Active Directory/LDAP :: Error When Setting AccountExpires Field
Feb 25, 2011
I am trying to set the AccountExpires field on ActiveDirectory through the DirectoryEntry object. I verified the date to be correct value, but i get an error everytime i set it. I set an account to expire on the same date and my values match. Seems to be with my FILETIME math.
I am trying to add given user to administrators group using LDAP , Have gone through different posts but not able to solve problem also want to add network service to administratos group
The asp.net files are on 2008 server running IIS.From a client workstation (i.e. part of domain) I am running the website.Below code is part of the intranet website:
String ldapPathString = LDAP://abc.au.xyz.com:123/OU=User Accounts,DC=au,DC=xyz,DC=com; if(DirectoryEntry.Exists(ldapPathString)) \at this line, I am getting the error
Using VB2005 and in my code behing I have following query:
[Code]....Value of my select string is: select sAMAccountName, displayName, title, userAccountControl from 'LDAP://DC=Vecelliogroup,DC=COM' where objectCategory = 'User' and title <> ' ' and (userAccountControl <> '66050' and userAccountControl <> '514') and sAMAccountName like '%vg%'
Getting error:System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: 'ADSDSOObject' failed with no error message available, result code: DB_E_ERRORSINCOMMAND(0x80040E14).
Now, if I leave out the "title" and the "sAMAccountName" from my select it works fine. I am trying to get records where the "title" is not empty and name matches my prefix.
I am using System.directory services namespace in framework 2 to query active directory. I have used fixed user account impersonisation in the web.config file, find the code:
I have disabled anonymous access in IIS. Also i have given Read & write access to the account tang09 for the website virtual directory and Microsoft.NET folder located in windows folder. But still i get prompted for the domain username and password to access the website.
I got exception at line Object obj = entry.NativeObject; and error message is: Invalid dn syntax specified. how can i take a right dn syntax? I tried some domain name such as: LDAP://localhost:389, [URL], ... but I still get this error
I want to learn how to add/delete/update account (including adding mail boxes for new users). Can someone point to a good book where I can begin from. I want to start with some real basics and build from there.
There is written web part which works with AD (allows to add users in AD). When through it I add the user in AD without password installation all works normally, pages it is updated on pressing of the button and the user is created. But if I to it still try to establish the password after button pressing I receive page with an error 403 Forbidden.
have a probleme with my search filter, i want to list the users of an organizational unit result.filter =(& (objectClass= user)(ou=dep1)); ====> it didn't work for me
I have an old COM+ object that we've used to create AD user accounts with information from our HR system. This process has been broken since a recent upgrade, so I'm attempting to modify the object to point to a new DC and a new inforamtion store during mailbox creation. After modifying the code I am unable to get an account to be crated and the following error appears:error '8007202f' Automation error A constraint violation occurredI am not a developer and I know that this is a long shot but if anyone has any insight into if this is an AD issue or one with VB 6, any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I think this is the relevent code but again, I'm an admin not a developer:
I need to list a group of users, their group name is (IRS Group) to a list group. how to do this. I'm very new to asp.net and dont have much knowlegde about acctive directory.
I am updating some CS code that was written in 2004, and that references some assemblies which extract user data from AD by query filtering on the user's title. I can't test my updated code in VS2010 because the assemblies no longer compile - the references are no longer valid (I can't create a DirectoryEntry or DirectorySearcher) so I need to work out how to replace the code with current directoryservices.accountmanagement namespace properties and methods. I have searched around but don't seem to be getting anywhere. give me some code that will work with vs 2010 to replicate the following:
I have a problem with saving some data into extensionattribute in AD.There is no problem with saving data into properties like "Mobile" or "SN" but when I try to save data into one of extensionAttribute , for example: extensionAttribute7 , I get an error "The attribute syntax specified to the directory service is invalid".There is no problems of read data from extension Attributes.
