I am using a Aynchronous file uploader control to upload files.when I click on browse file button it opens a default dialog box. But i want to open it for a folder which is created by me on my system is any way to do this.

I have made it a shared folder so that I can access from windows by samba. So, file transfer is successful when I'm using os but when I try to upload something from my websites uploader to this folder, this process is not successful. I have given all permissions to this folder.Don't know whats the problem.I have used both type of slashes for directory but still it is not successful.

I have a requirement by my client to be able to upload extremely large files.
I'm talking about 7 GB files. The website they are currently running on is a ASP.NET 4.0 app, so obviously the standard upload scheme for my web app is not going to work.
I'm tossing around multiple options trying to figure out what the best route to go would be.
One option I'm thinking about seeing if I can do would be to have a BitTorrent Uploader. The end users for this app will typically have the same file on hand, so the idea would be that an end user would go to the site, say that they wanted to upload a file. At that point, they would pick the file, and then the server would immediately mark that person as a seed for that file. Then, my web app would go to a preconfigured leech on our side, and instruct the leech to download the file. I would expect at some point during or after this process the torrent would do some magic to find other seeders on the client's network, or wherever, but that's the idea.
Is there any technology out there already that does this? Or am I describing something that I'm going to have to build from the ground up?
I have an Async File Uploader control inside a Repeater which is inside an update panel. Now,I am uploading the file into ftp,so I am not uploading the video file,using SaveAs() method. For uploading the file in ftp,I have this UploadFile method which takes these four parameter:FileName, UploadPath, FTPUser, FTPPassword.Now this FileName,I have to send the full file path. View 1 RepliesI have a async file upload control and I am doing client side validation for Image."OnClientuploadstarted" I am doing the client side validation.My validation is working fine but my problem is that the file upload control text box goes green (i.e file is loaded on the server) even if the validation fails which is I dont want.What I want is when the client side validation fails the file does not gets loaded on the server and the Async file upload textbox does not goes green.I have goggled but have not found a suitable solution.

For that i tried to use Page properties IsAsync, IsCallBack but even page is posted back on responce of File Upload these properties are false,only IsPostback property is True.
Why IsAsync and IsCallBack properties are false ?
I was thinking that since this control upload files Asyncronously, so atleast on File Upload IsAsync property should be True.But that is also false .
Is there a way to add a file upload progress bar to the existing .net file uploader? I have an uploader on my site that has all kinds of things tied to it that I can't change to use an AJAX uploader. Or as far as I know I can't. So I was wondering if anyone knew how to add the progress bar to the asp.net uploader.

Every thing is working fine, except for the fact that when i try to upload the file on the server i am getting an error: (probably some authorization exception).
do i need to give some rights to the upload up there on the server. If so then for which account and do i need to restart the server after giving rights?

I've been using this setup for a while and it works great, however I'd like to integrate a drag and drop system into this so the user can just drag files into the browser window and have them upload that way.
I need a multiple file uploader dialog,that means I can able to select multiple files at a time in file upload window.How can I achieve this task? I gone through Google and I came to know that we can achieve this using silverlight and flash plugins,but these are not recomandable in my application. Is there any open source(i.e free) ActiveX controls for Multi file Uploader? Is it possible to create own ActiveX control to achieve this task.
