AJAX :: Modal Popup Doesn't Work Using Sample Code Letter For Letter

I am trying to get the modalPopup to work. Don't get any errors, the panel popsup as is supposed to, but the background doesn't gray out and the background of the panel doesn't display correctly either (it is black). The background of the main page doesn't change. To make sure I wasn't doing something wrong, I downloaded the samplcode (vb) from the AJAX website, and created a completely new web page, css file, .vb file, etc. Still have the same issue. I am using the latest version of ajaxcontroltookit ( 4.1.40412.0), VS 2010 RC, and VB)

I think this is a little tricky problem, but I need to solve it somehow. I have a texbox in my asp.net page. I want to show all names when a user types in a letter in that textbox, whatever names starting with that letter. the names are from a list generated by other function, pulled out from active directory. So for example: User types in "a" in a textbox then automactically names "aron" "asron" "amanda" in the list shows, and user can select one of those names.

I want to maintain the consistency of my database, I want the first letter and every letter after a space to be capitalized before the record can be entered into the database. Currently my validator expression (^[A-Z]+[a-zA-Z]*[0-9]*[^f
v]*$) can achieve only the first capital letter and it can't check on the letter after every space, so what is the expression to achieve that?

I am looking for sample code where a button click on the server side will spawn a modal child page, having couple of controls such as textboxes and a button, where one could enter values in the text boxes and click the button; once the button is clicked, the page should postback to the parent page, where the entered values could be read. There is a video on this site about AJAX control kits describing modal popup, but unfortunately it wouldn't serve my purpose.

Heres the situation: I need update a column from my table (T1) from two other columns in a different table (T2).
My constraints are:
That I have to match the first 4 letters of a column in T2 to one column in T1 I have to identify that the first letter in a column in T1 corresponds to one letter in the middle of a string in a column in T2 For instance:
My Table (T1):
Order Type Combined
Place
0090 0001 YYXX 1YY
0091 1001 YYXX YYY
0092 1002 XXXX 2XX
Table 2 (T2):
Order Value
00900001YY XX
00911001YY XX
00921002XX XX
The Combined column in T1 is what i'm trying to complete. The T1.Place column contains the first character that I want to check for.
If it's a "1" then I want to make sure the 5th letter in T2.Order is a "0" If its a "Y" then I want to look for a "1001" If its a "2" then I want to make sure the 8th letter is a "2" in T2.Order
If all that matches then I was the last two letters in T2.Order + T2.Value to be combined and put into the appropiate spot in T1.Combined

I have a small problem, I have a page which 4 jQuery modal popups. everything works fine, all the popup comes up however when i click on the button inside the jQuery popup nothing happens. I cannot figure out why.

14 days ago all emails were being delivered without any error, but now none of the email is delivered neither from local site nor from hosted site.I did not change any single letter of code in web.config and in pages.
Web config file is as follows.

On debugging it always fires the catch block. Earlier I never had such problem with emails but for last few days none of the email is being delivered.Is it my system problem? I am using a masterpage that contains a javascript script (does not matter what it does) and on each page under that masterpage I am registering that script to run on page load. On the page under the masterpage, I am calling a modalpopupextender to display on a button click. Now, if I disable the register startupscript, the popup extender works fine, if I register the startup up script it does not
here is the script regster call
ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(Me, Me.GetType(), "addscript", "miscscript()", True)
I have also tried this
Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(Me.GetType(), "addScript", "miscscript()", True)
I had this working fine using the second example when using .net 4 and the Ajax toolkit for 4 but I am now having to rollback to 3.5 due to a vendor requirement.
Here is a little bit of extra info:
If I put the script in page and not in the masterpage and just run with a window.onload, both work fine, which is why I have figured that it must be something that I am doing with the registration of the script.
When I say it does not matter what I put as the sript, I mean, it can be a complex element property adjustment or a simple alert, nothing seems to work.
I have this script in the masterpage because the script is used on everypage of the website.
I am also using the modalpopextender.show() on button click instead of using the element that it is attached to being the launching element.

I have a huge content on a page which scroll's down vertically and when I try to popup a modalpopup control on this page, some part of the screen is not grayed out on IE6 and user can interact with the background page ( even when modal popup is open) . This happens only on IE6 works fine on IE8 and firefox .

As the title of this post already mentioned, I'm using a modal popup window to edit rows in the gridview. One column in the gridview contains an URL code. When I fire the edit button a popup opens and show the URL in a textbox in this format: [URL]
When I am using the Server.HTMLDecode function, the modal popup doesn't close anymore.
I am using the following code:

The funny thing is, when I change it to: txtURL.Text = row.Cells[3].Text; then I can close the modal popup, but unfortunately it is not decoded.

I try to create a asp.net 4 webpage, using masterpage.

form2 controls : label and button with text as "Proceed".

I have several dropdownlists and added this extender to two of them successfully. Two others are getting weird results for the PromptText/SearchText. They show up as a barely readable '...' and the last character that was typed. I've tried making the ddl wider and making more room on to, neither helps. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

I have an Ajax ModalPopupExtender on a page. To summarise. I have a link on a page, when I click the link the modal popup displays. On this modalpopup I've a textbox and an 'ok' and 'cancel' button. I have a modal popup extender and I try to setup the image url, title and text in code behind but all I get is the popup, with no text, title or image and can't see why. All I see is the OOK button near the top of the dialog box. This is what I have:

I'm using the following function (found on this forum) to display a popup control from the server-side:
on the server:

this works great for explorer 8 , firefox, chrome but on explorer 7 my page just jumps to the left and doesn't show the popup at all.
If I remove the set__parentElementID call, then the popup is displayed but in the wrong position (of course).

I copied the code from this tutorial:
[URL] into a page in a test project.
The problem is that when i push the client side button, it shows the popup and immediately refreshes (reseting to initial state of course).
Why is this happening in my new web project, but in that tutorial's demo doesn't?
I'm using IE7, FF3.5, VS2008, latest Ajax Control Toolkit.
