Architecture :: Store The Bulk Datas In A Single Click?
May 31, 2010
I want to store the bulk datas in single click . My problem is, i have a one pop up page( for item details) in that page i have another grid(for serial details, which is contain serial no details like, serial no,its date, asset no, etc.,,)1, I have to select the item grid , and have to update the its serial no details, ( for an item can contain more than one serial no's based on its quantity).2, When i select the first item and adding some serial no details too.3, Then again i choose next item and doing some update like adding serial no, now i have a problem like i have to kept these data's ( like first item serial no details) and second added serial no details ,,now i have to insert all the details in a final submit, i don't know how to do that and which concept i can use,
Lets say i have a button control on a page and a label control. On clicking this button it performs series of actions say Action 1 , Action 2. Action 20 which will take say approx 1 hour to complete. What i need is, once this long processing is started, My web page should show the status of each action on label. Eg. After clicking a button, Label1 text should be "Action 1 is started" after Action1 is completed and Action 2 is started ,.... Label1 text should be "Action 1 Done...Action 2 started" I need this so that my user can see whats the current state of processing.
hey folks I got a general question that maybe some of you can just weigh in. I developed an online store for a client and people place orders online for a food ordering place however I am trying to find the best way to have the orders show up for them at the store. Currently I am sending an email and an autoprint software prints it out which works most of the time but not good enough sometimes it doesn't print. Anyone had similar issues or have other alternative solutions you may have heard off? Like I said the site sends an email to the customer and the store's email account.
I have a requirement like i have bulk of excel data which i have do validate and if it is okay then i need to insert the data in the DB .
Validations includes like datatype, length, precision.. etc ... Wil ahve thousands of records.
Earlier validation was done in the Stored procedure side where the developer moved the data to the temp table and loop through each row and validate it . But we are acing performace isues and some time time out error as well.
So i thought of silution like , Convert the execl data to datattable and validate the data in UI instead of the DB.
My ISP manager complains that my pages open too many connections and it should be dealt with immidiatly.Now, i'm not sure what exactly he means.Most of my pages look something a like : Two drop-down-lists, one gridview, and few other controllers.now, MOST OF THESE CONTROLLERS POST BACK AND FETCH INFO FROM THE DATABASE.each of the eventhandler create a new connection instance, open a connection, fetch info, and than closes the onnection.Thing is that many users visit the site at (probably) the same time, so i was wondering how could I decrease the number of connections?Perhaps making sure that the connections do close immidiatly post command execution?
I'm implementing version control system using WCF service and client application. I can not figure out, how to store files on the server side to easily access different versions.
We, at our company, are developing a file sharing application which will allow users to upload/download files. This application will be part of the suite of other applications. We will be adding a desktop client (windows app) which is an upload/download manager which will assist users to queue in multiple large files for upload/download. There are a couple of questions related to design for these applications:
1. We would like to implement Single Sign-On for all these applications (including desktop client). We would like users to login to web and once they do that, they can browse through applications without logging in again. We will be implementing a authetication service using WCF. The requirement is that we do not want to add authentication functionality to desktop client. So users will need to login to our web application. We can write cookie to user's machines and will work for web applications. Can the desktop client use the same cookie to autheticate itself? Or there are other ways we can achieve it? 2. We also do not want that when desktop client is uploading/downloading multiple files that its session is expired and the user need to re-authenticate through web. How can we achieve it? How does other Upload/Download Managers (like MS File Trasnfer Manager) work?
I am working on a project in which I have to store atleast 100000 images and rich media like virtual tour, promotional videos. I would like to know the best practice to store it in order to retrieve it in show it on website. What should I store it as: Store the url into the database and store the actual image on the physical server. Store the image itself as a binary into the sql server itself and then convert it to runtime and show on the website. I need to know which way is the best and suitable way to do this task.
I'm building a new n-tier web application and I would like to know the performance differences between developing my tiers in one single assembly (each tier with its own namespace) or into different assemblies, one for each tier.
I'm planning to make an ASP.NET webserver that provides all kinds of functions, like an API. There will be quite alot functions that can easily be grouped (datasystem, userAccount, fileSystem, and so on). I can make multiple services (asmx files) into a single webserver, and let the clients connect to whatever service(s) they need. However, I'm not sure if it's a wise thing to do... Pack everything into 1 big service(1 asmx file), or split up into many smaller services? How about:
- performance/memory on the server (a client that connets with 1 or 6 services)
- Maximum connections (we will use a Windows XP Server edition computer)
There will be about ~30 computers using it. In a worst case scenario, they each computer could make use of 6 services at the same time, if I decide to split it up. A single client could make use of the fileSystem, account, dataSystem and several other things at the same time.
Which is the better alternative when allowing file uploads on a page (through a Gridview populated by a coded DataSet)? Store the image itself in the database or to store only the path name to the saved file in file system. If it matters, I do not expect to have more than a few dozen images stored in the database at any given time.
Here's a stored procedure I created that uses another stored procedure inside it to return a value:
[Code]....
Note the 'exec dirinfo.dbo.d_searchempbyname @TicketSubName' part. That stored procedure will return a single record. What I need is to get a single column from that recordset (in this case, the email address of the employee), and store that value in a variable.
I need to run a select statement on log in event and store the value of the select statement (returning one item) in a session variable.Do I have to u sqldatasource for this.. or is there someway I can run a single select statement and store the resulting value in a variable?
Context: In an ASP.NET application, I need the behavior of the ItemTemplate / EditItemTemplate that the DataList control provides. However, I only need one item in my control, which makes the DataList seems like overkill.
Question: Is there a control in ASP.NET made to store a single item that has the template content behavior of the DataList and DataGrid? Should I use a DataList for only one item?
I have many locations stored with addresses and longitude/latitude information in my database.I need a function or store procedure which returns only locations near by 10kms of given longitude/latitude parameters.It is not neccesary to be a sql query but I am fine with any other solution.
protected void Button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { String a = DropDownList1.SelectedItem.Value; String b = DropDownList3.SelectedItem.Value.PadLeft(3, '0'); String c = TextBox2.Text.PadLeft(5,'0').ToString(); String d = TextBox3.Text.ToString(); String digit = a+ b + c + d; try { myConn = new OdbcConnection("Driver={MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver};Server=localhost;Database=testcase;User=root;Password=root;Option=3;"); myConn.Open(); //** string sql = "select * from testcase.main where reg_no =?"; //** OdbcCommand cmd = new OdbcCommand(sql, myConn); //** cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("?", digit); MyReader = cmd.ExecuteReader(); //** while (MyReader.Read()) { String f = MyReader["pet_name"].ToString(); String g = MyReader["res_name"].ToString(); Label9.Visible = true; Label9.Text = f; Label10.Visible = true; Label10.Text = "VS"; //Label11.Visible = true; Label11.Text = g; } MyReader.Close(); } catch (Exception e1) { Response.Write(e1.ToString()); } finally { if (MyReader != null && !MyReader.IsClosed) { MyReader.Close(); } if (myConn != null && myConn.State == ConnectionState.Open) { myConn.Close(); } }
I want to add another sql query which is using two tables to fetch the data and than i want to display it in a dropdownlist after fetching data from database. How should i proceed?? Should i create a totally new connection? I tried many different ways like, creating new connection and new reader and entire try and catch block i coded again but on running the website i t was taking very long to load the contents. What i did i modified only this portion(below code) and used the entire try catch again but it dint work.
while (MyReader1.Read()) { String f = MyReader1["ret"].ToString(); DropDownList1.Items.Add(f); }
How to validate two textboxes at single button click using vb.net ?
it shows an error :
Protected Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click If TextBox1 = "06:00:01 PM" & TextBox2.Text = "02:00:01 PM" Then MsgBox "Submit" End If End Sub
Whatz wrong with my this code ? I wanna validate two checkbox using if statement ... on Button click
