View 1 RepliesI've got a repeater control containing comments. I'm about to implement ajax paging to it. I was opting to use the updatepanel (conditionally) for this thing, but I guess it's going to get kinda slow in production environment (Each time about 20 rows will be visible). I want to keep the repeater control since it contains other controls as well so I can't use a js (templates)/json approach.
View 1 RepliesURL... I'm trying this approach and I like it, It is what i was finding. customize the function he wrote to populate the pager control:
private void PopulatePager(int recordCount, int currentPage)
{
double dblPageCount = (double)((decimal)recordCount / Convert.ToDecimal(PageSize));
int pageCount = (int)Math.Ceiling(dblPageCount);
List<ListItem> pages = new List<ListItem>();
if (pageCount > 0)
[code]...
I need the paginator is something like that:<FIRST><BACK>1,2,3....N<NEXT><LAST>where first return back to first page, back go to previous current page, next for next page and last jump to last page.How can I do that?
we have been able to return information from the database and then select the relevant link and return that row of information from the SQL table. The next part I am working on is adding information to the database.
So far all the coding in done in a class file, we are using stored procedures and have used user controls to return the information from the database and then also to select the row of information for each news item from the database. The sql database connection information and executing the stored procedure information is all done in the class file. how to add the news items to the SQL table. Below is the code that is used to return each news item from the SQL Table, how i need to amend this to rather than display the information, save it to the database. Also having used stored procedures, would I need to create another stored procedure to to the INSERT INTO statement

I am working on How to display the News Updates on page inside Marquee as hyperlink and on click on the link i have to display the details of the selected News .
which approach i can display the particular section of the page ?
I have to disply the News from Database?
I'm trying to do this: Editing a variable length list, ASP.NET MVC 2-style
In the post he mentions that it could be done with less code using Html.EditorFor(), but that it would be more difficult because of the indexes. Well, that's exactly what I want to do, and I don't know where to begin.
Update 1: Instead of generating a GUID for each item in the collection, I'd like to generate incremental indexes starting with 0. Right now the field names look like "gifts[GUID].value"; I would like them to be "gifts[0].value","gifts1.value" etc. but I don't understand how the collection keeps track and generates these indices.
i want to make a add news page that when my user write his news(in up.aspx) then his news shown in news.aspx.
what am i going to do ? what is the best way for writing this page ?
link to Implement ASP.net mVC2 validation for my dropdown list boxes in my view?My Dropdown listbox in my view is something like this
<%: Html.DropDownListFor(model => model.SelectedStudent, new SelectList(Model.StudentIDs, "ID", "Name"),"Please select..", new { id="Student", style = "width:190px;" })%>

I have a table of products on my page, each product has zero or more colors, the colors are shown as a list beneath the product. After the colors I have a button to add a color. The button will do an ajax call with the parent product id to a controller which will return a JSON object with color information. My problem is where to store the product id in the DOM, should I put it in a hidden field and use jquery in the click event of the "add color" to get to it? What is the best way to do this?
EDIT: The page is initially rendered on the server so I don't want to use jquery to add the id's to the page.
I'm using a Datagrid with paginig, while clicking on select all , all items in all pages are selected but while the execution, I'ven't all the selected items.
How can you get the DataGrid.Items.Count to reflect the FULL record count instead of displaying the page size?
I'm using this property and all it's displaying is the page size of 10.
I have a situation where I want to show the selected records out of total records for a product of an employee
1) There is a checkbox list bind to <List> of objects from object datasource (For total items in list)
2) Now I want to check the selected items for a particular record in this list
3) For this purpose I have another list of <List> selected items returned by data access layer (For selected items for that employee )
4) How do I bind the selected objects with the total items list ?
5) In spaghetti coding model it was all too easy just by binding the checkbox list with a sql data source and running a for each on form load
I have the following Students class:

I need the 1 since it's a foreign key in another table. For the life of me, I can't get this to work like this.
Is it possible to set tab index value for list items of ASP.Net RadioButtonList control.
View 1 RepliesI'm designing my own custom control that contains a .NET dropdownlist. What I'm wondering is if it is possible to populate my dropdownlist with listitems placed in a placeholder? For example:
<asp:DropDownList ID="ddlFilter" runat="server" >
<asp:PlaceHolder ID="ListItemPlaceholder" runat="server"/>
</asp:DropDownList>
This doesn't work because the DropDownList control only allows ListItems as child controls. But, I want to do something similar to this so when the user includes my control on a page, they can do something like this:
<mytag:MyControl Mode="DropDown" runat="server">
<ListItemTemplate>
<asp:ListItem Text="C" Value="c"></asp:ListItem>
<asp:ListItem Text="E" Value="e"></asp:ListItem>
<asp:ListItem Text="B" Value="b"></asp:ListItem>
</ListItemTemplate>
</myTag:MyControl>
I know I can do this by dynamically adding the ListItems in the page code behind, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.
I am getting this error yet I know it to be untrue.This is the code:
ddlPartnerOrganisation.DataSource = agency.AgencyGetListOfEYDN();
string temp = ddlPartnerOrganisation.SelectedValue.ToString();
ddlPartnerOrganisation.DataValueField = "AgencyID"
;
ddlPartnerOrganisation.DataTextField = "AgencyName"
;
ddlPartnerOrganisation.DataBind();
Is it possible to select values from a List, where the items contain in a different list aswell?for example;
[Code]....
What I need are all the items from the first list "Items", where the string contains something from the second list "List".So I need something which returns the first 3 items (which contain the term "Item") from the first list.
I am building a SharePoint web part that creates a HTML list as below
<ul>
<li> ... </li>

Is there a way to enable paging on this list using Javascript because the list is too long?
I have a list of objects and I would like to create my own custom control that pages through the list using Jquery to make the Ajax calls to my pager methods. I've had some experience with Jquery but need a helping hand and I really don't want to use update panels etc. So the scenario is.....user clicks next, the C# method is called using Ajax, the code gets the relevant data and sends re-populates the UI with the next item in the list.
View 2 RepliesI have created a ASP.NET MVC 2 application in VS2010. It runs in integrated development server fine. But when i deploy that in IIS it gives me "The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory." error. Anybody know what went wrong?? There is no default.aspx page when creating a MVC2 project in VS2010. is that the problem? I can assure the routes are configured correctly in global.aspx.

View 1 RepliesI got a list of customers I thought I would list in a gridview or a repeater with customer html, it gone have paging. I'm gone have a checkbox for each customer in the list. Do you guys have any suggestions on how I should do to keep the checkbox value when I go to page 2-3-4 ect in the paging. I'm thinking a session to store the id of the checked customers. View 1 Repliesbefore I started working with LinQ I used Objectdatasources to bind a GridView.
To get a label like "item 20 - 30 from 54 items" I used a dataview like this:
Dim dv
As Data.DataView = ObjectDataSource.Select()
Dim count
As
Integer = dv.Count()
Dim first
As
Integer = 1 + (Grid_View.PageSize * Grid_View.PageIndex)
Dim last
As
Integer = first + Grid_View.PageSize - 1
If last > count
Then
last = count
End
If
How can I do this if I bind my GridView with a LinqDataSource?
I am trying to get a simple multi-page program to run correctly. I have everything set up, except for the "remove" function. When I try to remove an item from the list box nothing happens. Insted of trying to explain it I will show you the code...

ave a webpage that maintains a list of items. Each item is displayed as a simple short text string and has a int/string data value associated with it. At the moment I am displaying the list as a common separated string. I can generate the present string very simply from the result of a linq query:
string displayString="";
foreach (var i in linqResult) displayString = displayString + ", " + i.Name;
displayString = displayString.SubString(2);
However, I want to modify the page so that the user can remove any item (name) from the displayed list
