I have a DropDownList in my Gridview. How do I populate this DropDownList which is the EditItem Template?

I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I googled and couldnt find any article on binding DropDownList in Gridview without the SqlDataSource.
Using dropdown in gridview and bind the values in dropdown then based on dropdown display the value in another column.

No you cannot add a third parameter in the Dictionary. It contain Key Value pair data.But if you want to add third parameter then simply use DataTable and add these in the DataTable row.Name of Builder , Title Of Buidler , Builder ID
So how to acheive that task ? so far i did like this :

Girdview has dropdownlist TemplateField called ddlSate, how to bind state field value in sql table to selected value of ddlState dropdownlist control? For example the sql table has AL value for state field, (Note by default ddlState lists all states options with sqldatasource), how AL is selected in ddlState when binding to ddlState?

I bind the 7 column name in one dropdownlist.
Now the problem is,how do I extract the data value in a dropdownlist?
For example,

when I click the subject_name,I want it to appear in a gridview

I have a Gridview and two link button in that GridView , one link button click is to add edit row ( Edit ), one link button click is to select row ( Select ). i create example using Northwind database so i create a new website and add new ADO.Net Entity Data Model (.edmx) called Northwind.edmx and i add Categories and Products table inside this (.edmx) file
