Configuration :: Compilation Error Not Shown On Browser (IE)?
Mar 24, 2010I have a web site. if I have a syntax error (i.e. intx i = 1;) on a .cs file in the app code folder, I can see the compilation errror with a line number on the IE browser as usual. But if I have that syntax error on a aspx.cs file, I only see a blank screen.
Note: for other reasons, I could not use Visual Studio to do compliation.

Cannot Access System.Web.Compilation
Jan 19, 2011I am attempting to build my first custom ExpressionBuilder and have created a new C# Class Library in my visual studio 2010 solution.
From the very beginning, I am doomed. I cannot seem to gain access to classes I need to accomplish, such as:
(a) using System.Web.Compilation -- the ".Compilation" is errored/underlined.
(b) using System.Web.UI -- the ".UI" is errored/underlined.
(c) using System.Web.SessionState -- the ".SessionState" is underlined.
Prior to any of these lines of code, I have a "using System.Web" which is accepted.
Following these errored lines, I try to declare the "[ExpressionPrefix("xxxxxxx")] and the public partial class xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx : ExpressionBuilder -- and both "ExpressionPrefix" and "ExpressionBuilder" are errored, as well (I'm assuming because I cannot get the correct references in my "using" statements).

Aug 25, 2010I have created an application which runs fine in VS2010.Now i am trying to host that application using inetmgr.When i try to browse the page from inetmgr content view then i get the "Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified".If i browse the page from VS i am able to do it.I am not able to host the app. may be the reason is the above stated error.

When I run directly as
getAddress("some address);
It works perfectly, but when I run as
string txtProperty.Text = getAddress("some address);
It giving me following error
Cannot implicitly convert type 'void' to 'string' at System.Web.Compilation.AssemblyBuilder.Compile()
It seems this not the correct way to call this?

Mar 21, 2010I'm having a spot of bother deploying my database to my host using the Publishing Wizard. I'm using the .sql file generated along with RunSQL.aspx as discussed in this blog by Scott Guthrie.
The issue I am having is that the permission is set to dbo but this seems to be causing an issue with the hosted database as in I get the following error when I run RunSQL.aspx.

Sep 3, 2010I have recently developed a new vs2010 web application that I would like to add to my web site.
The existing website was developed using vs2008. The web site is hosted on a windows 2008 server running iis 7. My new web application sits below my main website i.e. mywebite mywebsite/mynewwebsite
I have set the application pools for the mynewwebsite to be asp.net v4.0, leaving the application pools for mywebsite as .net v2.0 If I try and open my new web application i.e. [URL] then I get 500. Internal server error. I assume that it is iis that is unhappy here. Do I have to rebuild the whole of my web site to be vs2010 using asp.net v4.0. If I do should I use ASP.Net v4.0 or ASP.net v4.0 Classic for my application pools, and should I have a separate and distinct application pool for each of my web applications ( I have 4 of these) Just to clarify my clients can log on the web site as
