I made a project to use the access membership provider from [URL] and it works. But I need to edit my database but when I configure my database, I cannot see the tabel, I can only see the queries in mdb file. when I select the field from query, I am unable to update it. My code is as follows:

i am facing some problem in update, edit and even create new data into my access database using data detail view. i am using microsoft visual web developer 2008, i can do the same when sql server database were to tore the data. but when i try to do the same using access database, an application error. may i know whats going wrong? and how to solve this problem?
Is there an easier/better way to access the RequestContext from within a custom Membership Provider than the following (and further, will this method even work):
So i would like that the page "pag1.aspx" is reached bypassing the "main.aspx" so If I try to digit directly on the server http://localhost/forms/pag1.aspx?C=159 ......correctly appears the login page....and the URL became..
http://localhost/Forms/LogIn.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fForms%2fpag1.aspx%3fC%3d151&C=159 and after login I can see correctly the page1.aspx . when I try to reach the page from my browser..I digit
http://myserver/forms/pag1.aspx?C=159 .... the login page appears...but the url became..
http://myserver/Forms/main.aspx
and after login I cannot see the page1.aspx....but main.aspx
I use access membership prvider and it works. but I am unable to recover passwork. It says that "" membership provider doesn't support to get and zero password." It gives me the error in turkish and I translated it. Something like that. I am using the below code;
When i try to bind the data to gridview/listview from access file using oledb provider its throwing an error specifying that "The 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.14.0' provider is not registered on the local machine.".
[Code]....
And by seeing some articles i changed "Enabled 32 bit applications" as True from IIS. And i have downloaded some DataContext's to work for access, but no use, its not working.
I have a form wilh couple of Drop downs and text boxes and a Data Grid View which displays data from Access Table. When I hit add button on the form, I can see the data being added to the Grid View. But when I close the form and open the Access Database File (.mdb), the respective table is empty. The Access Table is not being updated. Second time if I open the form, the Grid View is also empty.I am pasting my code here.

Is it possible to access textbox text properties from codebehind when gridview is edit mode? for example I can access label's text properties on gridview row databound event.
[Code]....
So I do not like use Text='<%#Eval("ColumnName")%' this method. I want to manage textbox text properties dynamcily codebehind when click the edit button on gridview. When I clik the edit button these code blocks runs
[Code]....
but rowdatabound event fires again and couldn't find label control. It looks for textbox control to bind data but I can not manage this step.
I have my data table generated dynamically binded to grid view. (Autogeneratecolumns true)
in my UI its displaying the column headers.
am not able to access it by grdname.HeaderRow.Cells[0].Text
am not able to get the names from the columns also.
since am binding the columns dynamically i am not able to get access to all the columns
and am able to get only 2 columns which i have mentioned in my aspx which are the command buttons edit and delete.
am trying to access all these in Gridview_RowCommand event. need to get the value in the (dynamic) column named Id for the row on which the edit or delete button is clicked. since it doesnt have a header am unable to access it bcoz i dont know the index of the cell too..
I have created a simple application to edit data in an access database using gridview but its not working , the results are shown correctly , but when i click update nothing happens..
This is my code and i am only able to edit the one data under the category school. But what i nd is to edit the other categories like the name,email...etc..how do i modify my code in the update command.Another thing is to delete the data how do i do that?
I've done this before but can't remember how for the life of me. I used aspnetreg_sql.exe to create the membership tables in my database. But now i cant seem to be able to point my web app to the correct database. In the provider settings in asp.net management interface i only see a radio button with the label "AspNetSqlProvider" but I can only test it (in which it always fails). I can't modify the connection.
I have a website which makes use of Custom Membership/Role Provider, Website used to work fine with my earlier server.
recently we changed our webserver which has IIS 6.0 on Windows server 2003, on this server my site doen't work, i have installed Framework 2.0 and Ajax Extension as well, but only html pages inside this project works but not aspx.
we also have other asp.net websites hosted on this server which runs without any problem but they don't make use of Membership/Role providers
to be precise i do not get any error message aspx jus goes blank, i tried all the options ASP.Net is allowed under Web Service Extensions.
I have 4 file uploader in my form to upload 4 images in the DB for each article submitted. My issue when I want update/edit my article with some new pictures and I want delete or update the old pictures with the replacement with the new one.
How I can implement it? I am using ASP.NET based on VB.NOT .... NOT C#
I created a custom forms authentication and membership provider and it seems to work fine opening up in WAT, creating roles and adding users. Also when I in my mvc app use it to log users in, it works fine. However it seems to fail to determine a user's role (no errors, but just jump over User.IsInRole(...) lines and Roles.GetRolesForUser(); comes up empty. I got a gut feeling I did something wrong with my configuration, so for now I'll post just that:
I have gridview in my page that users can edit their data in gridview... and in this gridview I define label that I want when users click on Edit button it change label3.text:
I want to access membership and profile objects and wants to access profile properties that I have defined in my web app web.config file, from a windows service. I have used this code
foreach (MembershipUser user in Membership.GetAllUsers()) { ProfileCommon userProfile = profile.GetProfile(user.UserName); }
But its giving the followin errors The type or namespace name "ProfileCommon" could not found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) The type or namespace name "MembershipUser" Could not found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
1) the default page loads, it will read the Windows Login of the user opening the page. 2) I'll check if this login exists in a table stored on the webserver.
In this Access Database, there's a 2nd linked table, pointing to another access table on a network location. Now, I want to read data from this linked table. However, at this moment I receive an error:
"The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '\<ip><shared-folder>statistics.mdb'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data".
Some extra info:
- The network folder has read and write permissions for everyone
- the user and group permissions on both access files are set to read/modify/administer for the Admin user (on the tables I want to read from)
- IIS authentication on the server is set to "Windows Authentication" (this is needed so I can read the Windows Login from the user). All other authentication modes are disables (like anonymous, ...)
- When the error occurs, no other program or process has access to the statistics.mdb (so, it can't be locked by someone else)
Like I said before, in this statistics.mdb file, there are 2 tables. One normal table, and another linked table (pointing to a network location)
Searching for solutions, I discovered the following:
- if I don't use linked tables, everything works fine (however, I have to use this linked table)
- even if I connect directly to the table in the network I receive the error. So, I'm pretty sure I don't have sufficient rights to read from this table.
I read that not the Admin user is opening the file, but actually a user called ASP.NET. This user doesn't have the correct rights to do this. However, I'm not sure if this is true.
I have to display data (names) in a random order on the website. The data is stored in a MS Access database. The names must be displayed in a GridView and DataList in different places. I have created a query in MS Access "zorder: Rnd([MarinaAccommodation]![ID])" which works fine in MS Access giving me a different order each time.
The problem is that when I try run it on the website the order remains the same, it does not change each time the page is loaded.
