CSS File Not Loaded When Adding HttpModule To Web.config?
Nov 25, 2010
i am making a Website with c# and ASP.NET 3.5, i just made an HttpModule to handle the NHibernate Session Life (Open and close).
I added it to the web.config and everything works fine. (all the query, code, etc working fine) except that CSS file of my masterpage is not loading !!
I have an asp.net 4.0 site. I have CAS turned on for legacy support. But in CAS, is there a way to prevent a runtime loaded assembly from accessing the web.config file? I don't see a permission set that denies access to configuration information.
We are getting this error message when we try to click the link in the menu to go to Report Server:
Source Error: Line 31: <siteMapNode title="Reports" description="Reports"> Line 32: Line 33: <siteMapNode url="https://ffxsqldgc01.ffx.co.fairfax.va.us/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx?ItemPath=%2fDPZ&ViewMode=List" title="View Reports" description="Click here to view the reports" /> Line 34: </siteMapNode> Line 35:
I tried to add after the &, as it was suggested on one of the forum but it did not work. Any other ideas.
I could use late events such as EndRequest and put inside Response.Write but this way whatever I'm adding would come after the /html tag and the HTML won't be well formed.
I created a http Module following this tutorial. The module just displays a simple "Hello from OnBeginRequest in custom module.".I've referenced it in web.config and then, to satisfy my scenario (at work we need to see a module in action for all websites on a server, with the minimal configuration) I installed the module in the GAC, then I edited the "global" web.config in order tomake the module work for all the my web applications
I am adding a reference of class library in web service in VS2008 and it is not copying the .config file from class library to web service. I have checked the property "Copy to output directory" of .config file and its value is "Copy Always".
I've tried to write my own HttpModule (IHttpModule) that adds a Header like that:
public class MyModule: IHttpModule { public void Init(HttpApplication c) { c.BeginRequest += delegate{c.Response.AddHeader("MyHeader", "MyValue");}; } public void Dispose(){} }
the purpose of this HttpModule? It's showing up on my HttpModuleCollection list, but I don't know what's it's for.System.ServiceModel.Activation.HttpModule
I'm preparing to deploy a ASP.NET web application. The target server has already a previous version of my web application with parameters specified on the web.config file.
In the new version of this web application, the web.config file contains new sections I would like they appear into the target web.config file on the server.
However I can't find the way to merge the new web.config sections into the existing web.config file ?
Does I have to do it programmatically, or is there a tool to merge the both files during installation ? (I'm using Web Setup Project).
How can I retrieve file information (size of file) before it is uploaded to the webserver?
I would like to create a multi file upload. I have it working in JQuery but I would like to know the size of the files to set a limition by summing up the total the file sizes together.
Currently, I work on an ASP.NET project which is hosted under version control and is used on several developer machines, tester machine and production environment.
In three cases, configuration (Web.config) may be different. For example, developer and tester environments use testing SQL Server, whereas in production environment, another SQL Server is accessed, so the connection string is different in those cases.
We want to keep three versions of Web.config in subversion. But modifying each of three files every time we need to add, remove or change a common setting is annoying: it would be nice to have a common, master Web.config, which will be inherited by each of the three Web.config files.
How to set up an ASP.NET project which will use a master configuration file and different slave configuration files on different machines, thus sharing the same project/source code/configuration files in subversion?
When I open my ASP.NET site in IIS and try to open the .NET Trust Levels, I get an error message:
.NET Trust Levels There was an error while performing this operation.
Details: Filename: ?C:inetpubwwwrootmyappweb.config Line number: 445
Error: This configuration section cannot be used at this path. This happens when the section is locked at a parent level. Locking is either by default (overrideModeDefault="Deny"),or set explicitly by a location tag with overrideMode="Deny" or the legacy allowOverride="false".
I've checked a few places, but I haven't found anything that seems like it would be locking that setting. Is there a systematic way of determining where that setting is locked?
I have many Connection strings in my web.config file. I also have a "dataConfiguration" setting in the same file which specifies what database my app connects to.
How do I read the "defaultDatabase" setting / section from the, see below xml file. <configuration>
I am developing web applicaiton. I want to read web.config in App.config file. I have appSettings and connectionStrings in web.config. How to read that?
Is it possible to have separate config files for specific sections of the web.config? Specifically I'd like to move IIS 7's rewrite section out of the web.config and into it's own config file.
where external files / images are being loaded from. By this I mean that I'm aware that external JS files / Images are cached on the first load of a page. What I'd like to have is a tool that confirms to me that on subsequent requests these files are in fact being loaded from the users cache rather than downloading the file again.
i just came up with the reading, Writing and adding values dynamically in web.Config in asp.net. Have many ideas in mind, but i just wana know what is the best way of adding values in web config dynamically.
1 - How do I add a new e-mail in there set by textboxes in the webform ?
2 - How do I differentiate which one I want to gather at the time ? could you give me a simple C# example on how to get the configs in one of the two ?
When a user visits our site they see a coverflow. They are not logged in so they cant see any images. Once they log in they should be able to see images in the coverflow but they cant because the flash object is being cached.
A user can get around this problem by setting the IE settings to (check for newer versions of stored pages every time they visit a site) however we need a way to force the browser to refresh the flash object once they are logged in, without telling all of our users to change the settings in their browser.
Is this possible?
[code]....
You can see my inline c# script to generate random numbers but that doesnt seem to refresh the object.
i have the following piece of code. my problem is that when the page is loaded, my .wav file isnt being played. even when the page loads and i press play is still doesnt work. please can someone see where i am going wrong?
