Configuration :: 404 Error On Aspx Page When Moved To NAS (UNC Path)?

I have a site with 2 web servers and NLB (Windows Server 2008 and IIS 7). I'm trying to move the site to NAS storage accessed via a UNC path.
I have copied the site files to the NAS and set all permissions on the NAS. The only change I'm making in IIS is to the sites path. I can change the path back to local storage on the web server and there is no error. I switch the path to the UNC path and I get the error.
When set to the UNC path, within IIS Manager on each web server I can successfully browse to HTML files, but I get a 404 browsing to ASPX files. I've narrowed the error down to something going on when the page directive is in the aspx file. That is, when the aspx file has only html, the page will load fine. When I add the page directive to the aspx file I get the 404:
I don't see anything in the code behind that could possible cause 404, and the site files match exactly between those on the web server and those on the NAS.
I created an application that basically takes the values from a bunch of fields on the page and adds the data to a SQL database table when I click the 'submit' button. However, I created the file directly under the website path, and I created it while it was like that and I tested it without any user authentication going on.
Now, I'd moved it into the ~/Account/etc/... path, because I only want it to be used by authenticated users, and it loads just fine, but when I click the 'submit' button as I used too, it doesn't seem to be loading the info in the database anymore. Why would that happen? do I need to enable SQL to work with the authentication as well?

I have a web site that uses urlmappings in IIS 6. We recently upgraded to IIS 7 and now the mappings no longer work. I remember in IIS 6 I had to turn off Verify that file exists in the mapping section, and in IIS 7 I set the resource types to unspecified, but I can't get this working. What am I missing?
I am trying to deploy my MVC application to IIS 7.5. According to the ASP.Net MVC 2 in Action book (pg 82) all i have to do is copy the bin, content, global, scripts, views, and web.config folders and files. However, when I try to go to the app all the image, scripts, and stylesheet links are broken. If I try to "fix" the links for example "../../Content/myImage.jpg" to "/Content/ccac_logo.jpg" the images will work in IIS but not in the local development server (that comes with VS). In addition, I cant get the script files (like jquery-1.4.1.js) to work at all when served in IIS. What am I missing?
My company has a server running Windows 2003, IIS 6.0, Web Deployment tool 1.1. I also have a development machine running Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I can't get the Publish command to work (gives me "can't contact MSDEPLOYAGENTSERVICE" even though I know it's running), so a couple days ago I built a publish package, copied it over, and ran it, which worked.oday I thought WebDeploy was having problems (turned out the problem was between the keyboard and the chair) so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it from the WPI. Now when I try to run the package I get

i have created my website in vs 2008 using the localhost, now i want to upload it to my uni server. i have transferred all the files to the server but am getting this error. I have a custom ASP.NET application that I utilize for several clients that I host. Each client has a separate domain and the application is normally a child application under the root domain [URL]. The application files are the same (aspx, ascx, style sheets, images, etc.). The only thing different is the web.config file for each client. As development of the application continues to evolve, I have to update the application for each directory and this obviously becoming tedious. I am trying to come up with a method keep the application up to date. My first though is placing the application into a single physical path and creating multiple applications pointing to that path (the problem with this method is I can't have different web.config files). I am curious as to what solution others are using in this scenario...
When I press start on my VS2010/Silverlight/C# project, it opens a new instance of the included webserver and opens my browser window so I can test the application. Unfortunately something has happened and I am not sure what it was.. The browser window now opens the starting page with a local machine path (C:...page.aspx) rather than the normal webserver path through http (http://localhost:33592/page.aspx). It is a Silverlight Navigation project using c#/asp.net code behind.
I have recently moved my project to VS2005 and I have trouble running all pages that have code behind. I set up a DEV sub domain so I could start with one page and work out what is going on.
I have got the page working locally but it won't work when I upload the page, dll and associated files to the web server (hosted for me).
The error seems simple enough, it's a parser error saying it can't find the code behind file (aspx.vb), but I can't for the life of me work out why, especially when it works locally.

I've just setup a new site on my IIS6 and I'm experiencing the following problem:
I can run normal HTML pages, but no .aspx files. If I call the aspx page directly I get a 404 - file not found - error message. This only happens with .aspx files.
All the examples and websites i have looked at redirect a user to the error.aspx page when an error occurs. How do you just display a friendly error message on the page the user is viewing saying something like "Sorry unable to do whatever" I've tried using a try catch block on my class that executes a stored procedure and put another try catch on the controller, but this does not work and i still get the default error message (System.InvalidOperationException was unhandled by user code) My code is below:

Scenario is I have a application relative url like "~/path/to/page.aspx?query=string". I need to programatically create a web request to that page and currently using WebRequest.Create. The problem is WebRequest.Create requires a fully qualified url including the protocol/domain/port etc.I have access to the current Request.Url object but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to get just the base url keeping the protocol (HTTP vs HTTPS) as well as any port numbers as well as the path to the applicationI mean all the info there, so if need be I could just take all the parts and combine them but it seems like it might be error prone and it would be great to have something built-in that's well tested to do the job. Page.ResolveUrl gets me almost there, but it's missing the protocol and the domain/port.
I want my site visitors to be able to navigate to a page without having to type the .aspx extension. For example, if I have a page file named info.aspx I want site visitors to be able to go to that page with a URL like this: www.mysite.com/info without the aspx extension. Is there a way to do this in the web.config file?
i am trying to ste my Home Page other than Defualt.aspx in IIS but im getting a message saying This is a marker file generated by the precompilation tool, and should not be deleted! i do my precompilation of web project using aspnet_compiler -nologo -f -v i do not want to use Default.aspx and route it to the Home Pgae. it works in Visual STudio but when i deploy it to IIS it gives me this message.
