AJAX :: 4 Client Template: Binding XML Service Response Error "Name Is Undefined"

I am calling an AJAX Enabled WCF Service from jscript code and I'd like to bind the results to a very simple template. I get the results by calling the service via its jscript proxy:

In the OnComplete function the DataView is created:

The template which the data is bound to is really simple.

[Code]....
The XML response from the service is something like:

[Code]....

I get an error saying: 'Name' is undefined. I tried to bind Person.Name, ArrayOfPerson.Person.Name and several permutations without any luck. I'm sure I've been missing something here, and there should be an obvious answer.

I have seen all the previous posts but did not got any solution. I am using URL routing and the website runs fine untill i change the global.asax file. Till then all the configurations runs properly. The web.config is also correct and ihave added the modules required for URL routing. Now when i change the global.asax file, i get the following error on my masterpage:

I am using both the AJAX Control Toolkit HTMLEditor and making AJAX WCF calls from my web form. Since we can only have one Script Manager per page, I am using this:

When my page loads, I do an initial AJAX WCF call and it works.

But if I try to make an AJAX WCF call after the page has finished loading, I get the following error:

If I take out the AJAX Control Toolkit script manager and replace it with this:

JQuery Ajax Call Failing With Undefined Error

My jQuery ajax call is failing with an undefined error. My js code looks like this:

My ajax source is a generic ASP.NET handler:

Now, if I return an empty object ("{ }") in my handler, the call will succeed. But when I return any other JSON object, the call fails.

The dataFilter handler shows that I am receiving a correct object. Firebug shows the response as expected, and the JSON tab shows that the object is parsed correctly.

So what could be the cause?

[Edit] I should have actually written "when I return any invalid JSON object, the call fails"! :D

I have used url routing on my website to route the user to his/her profile page once he has entered username in the url. The whole website runs fine without any problem except for the case after url routing. When a username is typed in the url after the website name then the routed aspx page opens up giving the following error:

I have a development environment with visual studio 2008 Sp1, I have done a simple page with a combo box using the ajax control kit 3.5. The combo box shows when I run though visual studio. I publish the site to a windows 2003 machine, on IIS 6. It has the .Net 3.5 Sp1 installed. I tried using localhost on the windows 2003 machine to browse to the page and it shows with no issues. Then I tried accessing the page on the windows 2003 machine from a clients machine. and I get the following 2 errors 'Sys' is undefined twice.

I have read through a lot of forumns and tried changing things but nothing seems to work. If its working fine from the localhost, does that mean its an issue at the clients end? but that makes no sense as the client would only get HTML and JS.

"Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.ArgumentUndefinedException: Value cannot be undefined.
Parameter name: type " Error.

if i hit the continue button the page loads but without the functionality of the control,the control that i'm trying to use is the AutoCompleteExtender.

i followed all the video tutorials and read many post about this toolkit but found nothing about this error.

i tried this on both web developr 2008, 2010 and visual studio 2008.

Javascript - Uploadify Response Value Is Always Undefined?

I'm using Uploadify to upload some images with ASP.NET. I use Response.WriteFile() in ASP.NET to return the result of the upload back to JavaScript. As specified in the documentation I'm using onAllComplete event to check for response string from ASP.NET.

The problem is it that the alert(response); is always undefined in JavaScript.

JavaScript code as below:

I have seen many examples where Response.Write returns a value back to the onAllComplete event. But all I get is undefined. I have also tried to use Context.Response.Write, this.Response.Write, HttpContext.Current.Response.Write. They all return undefined.

2. Then I wonder for the 'Sys' is undefined, what is causing that error. I googled and could solve the first error but this Sys error it seems to have countless of solutions that have not worked for me, so I might wonder what can cause this

I have consumed an external webservice in my client application using WCF. And every thing works great in my Dev box(XP with IIS5.1)But when the same application is moved to Prod server(Win Server 2003 with IIS6.0) it fails. Below is the exception caught:

There was no endpoint listening at http://MyExternalWebServiceUrlWithSessionId could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. We have a site running FW 2.0 on IIS 6. Actually two sites (on the same server), one works and one has that little Done with errors note in the lower left. The errors are 'Sys' is undefined & WebForm_SaveScrollPositionSubmit' is undefined. I have cleaned the bad site, copied the code from the good site, including web.config, and still see the problem. This was working for a number of months, then I guess we didsomething, and now the errors.

Basically I have to generate a rather large XPS document serverside and send this back to the client.

The issue I have whilst trying to do this is because the XPS document needs to be created on a STA thread, so either the response is sent back before the async operation is complete (in which case I can't attach the file using the transferfile method) OR I have to wait until the Async thread has completed and then I can send the file using the transferfile method (but this leaves the current page locked out for quite a while).

I am consuming the java web service in .net client, when i sent a request to that web service, i am getting one exception in response object.It says "Client found response content type of 'text/plain', but expected 'text/xml'", along with this message i am getting the response in that exception.

I have a web form which does a full page postback when a button is clicked. This is caused by an update panel trigger. Client-Side: When the button is clicked, an animation gif is displayed Server-Side: When the button is clicked, the server side event changes the content type to excel, binary writes out excel content (byte array) and does Response.Flush() and Response.End() Client-Side: User is asked to either open or download the excel file. Animation gif is still displayed.

Question: How can I detect client side (using jQuery or Ajax) that the response has been completed. There is no page postback because the code-behind has cut off the response by using Response.End().
