Ajax TabContainer Causing Browser To Close Automatically?
Feb 25, 2010
am trying to fix an issue. I have an ASP.NET Ajax's TabContainer on the page. And each tab there is a gridview control that gets binded onload. However for some reason the browser gets closed automatically after the page renders. If I remove the TabContainer then it works fine. I think the binding code will no way effect the browser to close bacause no where in my code I am registering any Script block.Also one notable thing is this happens only in IE 8. It works fine in firefox and other browsers.I don't know if anyone encountered a similar issue before.
If the logged in user either exits out of a directory OR closes the browser......I want to automatically log them out. IS this possible and where is it done? What code can be used for these actions?
how to add close to all the tabs in a tabcontainer.The scenario is, I have only TabContainer on aspx and m populating tabs with UserControls programmatically (with use of DOM). How can I develop the close of a tab with small X on each of the tab? I am not sure how many tabs I have.
When I want to optimize my tab container for network traffic, I faced a rare problem.
When first time the page is requested the content in the first panel is visible. the other panel content are invisible. When user switches the tab i am setting the panel visible and update the updatepanel. this works fine after i have put the tab container inside a update panel and set the update mode conditional and children as trigger as false. But when i include the tab container inside an update panel and change the tab in the browser, i see two postback from the browser in firebug net traffic window. THe first postback status is displayed as aborted. Eventhough the functionality is working correct.
I have website which runs multiple threads. When user close the browser but threads are still running. How to kill/stop all thread in asp.net on browser close.
I can open the modalpopup, can close the popup, but if i click the "edit" button to edit any of rows, the popup closes automatically. If I click again, the "Update" and "Cancel" buttons shows, and after clicking one of those, popup closes again. The above code works, if i use gridview the insert, edit or delete the data, does not close automatically. What may be the cause of this problem.
I am having trouble wiht my AJAX collapsible Panel Extender. I have the CPE opening a panel that contains the Table of Contents of a document being displayed on the page. A user clicks on the link for a certain part of the document, the event triggers a C# function that gets the file that particular section is contained in an displays the section. Right now you have to, of course, click on the TitlePanel to open and to close the CPE. What I want to do is have it close automatically whenever a link inside the content panel has been clicked. I have tried placing this.cpeTOC.Collapsed=true; in the functiion that gets the files but it does not work. I have also tried the autocollapse property of the CPE and it just collapses whenever someone moves thier mouse from the titlepanel.
I have a treeview inside a TabPanel but I have problems with the panel's height. It´s not resizing automatically when I expand the nodes in the treeview.
I have an update panel with a number of [asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger...] controls, and everything was working fine. But now, something keeps inserting duplicate AsyncTriggers, and instead of simply being [asp:AsyncPostBackTrigger...] controls they're [System.Web.UI.AsyncPostBackTrigger...] controls, and I get parser errors as a result. So I delete the duplicate triggers, and they get re-inserted within a few minutes, seemingly randomly.
I have developed a web application which downloads files from FTP server. I want to run this application every day at 09:00 and automatically closed when the job is done.
I tried javascripts "window.close, self.close etc" but couldn't workd.
It is worth mentioning that the website is hosted on Windows Server 2003.
I am not very experienced with VB.NET but I have to build an application using it in order to communicate with some software. Basically, I need to be able to call this exe and have it run to perform some tasks, then close itself down.I have the tasks running on page load but since I don't want the application to actually open, I use a Me.Close() to close it once it's finished the tasks. So, the whole thing works great (the tasks are even performed) except the Me.Close() causes a message to come up saying the application "has stopped working." Is it because I'm trying to close it while it's loading itself?Any suggestions on how to achieve this in a different way?I am forced to perform these tasks in VB, so please don't just say I should not be using VB.NET for this. I know I shouldn't be but I have to.
I recently inherited an asp.net website made up of multiple .aspx and .ascx pages and being rather new to web development and especailly asp.net. I have the site create a cookie upon login to automatically log users back in if the page times out on them while they're entering information.
I need the site to automatically log users out when the site is closed. Obviously using the me.close event on each page won't work because we don't want it to log people out every time they navigate to a new page in the site.
I've tried setting the timeouts in both IIS and in the files of the website to longer but it doesn't seem to have an effect.
Is there an easy way to automatically log users out when they leave the site but not when they navigate from page to page.
im exporting data in excelfrom ssrs report.While exporting report to excel its took sometimes 10-15 mins and some times its automatically close the IE.Im using ssrs 2005.I have noted that there are total 37000 rows in excel.Is this creating a problem for extracting report or something else.My server have the configuration like :-

I need to implement a "preview" functionality where people make changes to a form, click a button and a pop-up window displays the preview while the original form retains the user's changes in the various <textarea's. Right now, the preview is working, but when they come back to the form, their changes are gone, the page has refreshed. How do I prevent the page from refreshing? I need to go to the server to get the URL to the preview page.
How would I update a table in a SQL database if/when someone closes their browser after visiting a webpage?I'm manually set-up a table which will be updated when the person logs in; their login time. I have it configured so that if they click on logout, it'll update their log-off time. The issue is that if they just close their browser, I need it to update the table with this time
In my web application, I use an exit button which runs session.abandon to close the session and then close the browser.It does not work with multi-tabs in IE. If I open my application in two tabs, I click on the exit button in one tab which abandons the session and close the tab. But the application in another tab can still work.Is there any way to close the session for this application in all the tabs?
I am using visual web developer express edition and Im a new user of this tool. Im just trying to close a browser when the user clicks a button. The code below has two discrepancies. First, if you are using IE it works fine,however if you will be using other browsers like google chrome or firefox it will just close the browser if the button is the first control to click in the first time but if you have already click or use other controls on your page or has already browse another page it will not close anymore. Why is that? I need a code that is capable of closing any type of browsers anytime a button is click.
Here's my code:
<script language="javascript" type ="text/javascript" > function CloseBrowser() { window .close (); }
Now in login page after firsttime login i set some session data... like protected void Login_LoggedIn(object sender, EventArgs e) { //..... Session["EMPLOYEELOGGEDIN"] = "Y"; //..... }
Now say i close the browser... and next time when i open the site it takes me directly to the default page [Login_LoggedIn is not called accordingly]... because i'm already logged in for 30 mins acc. to configuration. but as my session id gets changed i can't access Session["EMPLOYEELOGGEDIN"] from any page in this time. It always returns null. But how do i get back the previous session for that person?
