I have several cascading drop down in my website which work fine. The problem is that i know need to use cascading drop down in a modal popup. The first list is populated but the subsequent lists are not being populated.

View 5 RepliesI have a modal pop up in the master page and in page say manageuser.aspx I have some control. When i click the button to show the pop up the the popup appear and closing close it, but it also hide all the drop down control in IE6. It looks fine in Firefox and IE7.

I have an Ajax ModalPopupExtender on a page. To summarise. I have a link on a page, when I click the link the modal popup displays. On this modalpopup I've a textbox and an 'ok' and 'cancel' button. I wish to find out what was entered in the textbox when the button is clicked I try this but the value of ((TextBox)button1.Page.FindControl("theTitle")) is null.

My AjaxToolkit modal popup either hides my drop downs or the drop downs come over the modal screen. Is there any solution for this problem.Even a pure javascript modal popup will do for me but hiding of drop downs and drop downs coming above modal popups isn't the accepted behaviour in my project.
View 1 RepliesI have three modal popup and three link buttons the first link button is on menu i.e. login that shows login-popup and the login popup contains two links forgot password and register both of them opens a popup but the problem is the login popup isnt hiding with click on register or foreget link the popups are appearing perfectly but arent hiding.

I also used breakpoints on link click event and are not going to code behind file on click and popup is just shown without hiding the other. And the css used is I found on aspsnippet site!
I have page with a gridview on it and when I select a record I use the modal popup extender to bring up a modal window to allow the user to edit the record... works great...
Problem is that on the modal popup, I have a drop down box and when the user selects something in the drop down box I have another drop down box that I want to populate based on what was selected in the first drop down box... I have a sub to do this and I was going to fire it off on the SelectedIndexChanged event, but the problem is that I can only first that off on post back (the drop down box has autopostback true)... but when we postback, the modal window goes away... and I can't fire off the SelectedIndexChanged event without a postback...
SO I created a Panel to use to drag my modal popup, but any movement of it when you release the mouse it returns back to it's original position. What causes this behavior and how to stop it? Using Master Pages, but staying inside the content area.

Modal Popup user control (its a message box) on top of a modal popup with javascript that maintains postback on a scrollable div all inside of an update panel causes my page to flash on postback of the user control. If any one of the peices (user control, modal popup, javascript) are missing everything works fine. The javascript is maintaing scrollback on a scrollable listview on the page. A modalpopup is shown on top of this main page that is for report parameters. The user control is used for validation and is displayed if a parameter is invalid. I know this may not be the best design, but it can't really change unless its a minor change. Heres the js if anyone wants to see popup or styles let me know.

I look for a good way for arrangement Admin pages Items
for example Admin Upload Page consists of these sections:
* make a new folder
* delete folder
* upload file in folder
* show folders information (in a gridview)
* download test
so I think one way is showing this sections in modal
but when I tried make a new folder in modal after clicking in create folder button modal disappeared.
Is there any way that modal doesnt disappear until user click close button?
I mean I want modal to behave like a page.

I'm using modal popup extender and panel with calendar in it. Click the "Next / Previous Month" closes the modal popup. How do I tell the modal popup to ignore click events in a calendar control inside the panel targeted for popup? I'm confused because when using extender before, you had to click OkButton or Cancel to close popup. I have update panel for reason. I just minimized the code for easy review.

I have one page with a panel that makes up my ModalPopup. On the ModalPopup there is an updatepanel with a textbox and a button in it. There is a textbox on the "parent" page and I want to click the button on the modalpopup and move the data from the popup textbox to the parent textbox. So far, no joy. I have a line in the code behind to move the data between textboxes and I have also tried javascript to do the same thing but I am not able to make this happen unless i click the button twice.

Current;y I'm using a acces.db on the backend to populate the date.
It's just non populating for what I think is fast enough.
Would it be faster if I put the data in a real database? mssql, mysql, etc...
I wouldn't think it was my code, It's not even that many lines.
I am using the AJAX Cascading drop down list but want to add event validation e.g. the compare validators.
As the cascading drop down list requires the page event validation to be disabled what is the best way to do the validation?

Does anyone know if it is possible to have Cascading DropDown Lists which are based on the selected value of more than a single list. Example - I have four tables in a database as follows:
Product
PartA
PartB
PartC
The items in Product are made up by one record from each of the other three tables (PartA + PartB + PartC = Product). What I wish to do is have 3 Cascading DropDown lists which refer to the three individual parts which can be used to select items fromt he Product table.
The first two work no problem but when it comes to the third the list is condition on only items which have the selects of both the first two lists.
I have a page that has a cascading drop down. It works perfectly when I start with an empty page and populate data to save a new row in a db table. However, when I try to load an existing row to the page, the parent is populated, but the child and cdd are not populated. During the load, I set the ccd.selectedvalue to a valid value, but by the time the page is rendered, there is no selection. I am sure it is something simple, but just don't see it.

They work just fine but once the user saves the data and then comes back to the same page, I would like to show them what was previously saved. How can I pre-select items in the drop downs that I get from my SQL server db? I tried jquery, javascript, vb code behind and no luck so far. I'm sure i'm doing something wrong. Here is my code:
I've been trying to send my webservice a contextkey for the first drop down. When I debug the webservice, and I manually enter a context key, i get the correct values back with the value that equals my context key having <isDefaultValue>True</isDefaultValue>.
