Conditionally Set The Content Inside The Facebox Modal?
Jun 29, 2010
I am working on a form where I need to conditionally set the content inside the facebox modal. I have created a sample code below where on click of each link I need to open a facebox modal(which is getting opened). Now in this modal I am having a textbox. I want the textbox to be filled automatically with the value equals to the text of anchor which opened the modal i.e On clicking the first hyperlink the textbox should be filled with "Field1" and on clicking the second the textbox should have "Field2" value. Here is the sample code:
I am trying to get a modal popup inside a modal popup?, also i want to fire the modal popup on a condition in a text change event of a textbox?...is this possible and can anyone give me directon on this
AM having a datalist with fields repeating based on some conditions say some textbox to enter Name ,DOB,Occupation, cell no,etc..and we have a button "Accompanying Person" .When this clicked i have to show same controls and enter details of accompanying persons like name, cell no etc...
SO same controls i have to show multiple times...but based on member /accompanying person i am hiding id field..but required field validator showing when the id is hidden..since this id is inside datalist and id textbox will be different how to hide this required field validator
How to redirect a page to a particular website link( links are saved in database) using database on button click, for particular DropDown value i.e, External. If dropdown value is "external", then on clicking button page should redirect to particular website link related to the above drop down. This link can differ in DB but DropDown value is same for all users i.e "External"..(these website links are saved in database, I have to fetch these links from database.
How do I conditionally trigger a full page postback from a link button inside of an update panel?
I have a custom control that contains its own updatepanel with a link button nested inside of it. When the link button is pressed I want its event handler to have the option of either letting the control update as normal or doing a full postback on the page.
Here is the control hierarchy:
Page Custom Control UpdatePanel LinkButton
Event handler Pseudo code:
LinkButton Click Handler Begin If is a partial post back AND a full postback is needed Page.DoFullPostback End If End Handler
Note: I aways need the partial postback to happen. I was considering injecting a __DoPostback in the controls markup but this seems hacky to me.
I have created a gridview and added a headertemplate field inside templatefield. Inside header template field I have added a button and a condirmbutton extender. confirmbutton extender uses modelpopup with ok cancel. This works fine but with one problem. I want this popup to open on button click only if user has checked atleast one checkbox from gridview. So far it shows this modelpopup everytime even user hasn't checked anything.
I have a Label Button that needs to be clicked and then a modal popup needs to pop up - that's easy.
However, Labels within the modal popup needs to be dynamic by having their .Text property set to a value that comes from a postback, which fetches the data from the database or have the value set from the code-behind.
I am having trouble closing jQuery Facebox from code behind. I am inserting a new record through FaceBox, on successful insertion the FaceBox needs to be closed. How can i achieve this?
Using Facebox with .NET (Web Forms) is painful--this primarily HTML site was designed by someone else. I may have IIS (7.5) issues as well. This Facebox pop-up is in a separate file, login.html, that is called from index.html:
and after it's validated (this is working), it posts to login.aspx (login.html):
[code]....
The form posts. I can debug it in Visual Studio in the Page_Load method of login.aspx. The last line of the Page_Load method is:
Response.Redirect("welcomepage.html");
But, the Facebox pop-up remains. Firebug shows the post, It hits the Page_Load method of login.aspx, and the Facebox pop-up doesn't go anywhere. BUT, Firebug shows welcomepage.html rendered twice in the Response tab of the XHR (huh? why XHR?) request. I thought $.post did a regular postback. And why isn't my browser actually redirecting.
Attempted Fix
If I change the form in login.html to action='login.aspx', I get a 405.0 error method not allowed (but, it's trying to post to index.html, HUH?). And I can't figure out how to fix this in IIS 7.5 on Windows 7. I get this error in Visual Studio and when deploying locally to IIS. I had read it may have to do with script mapping, handlers, or the fact that I'm posting from an but I can't find a sufficient fix.
I'm using a facebox to display a form inside a lightbox, nothing too exciting (just a couple of datepickers, some textboxes and a checkbox). However, I'm having issues with the postbacks, whenever I post back from the facebox it adds a ',' to the start of the input (so "rabbit" becomes ",rabbit") Now, I saw that there was the same issue with the modalpopup extender from the ajaxcontroltoolkit, so I assume it's a common issue.
Can anyone either explain why this is happening, or tell me how to fix it? provide a decent way of fixing this?
See attached answer for a correct solution (I fixed this eventually but didn't want to ruin the bounty question so left the answer until afterwards).
I'm using facebox plugin to display iframe link. I want to change the style of my close button. I want to show it on Top . I want to make facebox draggable is it possible to do.
I was trying to create a popup logon form for a site I'm working on so I decided to give facebox a try. The logon pops up ok, but the submit button and required validators are not firing. This is within the master page and is contained with a Progress Panel.
The examples I have seen all show a Facebox by clicking on an anchor. Is it possible to use a button instead? I am modifying an asp.net page that dynamically generates asp:button controls, and would like to not have to replace them with anchors.
Currently I have a project where I have a form in ASP.NET that needs a look up service. For example the input below wants a Customer ID, but maybe the user only knows the customers by name.
I'd like to use jQuery UI's modal dialog to append an image to the right of this input, which fires dialog("open") containing the necessary code to look up a customer by name, returning the ID back to the form input upon closing the dialog. This is extremely similar functionality to the Datepicker's icon trigger found here: http://jqueryui.com/demos/datepicker/#icon-trigger .Right now, I have this javascript:
I need to be able to pass the ID of the input element into jQuery, probably using the $(this) selector somehow. I'd like to be able to re-use the same code for multiple elements on the same form that require the customer ID look up. I also don't know how to create this kind of functionality inside the ASP.NET environment because it doesn't fundamentally allow more than one form inside one .aspx page.
I am using a modal popup which works fine, my modal pop up has a fixed size, in case the content is longer it doesn't show up or gets cut after the height of Modal pop up. want to add a CSS property to the body of popup so that incase of long content a scroll bar should show inside the popup.
I have a modal popup extender which is triggered by gridview onRowCommand. The gridview and the modal popup extender is in different updatePanel. The panel which assigned to PopupControlID of the mpe contains a textbox and a button. This button will triggered a page method web service that will return a value to be assigned to the textbox. My problem is when I click the button, after partial post back, the mpe disapper (hide). I tried everything to make it show. Below is my code.
function Completed(result) { //get the target textbox inside the mpe var txt = '<%= txtContractNo.ClientID %>'; var txtRef = document.getElementById(txt); txtRef.value = result; var mpeId = '<%= mpeContract.ClientID %>'; $find(mpeId).show(); }
I have a requirement where in i have to create a common pop up extender for all the user controls. How can i achieve this by using ajax modal pop up extender? Please help out with the following questions i have.Is it possible to bring user control inside a ajax modal pop up extender.?If yes, Is it a best practice? How can we build a common Ajax Modal Pop Up extender so that it can be re used for all the user controls?Consequences we face while using user control inside ajax modal pop up ?Is there any better approach for having user control inside modal pop up.?
I have a gridview that appears in a modal popup that is generated dynamically and is bound to a dynamically generated SqlDataSource.
I did this to hopefully take advantage of the gridview's automatic editing capabilities.
My problem is that when the edit button is clicked the modalpopup closes due to a full postback in spite of the fact that my gridview is in an update panel...
I looked at solutions here and here but neither fixed the problem. I've also tried every combination under the sun regarding the positioning of the ModalPopupExtender in relation to the update panel etc, and have tried changing UpdateMode to conditional as well.
I m trying to open up a modal pop up dialog with a gridview inside. The problem is there is no pop up opens when i click the button. Here is the code below.Any help would be great.
In the problem code, there is a modal popup that is shown using .Show, and that part works fine. A textbox in the popup needs to display text, but I can't get that part to work.
I want that when I click on "button 1", I automatically jump to certain <div> tag (at the bottom of Modal pop up) which is related to "button 1" similarly, when I click on "button 2", I automatically jump to certain <div> tag (at the bottom of Modal pop up) which is related to "button 2"...
