I have a simple update query to a access database. Works perfectly on my localhost but when I upload it to the server it displays this. The weird thing in the "
monstababy.MailingList.btnSubmit_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) in C:inetpubwwwrootmonstababymonstababymonstababyMailingList.aspx.cs:26" mention of my
local host settings on the server. I have spoken to my host and they have set permissions for the data folder etc but this still prevails. I am positive it

I have used Visual Studio 2008 ASP.NET AccessDataSource Wizard to generate the update command. The gridview edit button works. But when I click on Update Link in Gridview, I get this message:

i got the following error while i am trying to get my web application to run on windows server 2003. I've installed 2007 data access components on windows server 2003 but the web application does not seem to work. The codes that i use is as follows:

I've read a lot of forum posts and almost all of them mentioned ab out the connectionstring being wrong. However, when i ran the codes on my local machine, there were no errors. The error only show when i was running on windows server 2003.

I have a form wilh couple of Drop downs and text boxes and a Data Grid View which displays data from Access Table. When I hit add button on the form, I can see the data being added to the Grid View. But when I close the form and open the Access Database File (.mdb), the respective table is empty. The Access Table is not being updated. Second time if I open the form, the Grid View is also empty.I am pasting my code here.

I am a asp.net learner. I have got seven textbox and a button on the page. I should be able to write text in the textboxes and save them in access database. I can run it OK, but when I write something in the texboxes and try to save it I get the following error.

When i try to bind the data to gridview/listview from access file using oledb provider its throwing an error specifying that "The 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.14.0' provider is not registered on the local machine.".

And by seeing some articles i changed "Enabled 32 bit applications" as True from IIS. And i have downloaded some DataContext's to work for access, but no use, its not working.

im using an access database with less than 50.000 records on a single table, no relations.
ive put the following code inside a two for cycles as per the respective variables (i, j) the connection is opened outside the outer cycle and closed after it, im holding the connection open to save up on open/close time and im using OleDB thinking it would be faster than ODBC. The ds fill operation takes nearly 3 seconds in debug mode, the total process will require almost 4 hours. How is it possible to speed it up?

I created an asp form that connect to my access database, uding windows server 2003 64X but i am having trouble accessing the page due to the error that says provider not installed on local machine,i found some posts online that requested to make the iis allow 32Bit connection which i did; however the error now is gone but the page keep looping without displaying anything.

Let me try to explain my situation. I have a database table which contains, among other things, a boolean column called PermissionSlipRequired. I have a repeater on my page, and before each row in the database is shown in the repeater, I want to use my code behind to check the value of PermissionSlipRequired. Based on whether the value of PermissionSlipRequired is true or false, I want to change the text of a literal within the repeater. That's a real mouthful; hopefully some markup and code will clarify. I am having problems with the asp membership system when uploading it to the web.
I uploaded the database to the web, which works fine, but when i try to login in using the log in control on one page, i get the error:
A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - No such host is known.)
what would cause this? what have i done wrong?

Created a windows service for my local system for sending bulk mail and it is working.But the same if the want to access the db which is there in hosted server and want to install it in my local machine to access the db details from the server , is not working. While starting a service , it is stopping immediately. Is it possible to do so?

I've got a Varchar2 field in my table which I want to convert to a CLOB. I am unsure whether the data would get truncated when selected. If so, what is the limit and does it depend on the database settings?
In my TOAD or SQLPLUS window it gets truncated but this may just be the environment settings. I'm not sure whether it would get truncated in my actual application (I can test this, but up to what size should I test?)
If it does get truncated, what's the best way to display the whole CLOB? There are other fields in my SELECT query, so I think I can't just loop through multiple rows. Is there any way out?

I have a site written for ASP.NET using a library written for ASP. The library resides in a dll and the site calls it to get the number of leave days an employee has left from a database. The dll was outsourced so I don't have access to the source.
I've set up the database and visual studio project locally. When I run the site and login to the system, an error message is displayed where the leave days should be displayed but the site runs normally. If I register the dll using regsvr32, the leave days are displayed when I login, but when I try to browse the rest of the site, the session is dropped and I'm automagically logged out. If I deregister the dll, then I can browse the site once I've logged in again but, once again, the error is displayed.

Excel data will be predefined Format with almost 42 columns and out of 42 10 fields are mandatory and rest are conditional mandatory. i.e. if data exists it should be in defined format. I also need to validate for special character, length, specified format and so on.After validating, i need to store valid data into sql server table and provide export to excel functionality for invalid data for exporting in same excel format with indicator to identity the invalid cells.

I searched online for solution. Only one solution was found at [URL]. But when I followed its steps, I found in my hosts file, it is already like this: 127.0.0.1 localhost
I cannot continue to work without testing finished form pages.

I'm deploying a small ASP.NET (framework 3.5) application in a Windows Server Web 2008 32 bits, IIS 7. The applications needs connection to an Oracle DB in another Server, using the tradicional DataAdapter, Oracle Connection, etc.
Iīve installed correctly the Oracle Client in the server (the server is another serverīs client) and Iīve checked that this server has access to the server where the database is.
Even though my app isnīt able to connect to DataBase. The message says that Oracle components havenīt been found. It doesnīt find the OleDB Provider for Oracle or some dll.
ŋSomething I shluod know about permissions of the ASP.NEt users or something like this?
