AJAX :: Validation Not Allowing To Submit In MultiView Control?
Mar 15, 2014
I'm Using VS2010 c#.
I'm using Multiview control in my web page, and I'm using 3 view blocks inside the Multiview. In each view I have some text boxes with validation controls. In my 3rd view I have a submit button. If I press the submit button without enter any values in text boxes, it accept the empty value the Required validator control didn't work.
I use Only one Submit button for a all 3 views....
I have webpage containing 3 views of multiview control. In the first view there are 3 fields Name Age Surname which will be captured in the textbox for the respective fields. In the second view i have three more fields
sex maritalstatus bloodgroup
which will be entered in the respective textboxes and a submit button to store the data in both the views in the sql server database. I have all the fields in the sql server table which are mentioned in the webpage.I need the complete code for storing the entered data in both the views of the multiview control after hitting the submit button.
I have a web page with several databound (via their property's) user controls in a multiview in a formview.
I decided to try Ajax (Adding ScriptManager, updatepanel etc).
All works fine except for the user controls.
The controls I use to contain the usercontrol property values ((invisible) Textboxes or Hidden fields) lose their value when i change from ond multiview panel to another. (In other words: usercontrols on invisible multiview panels lose their property value's). (When I change a multiviewpanel all the property fields turn emty, when i hit the update button of the formview afterwards the emty values are propagated to the database. (resulting in loss of data)) Textbox seems to hold its value, hiddenfield loses its value (when changing from one multiview panel to another).
This seems to be a coplication of the multiview in combination with ajax.
I have a page with an UpdatePanel in wich I load the menu selected Layout pages, and the layouts loads its contents dynamically.
It works fine, but when I load a Layout that has an Multiview control, the code behind of the Layout don't come in into the if(!Page.IsPostBack), ok, I fixed it with if(multiview.ActiveViewIndex==-1) multiview.setactiveview("viewName").
In the Multiview I have a ListView, in the listview I have Linkbuttons that opens another view and shows the information of the specified row dynamically.
when I click in the link so the page disappear from the update panel... why? I do not a full postback of the page, so I think I don't need to reload that page on the update panel... Right?
I have a form that collects some dates. The users can go to this form any time, view the data, and edit the data.
The user should only be able to enter today or future dates only. We don't want users to go in here and be able to past date these dates.
So I created a compare validator which compares the text box against today's date. This works great. The user saves the form and life goes on.
But then, lets say they come back 1 week later and want to change a date. Now all the old dates will fire this validator and they can't save anything unless they change all the dates to today or newer. This is a problem.
So what I thought was when I load the form with the data from the database, I would just disable the validator if there is a date, and if it's null enable the validator. But this won't work because then they can back-date all of those dates with the validator disabled.
So for the dates that are not null, it shouldn't fire the validator unless they change the date.
When I load the form, I'm going to load all these dates into Viewstate. I'm going to create a custom validator and check the value they enter against the previous date that is in Viewstate. If it matches that date then it is valid, if it doesn't match that date then I will run it through the validator to check for past-date.
I am using a MultiView control inside a FormView to break my form into more manageable sections for the end-user. I am trying to make it so that each time the Next button is clicked, the entire form is validated and a list of the fields that have not yet been completed show up in the Validation Summary.
I would like my users to be able to continue through the MultiView 'wizard' even if they haven't completed all the fields -- they should be able to come back to them later. But I would like the ValidationSummary to display the fields they've not completed that are required as a reminder of what to come back to if possible.
I've tried playing around with Page.IsValid with no success.
[Code]....
The code-behind for the Next button is as follows:
I'm trying to get this to work. My current problem is what to do if the user wants to give the same rating that already exists. For example, an item has a rating of five, and the user wants to give it another 5 rating.
I am working on a project in ASP.NET MVC using C# 3.0.I am using the Dundas Chart Control for OLAP. As the Dundas control does not directly support MVC it is used on a standard ASP.NET page with a codebehind file. This page is displayed in an iFrame of a normal View returned from a Controller Action.I have a button in the iFrame which submits a form via Ajax (using jQuery) to a method on the controller. I have also written an extension method for the OlapChart which returns the XML of the current report. What I am looking for is a way of getting the XML produced by the extension method to the Controller Action which handles the Ajax submit.I have only developed using ASP.NET MVC so I may be missing something obvious with Code Behind and ASP.NET controls.
i have a page with some control like update panel and cascading dropdownlist. I have added some asp require validators but it does not working.
I have an asp image button with a postback url set. When i click on this button, the validations does not occurs and the application goes to the next page.
I have this working except for one thing. After the user has voted I want to replace the submit with "Thank you" text.
In the aspx page I have a label that is not visible, with the text = "NotVoted". This label is not in the listview. In the listview I have a label that is not visible and a button that is. The rating control is called vidRating. In the vidRating_Changed event I have
lblVoteStatus.Text = "Voted" ListView1.DataBind() In the ListView1_ItemDataBound event I have Dim lblVoted As Label = CType(e.Item.FindControl("lblVoted"), Label) Dim btnSubmit As Button = CType(e.Item.FindControl("btnSubmit"), Button) If lblVoteStatus.Text = "Voted" Then btnSubmit.Text = "Thank you" btnSubmit.Visible = False lblVoted.Visible = True End If
When I run this in debug mode, if the user has voted, ListView1.DataBind() is run, lblVoteStatus.text = "Voted", and the code in the IF statement is run. I get no errors, but the page doesn't change. I still see the button and I don't see the label text. If I comment out the if /end if statements, the page opens displaying the label text, not the submit button. So the controls are being found ok. What am I doing wrong? How can I disable or remove the submit button after the user votes?
I have a multi view which contains a view which contains a panel. the name of this panel is "Panel1"I have the following code and my HTML does not display in the rendered page. Any idea why this isn't working, i must be doing something wrong? sw = simple html statement, any would produce same result.
How to set the focus on textbox when requiredfield validator error mesage comes to action inside the ajax tabcontrol. The ajax tabcontrol is having 5 tabs. The submit button is in 5th tab .I have reqiredfield validator for textbox in 1st tab.I want to set the focus on textbox if validation fails. Is it possible to get without postback?
After searching on internet I found following website and implemented the code of website. Everything is working fine but when I click Tab2 picture or Tab3 picture or then Tab1 picture, the picture did not get refreshed or visible.
I want to call some web-service webmethods on asp.net submit button's click in order to validate the form regarding to some business logic and then I would like to have the button to go on its default behavior if the validation is OK.
How can I stop the aspx page to post-back (after submit button click) and continue submitting the form only if it is allowed by the 'success' function of jQuery.ajax()'s option parameter?
I have a form that occassionally submits more than once per user. I am assuming the problem is that the user gets impatient and clicks submit multiple times. I have a bunch of asp validation controls on the page. There is multiple validation groups, the submit button belongs to the "main" group. How do I validate the "main" group, then if the page is valid, disable the button and submit it? I tried adding this.disabled=true; but that just disables it and doesnt submit or anything.
Hi can some one please help me out how can i do below task. I have a page with set of TextBox controls, each contorl is binded with one required field validator. These validators should perform only on submit button click, instead in each post back all the validtions are performed. For Instance, on the page if i click on LogOff link button still all the validations performed.
I have some fields to be validated on the server (CustomValidator) which is in a separate user control and my Submit button is in the page not in the user control.
What I have done is, I placed all my Validation Methods in the code behind of my usercontrol (ascx.cs) and the page validation is in the code behind of the page (aspx.cs). I put them in the same ValidationGroupName (fields and Submit button). usercontrol (ascx) is a child of my page (aspx). I have already placed CauseValidation="true" to my Button and UseSubmitBehavior="true". The problem is it does not validate. What could be the problem in this?
Note: I cannot put the the Button to be part of the usercontrol.
Edit:in my aspx page, click event of the button has this.Page.Validate(ValidationGroupName) and all of my validators are on the fields on a separate control (ascx) which is a child of the aspx page.
The above snippet is located in my aspx page.I've tried to put the same button on the ascx page, it works fine. My thought is since the ascx page is under the aspx page. When the button event on aspx page is fired (Button1), the rest of the event in ascx page is not fired. I've tried to put breakpoints on the button event and validator events, if the button of the page (aspx) is the one I click, it will not stop on my validator events, if the button on the control (ascx) I click it will stop to the validator events. What could be the remedy for this?
I am using Update Panel in my asp page and I am doing JQuery Validation on Asynchronous Postback...I just want to validate my form on only button clicks or submits..My problem is..all my buttons are in different formviews and won't load at a time...that's why I am unable to take the button id's and use the click events..here is my code..
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_initializeRequest(ValidateMyForm); function ValidateMyForm(sender, args) { var objPost = args.get_postBackElement(); [code]..
All I want to do is: 2nd time validation on only button submit not for everything...I do get other postbacks on this page and those post backs also gets validated each time (I want to Avoid this)...
For the release of Microsoft MVC 2.0 RC2, can someone go into further detail on the following BUG/FIX: You can now programmatically disable client validation for a submit button (an input elements whose type attribute is set to "submit") even if the button does not have its name attribute set, whereas before it required the name attribute.Does this apply to the HTML Helper Submit Button or the input submit button? How would I disable client validation for a submit button? I tried using the htmlAttribute causesvalidation="false" on a HTML Helper Submit button and it did not work.
I just wanted to know if the multiview control keeps state when changing views. I would like to use it for a profile page to store different parts of a users profile and a save button outside the multiview control to save all or part of the data at any time. Is this possible to if so can I have a example please.
