Changing Folder Path To Image So That It Can Be Used In A Aspx Page?
Jan 17, 2010
I have the following filepath
D:\_My_Project\Projects\My\MyWebApplication\UserImages\10b1abd6-0d3c-4fb0-928a-60cbf9b7a5d7\Images\
and I was wondering if there are any build in methods in the .net framework that would give me something like this
~/UserImages/10b1abd6-0d3c-4fb0-928a-60cbf9b7a5d7/Images/

I have a main_menu.ascx web control placed in my root and contains my website navigation menu with NavigationURL to the pages
I have my root files and I included the ascx file there Until here, I have no issue Now!
I have sub folders in my root and I want to include same ascx file because I don't want more than one main_menu file!
But the problem here is with the NavigationURL because it will be different when the aspx file is in sub folder
How can make sure my NavigationURL is referring to the correct path whether aspx in root or in sub folder?

I can do everthing perfectly fine, but wat i wan to do is, if the user did not select any file to upload, which means they do not wan to put a profile pic for that album, i wan to take the "noimage.gif" from the folder and set it to the FileUpload path, because i wanted to store that image into database, therefore i need to retrieve that image first and then convert it into bitmap and then to bytes with a method im using now

I am building a Web Forms application, it involves a database, so I have some sort of login.
I have put all the webforms to do with Account Login and Update into their own separate folder. The folder is called { Account } in the application root.
My Site.Master is also at the application root, along with other files (e.g. Default.aspx .. etc).
This image file path breaks when I view the pages inside the Account Folder:
[Code]....
I understand why it is happening, but I can't figure out how to avoid this problem, unless I put the Master page along with all the other files into a folder too.

I have a site with 2 web servers and NLB (Windows Server 2008 and IIS 7). I'm trying to move the site to NAS storage accessed via a UNC path.
I have copied the site files to the NAS and set all permissions on the NAS. The only change I'm making in IIS is to the sites path. I can change the path back to local storage on the web server and there is no error. I switch the path to the UNC path and I get the error.
When set to the UNC path, within IIS Manager on each web server I can successfully browse to HTML files, but I get a 404 browsing to ASPX files. I've narrowed the error down to something going on when the page directive is in the aspx file. That is, when the aspx file has only html, the page will load fine. When I add the page directive to the aspx file I get the 404:
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Test.aspx.cs" Inherits="GPS.Custom.Test" %>
I don't see anything in the code behind that could possible cause 404, and the site files match exactly between those on the web server and those on the NAS.

I have a custom implementation of Application_PreRequestHandlerExecute which is applying a deflate/gzip filter to the response. However, on IIS7, this is failing on my "script generator" pages. These aspx pages take in Query String values and return a custom bit of script, changing the response type to text/javascript. I think it is failing because of the way iis7 uses mime types, but I'm unsure how to fix it short of turning all compressio off.

I refer this master page in two forms. One of those form is oresent in the path :
Project>>Forms>>Form1.aspx and the other one is : Project>>Forms>>NewFolder>>Form2.aspx
Now for Form2.aspx the image is not getting loaded.
I tried the image path with "~Images/bg_main_menu.png". But it is not working.

I have many static images under a directory in my site structure, and I'm not concerned with hotlinking or copy-protecting the images. For a myriad of reasons, what I need to do is not show the image path on the site (or show a fake one).
Is there any way to do this without resorting to an http handler or a worker asp.net page?

I Used AsyncFileUpload(one of Ajac Control Toolkit Controls) to Uploading User's Image. this works well. But i want to change the image url of an image contorl to uploaded image url. how can i perform that? I put Image control in a Update Panel:
[Code]....
in C# code I wrote these:
[Code]....
But it does not work. Image is like Previous. Note that ImageOperations.ResizeFromStream() method resizes and saves the image to a specefic folder. actually I should trigger a Postback to Update the Update Panel but How to do that. I usedUpdatePanelNew.Update(); but it does not work!

I have a 'classic' ASP.NET app (.NET 3.5) with a pretty standard runat="server" style form with server-side controls and an 'Execute' asp:button. In the code-behind, the executeButton_click handler processes some of the other controls, runs a report, and drops the result into an asp:label. So the effect of pressing the Execute button is that the entire page reloads with the report inserted into the label.
I need to change this so that when the Execute button is pressed, the report pops up in a new window with a different layout (ie without the controls and form). If I was doing this in an MVC framework I would just change the view template in the 'execute' action, so the analogue for ASP.NET would be change the code in front, ie the .aspx file that gets used, from the code-behind class.
Is this possible? I know the link between the .aspx and the .aspx.cs isn't extremely tight as it is possible to reuse a code-behind class in multiple .aspx files. So can I set the .aspx file to render from the code-behind?

I have a folder with png images that are not shared or public (the folder is outside my application folder). Now I want my users to be able to view thoose images only if they are logged in (different users, different images). All images have a name that correspond to the users id. My idea is to stream thoose images into the asp:Image control, is that possible? How do I do that? Other (better) solutions?

I am generating an aspx page which then I need to convert to png and store it somewhere. A similiar situation with mine was asked before here but got still no response. I tried also the code that the Swapnil Fegade has asked but the code is looping continually making request to loading page and no conversion is actually being done.I found some solutions on the web also but they require WebBrowser control which i understood can be used in windows form but i am building a web project.

Scenario is I have a application relative url like "~/path/to/page.aspx?query=string". I need to programatically create a web request to that page and currently using WebRequest.Create. The problem is WebRequest.Create requires a fully qualified url including the protocol/domain/port etc.I have access to the current Request.Url object but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to get just the base url keeping the protocol (HTTP vs HTTPS) as well as any port numbers as well as the path to the applicationI mean all the info there, so if need be I could just take all the parts and combine them but it seems like it might be error prone and it would be great to have something built-in that's well tested to do the job. Page.ResolveUrl gets me almost there, but it's missing the protocol and the domain/port.

I have several ASP.NET web projects and their Output folder are set to "C:Builds[ProjectName]bin" (instead of the default "bin" folder). This makes "F5" Debugging not working because the ASP.NET Development Server expects the "bin" folder under the project folder.
I then changed to use Local IIS Web server (http://localhost/webproject1") and manually updated the vdir physical path to my custom output path. However the VS2010 will not load the csproj because it detects the url is already mapped to a different folder location.
I know I probably shouldn't change the Output folder. But wondering if there is an easy way to workaround this? The goal is to make "F5" debugging work with custom build Output folders.
