I am using autocomplete functionality found at http://www.devbridge.com/projects/autocomplete/jquery/. In addition to the text in the autocompelete text box, i would like to pass additional information, like selected states and highways. Following is the code I have. I am getting the text value in the textbox in the MVC action, but not the params. Can you please check what I am doing wrong.
var a = $('.exit-filters div.filters input#Exit').autocomplete2({ serviceUrl: $('.exit-filters input#exit-autocomplete-link').val(), minChars: 1, [code]....
I want to create an interactive website using aspx and ajax, that there will be an option to create chess game room for example and other players will be able to join.
I have 2 Questions:
how can I make that after one player clicks on a button and finish his turn, the other player will be able to do a move. After the first player finish his turn I will change the turn by using the database, but the point is how can I refresh the other player's site so when the other one finish his turn, the turn will come to the second player? When someone creates a room and than close his browser - I need that room to be closed. Shall I use the Session_OnEnd to close the room he opened?
So the bottom line is that we are working on a large web based project in ASP.NET webforms that is extremely heavy on data editing operations and we are not getting the code reuse that we want out of the presentation layer. We are currently generating a good portion of our DAL and that works great. However, the strategies for standardizing, improving UI development time, and code reuse for the presentation layer are less clear. I have been researching DyanamicData, potential code generation, and writing our own custom controls, but i dont see an obvious place to focus our efforts.
created treeview dyamically. I wanted to invoke a javascript confrim when a node is clicked . it should give him a popup saying are you sure you want to delete. if yes then call the file which is set in the navigate urlif user selects no, they nothing should happen.
TreeNode ActTNNode = new TreeNode("<span onclick=""javascript:confirm('Are you sure you want to delete);"">Delete</span> ");
How can I get all the textboxes inside a create user wizard control using getElementsByTagName().
Below is my JQuery code:
[Code]....
The above code isn't displaying hint text when the textbox retreives focus.
I think there is something wrong with this getElementsByTagName("asp:TextBox"); , I have also tried getElementsByTagName("TextBox"); , getElementsByTagName(":textbox"); and getElementsByTagName("input"); .
But no one of them gets the textboxes array.
Can anyone tell what will be the correct syntax for getting all the textboxes inside a create user wizard control using getElementsByTagName()?
I am wondering if it is possible to create AJAX Toolkit control using JavaScript/JQuery or not. I know that I can create controls at server (at design or code-behind) and interact with its properties using JavaScript but I would rather want to initalize and create controls at client side using JavaScript/JQuery.
I have started a simple website using ASP.NET but it is not an AJAX-enabled project. Now what I need is to use an AJAX control specifically Autocomplete) but I do not know how to add it to my website. What I should do guys? Do I need to add something in my library? What should I do in order to see it in the toolbox?
I have used ajax CalendarExtender in my web site but after uploading it does how show the calander control. I have registered the control on the page itself. The page postback when i click the image on which i applied the control.
I'm developing a Asp.Net website that will be used for a lot users. Would you recomend the use of Ajax Control Toolkit on these kind of website?I'm trying to imagine the worse scenario. Maybe with one user it will work perfectly.By the way, I only use this controls from Ajax Toolkit:ValidatorCalloutExtender, MaskedEditExtender and AsyncFileUpload.
I made myself a Partial View that list a set of items.
Each item have a checbox and the control have 2 dropdowns (Actions like delete, archive, etc and Filters)
At the moment this works. I have a little JavaScript (jQuery) that fire when one of the dropdowns are changed and post the form (the checked item's id) to my controller action where I do an ugly "if this, then that" depending on the selected action and then render the form again.
It works fine, but a single view can hold several of these controls, and loading all the data over is a bit overkill.
I figured I need to create some Ajax control that does the same job, and just update the control the user select an action or filter for.
on my web page i submit some data on click at button , this block is inside update panel.
this functionality working fine in 3.5 frame work.
Now our website is using 4.0 frame work.
controls inside update panel giving following error on submting data :
Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 500.
I have been given the task to create a TAB control ( probably the Jquery tab control) as the company wants the Lazy loading of data.
The tab control should not have fixed items on it. It should be reusable in different projects . So I cannot fix the items in the tab control. Depending upon the project the tabs can change.
Need some great ideas on how I can achieve it.
Note: I am using MVC, VS 2008, C# for my development.
I am try to migrate an asp.net web application to mvc. The problem im having is that it uses all asp controls and a ton of ajax control extenders like filtered textbox, masked textboxes, confirm extender, modal popup, the calander, ect...
How can I implement these extenders with the Html.Textbox controls?
I want to create a new web server control that adds AJAX functionality to the existing asp.net 3.5 gridview control. But I am not sure which project to use - asp.net server control, or asp.net ajax server control.
I have a asp.net website in the IIS which is available on internet as www.xyz.com now I have been asked to prepare another website which will be accessed via www.xyz.com/abc.
For this, do I need to create a virtual directory under the website folder XYZ in IIS? or is there any other way to achieve this.
I am creating a web site through command line. I am able to create a web site with single host address. But i want multiple host address for a website. this is the command I am using iisweb /create D:Test Test.com /d [URL]
I am searching already the web for some hours to get this working. I created a custom control (ConfigTree), which has a treeview as part of it. I put the custom control into an update panel. So far so good. When I click on different buttons (in ucc:ConfigTree) or the treeview in the custom control an async postback is done. When clicking on a node in the treeview an event for the parent element (ConfigTree) is generated, which populates again an event (NodeSelected) for the parent element (shown below). Different parent elements can handle the event differently. In one element (this one) I need to transform the async postback in a real postback with full page refresh. For better understanding see the following code:
[Code]....
the parent element (here shown) should process the OnNodeSelected and transform it into an full postback and not just an async postback, but only this event, all the other events in the ucc:ConfigTree should processed async. How can I do that? Is there a method to call in the code behind?
