My servers are behind F5 load balancer, I wanna use HttpRuntime.Cache in my web application but I didn't find out the way for to use that method for those using network load balancing server. Or can we store that HttpRuntime.Cache to sql server like the session we do in web.config file?
I am relatively new with the usage of asp.net and AJAX technologies and i am trying to add some ajax functionality to my web application. So, I was interested in finding out what the advantage is of using asp.net ajax libary and controls over the usage of simple javascript XMLHttpRequest.
My ASP.NET MVC 2 application runs under built-in local NETWORK SERVICE account. I want to set up access permissions for the folder which resides in another computer, but in the same domain. I located that folder right-clicked to open its properties form, clicked to Security tab and pressed Add button which displayed Add user form with correct domain name in the location field. I referred to the account with following syntax:
<domain name><server name>$
because I learned that NETWORK SERVICE account uses machine account when connected to other computers in the domain. However, the system couldn't find the account, so refuses to add the account. Without the domain name it adds a user, but that user seems to be local user, not web server's NETWORK SERVICE account. What am I doing wrong?
By the way, the above syntax worked when I created login for the sql server which is different computer from the web server.
I am building a website in which all of the site layout is in Master page and the content of the site is in the inherited pages. I have various links for navigation in which i simple use Response.Redirect to transfer to different pages. Now the problem is that I want to put the content place holder inside Ajax Update panel so that the postbacks are Asynchronous and I want to show the postback by an animated image inside Update Panel progress control. The problem is that I am unable to achieve this result and the entire page is posted back and rendered again. I have placed the content place holder inside the Ajax control toolkit's Update panel but it does not work. Is there any way that I can change the content of the content place holder to a new page with asynchronous postback.
I have my website up and running, and i've got many respones from surfers that the Accordion object that I have on one of the pages won't openpanes. I geuess that it got something to do with old browsers or security settings, but I'm not sure which. Besides, assuming that it does has somethingto do with old browsers to bad settings, what can i change in the Accordion's settings to make sure it will run on old browsers as well?
I have two web services on two different servers communicating

For the web site I'm building (targeted at mobile users) I'm thinking of using some Ajax controls. I'd like to know which mobile browsers do and don't support Javascript and Ajax, so I can know whether I've at least covered the majority of my target market (i.e. iPhone, Droid, Nokia, Opera). If not, I'll have to find an alternative way of presenting my forms.
I would like to use the accordion control to show different portions of an input form.I would like to use it to edit existing information. The code samples I have seenuse Eval data binding. Can I use the Bind method?
I recently switched from freetextbox to the built in Ajax editor because of issues ftb had with update panels. The Ajax editor works great except for one problem, it messes up my spanish characters. For instance, it will replace ñ with ? and post the to my database. Is there anyway to not make it do this and leave it as the actual ñ ? if the same characters is placed in a standard textbox it will submit with no problem.
I'm beginner in AJAX. I was developing an ASP.Net Web-Site (MVS 2008, ASP.Net version 2.0.50727), so on current step I need pop-up windows with server code functionality. I decided to try AJAX. I have downloaded the latest version AjaxControlToolkit.Binary.NET35, added dll to Bin folder, and writed code as: [Code]....
I use ScriptManager coz I can't compile project with ToolkitScriptManager. When I start web site I can't get the expected result, only I get script error message like "Object doesn't support property or method".
I'm now getting into EF and from what I'm seeing so far, I wouldn't have to worry about writing stored procedures any more. Looks like EF takes care of all of that -- including INSERT's that store data in multiple tables. One of the things they taught us when learning stored procedures was that they're compiled which has performance benefits. How does EF 4 fare against using stored procedures?
Sometime, ajax request will not be responsed when user's network delay is high. So,if I want to stop the request and tell user "request time out" in the client ,What sould I do with asp.net ajax .
I am supposed to create a intranet web application and the question is what technology I will use? is that the ASPX with C # or the Java EE. in any case I want to know the great advantages that I will receive.
Since Themes in ASP.NET are used to style elements of your site, I was just wondering why would you use Themes rather than CSS, or is it common practice to use both? If so, when would you opt for one versus the other and why?
Just seems to me like Themes are kind of unnecessary, so I am just looking on clarification if there really is a good reason to use them, or it's just a part of the framework as an alternative(unnecessary) step to styling your site.
