In Edit mode, when I check unchecked items, the Update works correctly, but when I clear the checked items, the items are still true in the database. My textboxes and dropdown lists all work as expected. The related code is below. Why won't the cleared checkboxes write to the db? When I set a breakpoint in the ContactRecordOnUpdating method, the values for the unchecked checkboxes are true (which is undoubtedly why they are written to the db that way).
I have got a label that displays the result of the last action (ie "Success - Record Upload") I also have a Validation Summary and when validation fails i want to clear the label so it no longer displays the result of the last action.
The app is written in c# but i havn't posted any actual code as all the user code related to this markup seems to work fine.
The problem is the CheckBox chkTVLic has causes validation set to false and autopostback set to true. So whatever happens when i check and uncheck the checkbox it should postback. Most of the time this is exactly what it does and the result is to show and hide pnlTVLic when it is checked and unchecked. However if any on the validators within the panel fire, the checkbox does not cause a postback the first time. It will on all subsequent times but never the first. However it should ALWAYS cause a postback. What could be stopping it. Before someone asks there is no use written client side code, everything is pure .net markup and c# code.
I have a update panel that is being refreshed every second or so, and the user is inputing data into this gridview via a textbox. when the user presses enter or send i would like the text box to be cleared. I call it to be cleared on my button event but it doesnt. It post to my gridview perfectly but it will not delete the text. I am assuming becasuse the control is outside of the update panel or the timer is a problem, I was looking around for a answer and saw to complete this you have to use java script. Can someone show me how to implement this in my code,
It works fine in Firefox but in IE 7 fails doing the postback sometimes. Is it just a problem with my browser? The partial postback inside the update panel works great in both browsers, but when I hit the button outside the panel, the complete postback doesn;t work in IE....
We have created an ASP application with MS Access as back end. We have implemented this web application on our server machine and accessed the same from on my local machine.
Our application works fine when only one user accesses it (All insert, update works fine). But when multiple users connect to this application and try to update the database, then application get crashed. As per our knowledge, this is happening because of access database get locked, when one user open it in exclusive mode.
but since the value is 'false', it doesn't seem to cast to boolean. What should I do? I don't like checking for == "false" and then converting to boolean. is there a cleaner way? Update All I am doing is:
if (Convert.ToBoolean(request.Form["somecheckbox"])) { }
I am using a gridview to select a record and control that record using a details view. I am using a class based objectdatasource to link the data for select, update and delete. Sofar the select works but the update fails. Here is my error message:
ObjectDataSource 'odsDetailsView_1' could not find a non-generic method 'UpdateSet' that has parameters: setId, TYPE, iHPlayer, iAPlayer, iHRuns, iARuns, iH8Break, iA8Break, iHe8s8, iAe8s8, iH15BRn, iA15BRn, iHWins, iAWins, SET_ID, MATCH_FK, HOME_MEMBER_ID_FK, AWAY_MEMBER_ID_FK, HOME_TABLERUN, AWAY_TABLERUN, HOME_8BALLBREAK, AWAY_8BALLBREAK, HOME_E8S8, AWAY_E8S8, HOME_15BRN, AWAY_15BRN, HOME_TOTALWON, AWAY_TOTALWON, HOME_POINTS, AWAY_POINTS, LOCKED, GROUP_FK.
The first group of parameters have lower case letters and they come from my objectdatasources update method parameters. The second group of parameters are all capitalized and they are the fields in my SQL database table (and I don't know how they wound up in the error). This might be a clue.When executing the code my class method never gets the chance to execute because the error pops up before the code gets there.
I am trying to update NuGet Package Manager from ver.1.0.11220.104 to version 1.1.229.160 using the VS extension manager, but the install fails on VS2010 Ultimate Version 10.0.31118.1 SP1Rel because of a signiture mismatch; see error below.
I have written code to access a text file in another server from my application in javascript. This code works fine in IE but fails in mozilla firefox. Below is the code i have written.
var httpRequest; httpRequest = new XMLHttpRequest(); httpRequest.open('GET', url, true); httpRequest.setRequestHeader('X-PINGOTHER','pingpong'); httpRequest.setRequestHeader('Content-Type','application/plain'); httpRequest.onreadystatechange = function() {alertContents(httpRequest); httpRequest.send(''); function alertContents(httpRequest){ if (httpRequest.readystate == 4){ if (httpRequest.status == 200) { alert(httpRequest.responseText); } } }
I have create user wizard control and i put validation control for all field but when i close user control that validators dint clear in firefox or but clear in IE
To me this should be much easier, but I can't seem to retain the values that are put in the Insert template upon a validation failure or when the sql fails. This will prevent the user from having to retype everything agin in the event of a failure.
As you can see I am using the Sub Insert_Click and not using an insert through the wizard. so the fields are unbound textboxes on the form. There are 2 dropdowns that provide choices for the other fields.
I pasted in the code using the text only option becuase the format was getting messed up. I probably need more background on why the fields are blanking out.
I made a project to use the access membership provider from [URL] and it works. But I need to edit my database but when I configure my database, I cannot see the tabel, I can only see the queries in mdb file. when I select the field from query, I am unable to update it. My code is as follows:
I have 4 file uploader in my form to upload 4 images in the DB for each article submitted. My issue when I want update/edit my article with some new pictures and I want delete or update the old pictures with the replacement with the new one.
How I can implement it? I am using ASP.NET based on VB.NOT .... NOT C#
I have a radgrid controlling access to an application for users. There are two columns, a 'name' column and a checkbox 'access' column representing their current access permission. the checkboxes are populated from a database. I would like the to change the checkboxes to grant or deny access to the users I specify. Since there are alot of users I would like to make multiple changes and use a submit button to write the changes to the database. I do not want to postback with each checkbox change and wait for the page to "blink". My problem is that with the checkbox postback disabled, when I click submit, the value of the checkboxes are not registering the changes I make. I need a way to access the current client-side state of the checkbox or some workaround to accomplish this.
i have a datagrid in which i display a list of complaints lodged by some people. the fields displayed include Call Status, Call RefNo , Details Etc.. i have added a checkbox. the admin should be able to check complaints that he has read and then click on "Mark as read" and then the status of the complaint should change to "Pending" from "New" or from 0 to 1.
There is a GridView with a Checkbox field on the page. And there is a button on the same page. There is a field which is related to the checkbox in the sql. Is there any simple way to update the sql? Not row by row.
I wnat to access the checkbox value of gridview in JS, using for loop,
function sonia() { alert('a'); var gvET='<%=GridView1.ClientID%>'; var grid = document.getElementById(gvET); var rowIdx=1; alert (grid.rows.length); for (rowIdx; rowIdx<=grid.rows.length-1; rowIdx++) { var rowElement = grid.rows[rowIdx]; var chkBox = rowElement.cells[0].firstChild; alert(chkBox.checked); var chkBox = rowElement.cells[1].firstChild; alert(chkBox.text); } return false ; }
I set the autogenerate columns porperty of Gridview to true. In first cell i have checkboxes. My code is not giving me any error. First cell value that is checkboxs comes correctlt,but text of second cell is not coming in second alert.Y so? In second alert,everytime undefined is coming
I'm working on a simple demo project so that I can learn some things about ASP.NET's AJAX capabilities. My problem is that I can't seem to get an UpdatePanel to work properly with a CheckBox inside of it. Here is the markup I'm using in my .aspx file:
Does anyone know how to access the value of a Boolean which is displayed within a gridview as a checkbox?? The standard Grid view will render a bit type (i.e. Boolean) datatype into an ASP:CheckBoxField, but how can i access the value of the underlying data, either true/false.
The code works fine for text columns but I need the value of a Boolean cell.
