AJAX :: Error When Trying To Get The Toolkit Script Manager Onto A Page?
May 31, 2010I'm trying to use the AJAX Control Toolkit on a content page that uses master pages. I want to put the ToolkitScriptManager on the Masterpage because there are multiple going to use the toolkit. When I try to drag the any of the controls onto the Masterpage, or a content page, I get an error in a dialog box. It says "The operation could not be completed. Invalid FORMATETC structure." I used the AJAX Control Toolkit in a website project yesterday with out any issues. I'm trying to use it in a web application project today which it should work in. I've read a few articles online but can't get a solution to work. I deleted the tab in the tool box, recreated it, choose the items for the new tab. I unloaded and reloaded the project. I verified that the correct version of the framework is being targeted.

AJAX :: Control Toolkit Causes WCF Error / $inetinfo Is Undefined
Apr 16, 2010I am using both the AJAX Control Toolkit HTMLEditor and making AJAX WCF calls from my web form. Since we can only have one Script Manager per page, I am using this:

When my page loads, I do an initial AJAX WCF call and it works.

If I take out the AJAX Control Toolkit script manager and replace it with this:

JQuery Ajax Call Failing With Undefined Error
Jun 5, 2010My jQuery ajax call is failing with an undefined error. My js code looks like this:

My ajax source is a generic ASP.NET handler:

Now, if I return an empty object ("{ }") in my handler, the call will succeed. But when I return any other JSON object, the call fails.
The dataFilter handler shows that I am receiving a correct object. Firebug shows the response as expected, and the JSON tab shows that the object is parsed correctly.
So what could be the cause?
[Edit] I should have actually written "when I return any invalid JSON object, the call fails"! :D

The whole website runs fine without any problem except for the case after url routing. When a username is typed in the url after the website name then the routed aspx page opens up giving the following error:

The errors are 'Sys' is undefined & WebForm_SaveScrollPositionSubmit' is undefined. I have cleaned the bad site, copied the code from the good site, including web.config, and still see the problem. This was working for a number of months, then I guess we didsomething, and now the errors.

If a user select a Master Page then Script Manager will be already available with them but if they select simple page the web user control's ScriptManager should be used. When I place ScriptManager inside Web user control it create conflict when used with master page. Can we do something to ignore usercontrol's script manager if scriptmanager already exist on the page. I hope I have explained my point clearly.

AJAX :: Update Panel And How To Keep Script Manager In The Content Page
Jul 7, 2010i m facing a strange problem, i have a script manager and form in the master page and in the content page i have two drop down list which are in update panel it is working fine in internet explorer and not working in other browsers. The problem is if i select united states as country then if i select some other country it again shows united states i.e the first selected option. Then if i keep the script manager in the content page it works properly.

Jan 4, 2011Tried quite a few things, but cannot make it work. Solution probably a simple switch that has to be set somewhere.
We simply want to set the text properties of two literals. One literal will constitute the form, the other some js code.

In the code behind these literals are populated, the form literal holds a couple of fields, the script literal looks like this:
StringBuilder strScript = new StringBuilder();
strScript.Append("<script language='javascript'>");
strScript.Append("var ctlForm = document.forms.namedItem('{0}');");
strScript.Append("ctlForm.submit();");
strScript.Append("</script>");
ctlPostScript.Text = strJS2; //where strJS2 is the string being returned by the stringbuilder
This is executed when a certain button is pressed. The purpose is to redirect to another site.
This works fine as long as no AJAX is used.
However as soon as AJAX is added, in particular as soon as the script manager is added with partial rendering set to TRUE:

then this stops working. The code in the button is still executed, we checked that, the literals get the right text properties. It appears however that the javascript is not executed. Nothing happens, no redirection.
the problem can be overcome by settin the script manager partial rendering to false, however, when this is done, much of the AJAX functionality stops working.
We think it may have to do with registering the script with the script manager. We tried this:
ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "JSScript", strJS2);//done before setting the text property of the literal
But to no avail.
Anybody has seen this before and knows how its done right?
AJAX :: "Sys._ScriptLoader Is Undefined" Error For AjaxControlToolkit 3.0.31106.0
Feb 2, 2010recently I start using AjaxControlToolkit 3.0.31106.0 and now i suddenly get an errors saying "Sys._ScriptLoader is undefined". Does the Sys._ScriptLoader not exist anymore and if so what is the alternative.

Jul 9, 2010I am calling an AJAX Enabled WCF Service from jscript code and I'd like to bind the results to a very simple template. I get the results by calling the service via its jscript proxy:

In the OnComplete function the DataView is created:

The template which the data is bound to is really simple.
[Code]....
The XML response from the service is something like:
[Code]....
I get an error saying: 'Name' is undefined. I tried to bind Person.Name, ArrayOfPerson.Person.Name and several permutations without any luck. I'm sure I've been missing something here, and there should be an obvious answer.
"Sys" Is Undefined Javascript Error When Run Page By Navigating To URL On Server
Mar 15, 2011using vb.net/asp.net 2005 I am getting a funny javascript error but not when in debug mode, in debug mode when I'm running the application all is well but when I run the page by navigating to the URL on the server I am getting the javascript error:

scrptMan is the name of the scriptManager on the page that I declare on the contentPage. Very strange this is only happening when I access this site outside of the Dev environment. Has anyone seen this before?
AJAX :: 3.5 Script Manager - Error "Ensure The Correct Version Of The Scripts Are Referenced"
Mar 24, 2010I am in the process of migrating the ASP.Web Application from .NET framework 1.1 to 3.5. I installed the VS 2008 (framework 3.5 SP1) and was able to rebuild the ASP.NET web app from 1.1. I downoladed the AJAX Toll Kit library from codeplex [URL] I was able to add the AJAX Toolkit tab in my VS 2009 tool box. I am using the AutoComplete serach extender which works fine when I use the Ajax Tool Kit Script manager. When I use the Ajax Extension Script Manager in place of Ajak ToolKit Script manager I get an error "Please let me know why AutoComplete Search Extender is not working with the Ajax Extension Script Manager.
AjaxControlToolkit requires ASP.NET Ajax 4.0 scripts. Ensure the correct version of the scripts are referenced. If you are using an ASP.NET ScriptManager, switch to the AjaxScriptManager in System.Web.Ajax.dll, or use the ToolkitScriptManager in AjaxControlToolkit.dll.
