AJAX :: Update A Label On Parent Page From UpdatePanel?

I have a user control embedded in an UpdatePanel. I'm trying to display a message on the parent page which contains the UpdatePanel when I complete some work in the code-behind of the usercontrol. It appears that due to the partial postback the event delegates that the original developer used to update the labels with messages don't get updated from calls within the user control. The call to the event delegate is executing and I can trace the execution including assigning the text to the label, but when the page is updated the message is not displayed.
I tried moving the labels inside the user control and therefore within the UpdatePanel and setting up event delegates in the user control page_load but that has the exact same effect.
I have some code that I am working on that uses an UpdatePanel and some dynamically created buttons to perform functions. The problem is that the dynamically created buttons aren't working the same as my test static button, which is behaving exactly as it should be.
So I was wondering if someone would be willing to simply post an example (in VB.NET or C# please) of the following:
An UpdatePanel has a Label and a Placeholder inside of it
The Placeholder has a dynamic button added to it
Clicking on this button will make the Label say "Hi" without performing a full page postback.
If I can just get that much to work, I am sure that the rest of the code will be fine. I just can't seem to get my dynamic buttons to act like my static ones do in an UpdatePanel.
I am trying to trying to setup an updatepanel to update every X seconds, the problem is I don't want the control to actually refresh unless there is new data. So I currently have a child updatepanel in a parent UpdatePanel, the child updatepanel gets refreshed by a timer. But I can't seem to find a way to trigger the parent panel to update. Again, only when certain conditions(data changed) are met.
I've exempted the irrelevant bits of code. Essentially, I am trying to change the URL of an image control inside of an update panel inside of a custom user control from a function called inside an update panel from my main page. Using UpdatePanel.Update() isn't working: I end up waiting for the next full page POST to occur before all the updates I make to CustomControl from buttons within the main page's update panel are visible. I verified that Update() was being called via the debugger: there are no issues in that department.
Here, you can see Custom Control and the Button declared. The button is in an update panel to avoid giving a full POST and causing the whole page to reload.
This control stores images within their own seperate update panels because rerendering the images is very slow (it requires processing arrays of millions of datapoints) and the user only ever needs to modify one image at a time. I'm using Image1 as an example.
i have a website with three UpdatePanel Control and inside of each UpdatePanels has ONE Gridview and a SqlDataSource Control.
all gridviews are connected to its own SqlDataSource Control. so technically when i run my website all gridviews automatically get their data from their respective SqlDataSource Control and display them accordingly.
but what i need to do is instead of letting all the update panels to load each gridview their data upon Onload event, i need the updatepanel to update on queue, (Technically changing the UpdateMode to Conditional does not solve my problem.) there will be an event which will trigger the updatepanel to update later.
Page_A.aspx has a text box and a Send button. Page_B.aspx has a Label control on it, inside an UpdatePanel
I want that when I type something in Page_A.aspx and click Send, the text of Label on Page_B.aspx should be updated with the text box text and the UpdatePanel should be updated. Is this possible?
Problem is the lblname1, lblphone1 and lblemail1 do not update on the page with the new values, if I step into the routine I can see the values and a success asssignments but on the page I get NO values. I removed from code the updatepanel and I get the values on page.I also tried conditional updatemode with no success but again I get NO values.

I have a button that is inside of an updatepanel, I want it so that whenever the user clicks on the button it would update items in the updatepanel and after that it would activate the animationextender but I can't do that as of now because on the button I have OnClientClick="return false;".
i am using a TabContainer and at each TabPanel i have embed an UpdatePanel in order to update each tab alone.

the problem is that it makes several seconds to update each tab (the same time for every tab) and i asume that this is happening because it updates all the TabContainer and not the selected Tab.
I have two updatepanels on my site (upanProfileSearch and upanMemberList). When I hit the button in the upanProfileSearch it should bind the Data Items in the gridview in upanMemberList and here make a RowFilter on the text in upanProfileSearch. When I make a run to curser, I can see, it happens. It makes a RowFilter. but it doesn't update the gridview. Can anyone tell me why it doesn't update? I have UpdateMode="Always" and RenderMode="inline" on both UpdatePanels.
I am having a weird issue with the update panels. I have an update panel in UpdateMode = Conditional . I have a dropdown list and a grid view..the gridview has to be updated ÖnSelectionChanged event on the dropdown.
The issue here is on changing the selection on dropdown, the onselectionchanged event is triggered, new data is grabbed, bound to gridview..but does nt update the update panel even after the updatepanel.update();
I have an extra asp.net label to show success or error message after the add, update or delete a row, but using the BlockUI, I am unable to do it, cause the label is somehow not refresh even if i put it under the BlockUI.
I either don't understand or I'm not using AJAX right. I'm running a long report. I'd like to have a label to show the user that the "Report Running", then, that the report has finished. But, when the user runs another report, I'd like to have the label that shows "Report Finished!" to clear so that you don't have "Report Running!" and "Report Finished!" on the screen at the same time. But, the label will not clear???? I get both lables showing. What am I doing wrong?
I have an UpdatePanel with a button and a label. Inside the button click event I call a web service which returns a string. I then want to append that to the label. Simple! Except that it doesn't work. I can change the label to a value I set inside the click event but when I try to add the web service string it doesn't work.
I have been trying to override the PreRender event, to use a ViewState, to set EnableViewState on the Label to be false. Nothing. Works. At All. If I set a break point inside the OnPreRender override I can see that lbl1.Text is being set to the value that I want (i.e. the value from the web service) but it doesn't appear on the browser.
