MyMasterPage.aspx and content page MyDefault.aspx. MyMasterPage.aspx has one input button [value="Menu-1"]. When user click the button, the button will pass value "Menu-1" into TextBox1Default1 at content page MyDefault.aspx, and then refresh UpdatePanelDefault1 at content page MyDefault.aspx asynchronously.
My problem is the post back is full post back when refreshing UpdatePanelDefault1. I would like asynchronously post back during refreshing UpdatePanelDefault1. copy the full code MyMasterPage.aspx and MyDefault.aspx below, and then paste / overwrite it into your blank aspx page for testing. I am using VS 2008
I am dynamically ading the following to an UpdatePanel
Tab control which has X# of Tabs, each Tab has a various labels and a Rating Control.
When the user hits the Rating contro, the RATING_Changed fires and runs a stored Proc to update the DB. I want the Panel to then display the newest information back from the DB. I can't seem to get the last part to work. I'm still learning .NET so i may have missed somethign easy, but i've tried setting AutoPopstback, using Triggers, etc.
The DB Update does take place but the NEW contents are not displayed
I was working on this last week and took a break from it to 'regroup' and start over. Here is what I'm trying to accomplish.
1. have a web form with dropdowns to allow the user to select font sizes, colors, background image, etc. 2. I want to the form to be updated with the new styles in an update panel. 3. Once the user clicks the apply button, I want the updatepanel to refresh with the new styles.
I tried this by creating an css on the fly, but the updatepanel wasn't picking up the new css without doing a full page refresh, (which we don't want to do). I only want the updatepanel refresh and either use inline styles, a <style> on the web form etc,
I have a user control, that has an update panel and update progress control in it.
I use this user control in more than 1 location on the same page.... problem is, when ucA posts back, I see the update progress control for both ucA and ucB. I assume this is because it is a user control and the update panel and progress are named the same?
Either way - how do I make it so that the update progress only displays for the proper user control?
I am working on VS2008 asp.net 3.5, I have problem regarding progress bar. When I used it on List Page it works fine image is rotating but on update page image is not rotate, it looks like static image
I have 2 ddls (cascading that does not use the AJAX cascading ddl) within an updatepanel within an EditTemplate field in a DetailsView. Changing the first ddl causes a full page refresh (this is the problem I am trying to overcome), but changing the second ddl does not. The second ddl is set to autopostback as well because of other logic (if user selects value "Add" a modal pops up to add a new option to the database).
Now the first, does a call out to a class to handle setting the list of values for the second...that is the only difference I can tell between the two, but I wouldn't think that would cause the issue because it is within an updatepanel.
Here's the code:
[Code]....
On Selected Index Change code for each
For the First:
[Code]....
For the Second:
Protected Sub ddlModel_SelectedIndexChanged(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Dim ddlModel As DropDownList = dtlBikes.FindControl("ddlModel") Dim ddlMfg As DropDownList = dtlBikes.FindControl("ddlMfg") If ddlModel.SelectedValue = "Add" Then 'Add New Record txtDDLName.Value = "ddlModel" txtDtlsViewName.Value = "dtlBikes" txtItemType.Value = "BikeModel" txtParentID.Value = ddlMfg.SelectedValue txtNewItem.Text = "" txtNewItem.Focus() lblNewItem.Text = "Enter New Model:" modInsertItem.Show() End If End Sub
I have a wierd issue with the update progress control in ie8. I have a modal popup that loads a pdf in an iframe, then i have a button click that navigates away from the pdf and shows a form in the same modal. All this is wrapped in an update panel, which i have an update progress control associated with. The control shows correctly in ie7, firefox, safari, and chrome. But in ie8 when the async post back is complete the progress indicator does not hide, until I click on the screen or scroll the page, then it hides and the form shows.
In a page I have multiple update panels that has timer associated with them to refresh the grids. Issue is that when asynchronous request (update panel) is in progress page do not respond. If use try to click some other link to move he even can not do that until asynchronous request is completed. Is it not possible that user may able to click some other button if he want while update is in process ?
I have seen this discussed in number of topics, but so far nothing to address my specific issue. I want to display the page the client, and then trigger an updatepanel refresh that will populate with data that takes 3-4 seconds to load (the rest of the page loads very fast). At the same time I want to display "...Loading..." text using UpdateProgress control.
Everything is working below in the sample code. However, UpdateProgress will not display unless the button is actually clicked by the user. In real production scenario I would hide the button. To invoke the immediate UpdatePanel refresh I trigger the click via Javascript. I have also tried "__DoPostBack" without success.
<code> <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="TestUpdate.aspx.cs" Inherits="TestUpdate" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> [code]...
I got strange behaviour here. My environment is VS.Net 2008 Team server and I tried to use updatepanel but failed.
[Code]....
When I clicked the button, I expect Label3 inside updatepanel to be updated and Label2 remained the same, AND of course without page refreshing flick. But the result is page is completed refreshed and both labels are updeted.
I am using a master page which has a table that is used for layout. In one of the cells I have a Accordion control which holds links in each panel to navigate to the various pages. I have a few pages that take some time to load so I was trying to use the update panel progress control, however it seems that you cannot use a hyperlink or a link button as triggers for the update panel or if you can you cannot if it is in an accordion control.
So I am seeking advice on how to show a loading message when the pages load in the content panes.
I've exempted the irrelevant bits of code. Essentially, I am trying to change the URL of an image control inside of an update panel inside of a custom user control from a function called inside an update panel from my main page. Using UpdatePanel.Update() isn't working: I end up waiting for the next full page POST to occur before all the updates I make to CustomControl from buttons within the main page's update panel are visible. I verified that Update() was being called via the debugger: there are no issues in that department.
Here, you can see Custom Control and the Button declared. The button is in an update panel to avoid giving a full POST and causing the whole page to reload.
This control stores images within their own seperate update panels because rerendering the images is very slow (it requires processing arrays of millions of datapoints) and the user only ever needs to modify one image at a time. I'm using Image1 as an example.
I have an updatepanel on my master page that just updates the database every 30 seconds, what is happening is that everytime it is fired, it will refresh everything on the page_load of the content page that are not under ispostback = false. to disable such a thing just for this specific updatepanel?
I got an updatepanel which contains a normal panel on MasterPage. The updatepanel does not contain content place holder. On the content page, I have to add triggers to updatepanel for buttons that are dynamically created on "page_load" event. The problem is that, since the page_load event of content page is being called before master page's page_load event, UpdatePanel is not being created. So that, whenever i try to add triggers in page_load event of content page, i got an error like "A control with ID 'ctl00$editableContent$ctl42' could not be found for the trigger in UpdatePanel 'up1'."
The code below is for adding triggers to updatepanel for buttons.
MasterClass master = (MasterClass)Page.Master; AsyncPostBackTrigger trig = new AsyncPostBackTrigger(); [code]....
I have the same problem as [URL] However, the solution doesn't work for me since I'm using .Net 4.0 and xhtmlConformance is not there from start.
Basically, using a master page, the RadioButtonList still do the whole page postback even it's in the UpdatePanel. When I put the exact same code in a standalone page without a master page, it works as expected.
I created some buttons and a label inside UpdatePanel. Upon clicking the buttons Label's text changes as configured. Lovely. Now how do I go about making a bigger piece of content change (without page refresh) using the same buttons? (Basically I'm trying to build Ajax tabs)I tried making the button click event change ContentPlaceHolderID value on some Content controls but that doesn't seem to work.
