I am new to WCF, I was using web service asmx before. I have trouble on making my wcf JSON ajax service work through http like asmx.Could you help me see what wrong in my code?My WCF services are defined in my website application folder. My aim is to call this service in my aspx page java-script code and return complex object back as JSON to my javascript. I have no problem on doing this through classic asmx web service.
When I try to test it through my browser by type this in the URL , URL-http://localhost:3849/WebServices/Account/WCFCompanyService.svc/GetAll. it return "Method not allowed."
But if I type just this URL-http://localhost:3849/WebServices/Account/WCFCompanyService.svc, it return this:

When I remove the Update panel and AJAX control, my validation starts working, but when keeping both the things together, my validation is not working. How could I make them work together?

When I removes ajax extender and Update Panel. My textbox gets validated and when using UpdatePanel. No javascript function created by me is called.
I can't make this control work, the code i'm using to test it is:

So the buttons are not showing, I could add them manually but then a postback would occour on everyclick.
I'm using the technique described on this link to make all TextBoxes on the site highlighted when focused. Basically, in the Page_Load event of the MasterPage I set the onFocus and onBlur attributes for every TextBox found on the current page:

Everything worked fine until I decided to add the UpdatePanel on one page which is used for frequent data entry. Now, when the page loads initially everything is ok, but after the first asynchronus postback is made, controls inside the UpdatePanel seem to loose their onBlur and onFocus efects (controls outside the UpdatePanel are still working fine). I'm not in the best "relations" with AJAX and javascript :)
I got a a problem when using ToolkitScriptManager on masterPage with other webForm in SUbDirectory. Everytime I run other webform in the SubDirectory there was an Error "The ScriptManager must appear before any controls that need it". Then I added ToolkitScriptManager to that page I got another Error "Only one instance of a ScriptManager can be added to the page". hmmmm then I removed the ToolkitScriptManager from the MasterPage, It's worked for that page.
on that SubDirectory I had a webConfig file.

View 2 RepliesI am currently building an asp.net webforms application in ASP.NET C# using Visual studio 2008 and the Framework .NET 3.5.In my application main page, I use some javascript code to make AJAX calls to different handlers (.ashx files) in order to get some information.In this handlers définition (in the CodeBehind), I use the Oracle provider for .NET (Oracle.DataAccess.Client) to get the requested information from an Oracle database.The thing is, when I make a first call to one of these handlers, everything works just fine, but when the main page try to repeat the call in order to update the information requested, I encounter a problem.In fact, it appears that the different Oracle SQL request results that were made during the first call are still in memory and that the requests are not repeated correctly in order to obtain the updated information from the database. The application keeps the first results and this is these results that are sent back to the main page once again.I don't know how to force the handler to obtain new results and work with it instead of working with the previous results.In the handlers définition, the IsReusable methods are all set to false.I have called the Dispose() méthods of every Oracle object at the hand of the handlers définition and then the System.GC.Collect() méthod to force Garbage Collection. But this does not seem to be sufficient to be sure that nothing is kept in memory.
View 3 RepliesI've got a CollapsiblePanelExtender in place on a panel in test and it works like a champ. (I get excited about the simplest things). When I click the panel header it expands and collapses with smooth animation, as expected and desired.
But when I change its state via code behind, it seems I am merely changing its state and somehow bypassing the javascript that controls the smooth animation.
My markup is out of the box. I have added code behind and some javascript, but I am missing the connection. Here is the javascript:

i followed this tut http://www.ajaxprojects.com/ajax/tutorialdetails.php?itemid=554 for cascading drop downs, but i changed the sql connections for my linq datasource. VS2010 is showing no errors in my code and the page loads fine too, but the two drop down lists are emptycan anyone scan there eyes over it and see if theres any reason why it shouldnt be working?my code is the same as the tuts apart from it uses LINQ instead of SQL

I am trying to get the modalPopup to work. Don't get any errors, the panel popsup as is supposed to, but the background doesn't gray out and the background of the panel doesn't display correctly either (it is black). The background of the main page doesn't change. To make sure I wasn't doing something wrong, I downloaded the samplcode (vb) from the AJAX website, and created a completely new web page, css file, .vb file, etc. Still have the same issue. I am using the latest version of ajaxcontroltookit ( 4.1.40412.0), VS 2010 RC, and VB)

In this case nothing happens. Is it possible to use HandleErrorAttribute to update the target element with the contents of an "Error.ascx" partial view?

CustomValidator doesnt work on controls which are in detailsView after performin for example update on that detailsView. For example RequiredFiledValidator works with no problem while CustomValidator has problems (Validation doesnt occur):/

View 3 RepliesI have been trying to make a program work with our IIS server, but it's run into a tricky problem that's been driving me nuts. When I debug the program, everything works perfectly; users are able to log in and they see the appropriate content according to the user's role. When logging in from a remote location, however, the program seems to have trouble finding the users' roles. Users can log in, but they cannot see any role-specific information, so they are stuck on the login page forever.
I tried adding a line of code to find the roles of a particular user. In debug mode, it returned the roles correctly, but when accessed through the server, it returned an empty array that caused my site to crash.
i have a text box, on text_changed event i get one data table which i bind with the grid view, but every time i have to move the cursor out then only it feteches the datatable, while i want to make this search like if i as i change the character in the text box it keep working for all without removing the cursor from the text box, how can i achieve this. Should i use any java script or what.
