain conditions are met, such as the selection of something in the dropdown box, the textbox.visible should change to true.
This is not the case, each time, I select the item in the dropdown box the textbox doesn't appear.

I have a textbox (txtMaiden) and a radio button list (rblGender) in two separate User Controls that I'm using for a registration site. The txtMaiden control appears or disappears depending on whether Male or Female is designated on the radio button. This all works fine but I want the textbox to have focus when it becomes visible. As of now, it only gets focus when the page refreshes. Code follows.
