Configuration :: How To Capture Server Side Image Screen

Aug 4, 2010

My code runs smoothly and captures the image when I'm running it in localhost, but when if I published or deployed it in our web server then access it tru its url, it doesn't work or i can't capture the image.

Here's my code:

Take A Screen Capture Of A Particular Area Of The Screen?

Mar 17, 2010

Is it possible to take a screen capture of a particular area of a web-page from the web-page's own ASP.NET code?

I need to display 6 images that are stacked on top of one another using CSS, and I'd like to offer the user the ability to right-click save-as if possible by stacking the screen capture on top top of the original image stack.

Capture The Markdown From A WMD - Editor Server Side In Website?

Jan 17, 2010

I'm using an asp:TextBox as the wmd-input. As the user clicks the submit button I wan't to capture the markdown at server side as the Text property of my asp:TextBox control. However, instead of the expected markdown, my TextBox at server-side contains the HTML formatted version of the markdown: <h1>testing</h1>

How do I get the pure markdown? PS: At client side I see markdown on the asp:TextBox. It's not clear for me when it's getting converted to HTML before post-back.

Display An On-screen Message Server Side?

Oct 15, 2010

What is a good way to display the message "your data has been saved" on screen (server side, not javascript) when a user clicks the Update button in a FormView control? I want the message to have a similar look and feel to the error message that displays when validation fails (only in this case, the message will convey that data successfully saved to the database).

How To Capture A Screen Shot From A Webapplication

May 26, 2010

In Java we can do it as follows:

import java.awt.Dimension;
import java.awt.Rectangle;
import java.awt.Robot;
import java.awt.Toolkit;
import java.awt.image.BufferedImage;
import javax.imageio.ImageIO;
import java.io.File;
...
public void captureScreen(String fileName) throws Exception {
Dimension screenSize = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();
Rectangle screenRectangle = new Rectangle(screenSize);
Robot robot = new Robot();
BufferedImage image = robot.createScreenCapture(screenRectangle);
ImageIO.write(image, "png", new File(fileName));
}

How do we do this in .NET from a webapplication? Capturing the client's screen and sending it to the server all from within the application.

Configuration :: Image Display / Move It To Live Server, It comes Up With An Empty Image Box?

Nov 8, 2010

I have a routine to display an image on an aspx page. The url for the image uses imagerender.aspx . This is simply an empty page with code behind:

myClass mysub = new Myclass(); // create class
Stream strm = mysub.DisplayImage(UserID); // call method to load bytes from db
byte[] buffer = new byte[2048];
int byteSeq = strm.Read(buffer, 0, 2048);
while (byteSeq > 0)
{
Context.Response.OutputStream.Write(buffer, 0, byteSeq);
byteSeq = strm.Read(buffer, 0, 2048);
}

Ok, this work fine when testing on my local machine, but when I move it to the live server, it comes up with an empty image box!

It looks like there must be a problem with security, maybe with ISS.

Does anyone know what changes I can make to fix this problem or what setting to change in IIS 7?

Change Server Side Use To HTML Image Tag Only

Oct 4, 2010

I am trying to wire some fancy Javascript (PopBox) to an ImageButton control and I am getting a very strange run-time (Compilation) error.

<asp:imagebutton id="imgBtnPicture" runat="server"
class="PopBoxImageSmall"
pbshowcaption="true"
title="Click to magnify/shrink"
onclick="Pop(this,50,'PopBoxImageLarge');"
width="90%">
</asp:imagebutton>

I've looked at replacing the ImageButton web control with a simpler HTML img tag (which is what the PopBox documentation suggests). Yet, I don't know how to populate an <img> tag from the CodeBehind file. Here is a typical statement which sets the .SRC property from an ASP.Net dataset row:

Me.imgBtnPicture.Src = theRow.Item("ImageURL")

I've tried this as an alternative:

<img alt="" src=""
id="imgPicture" runat="server"class="PopBoxImageSmall" title="Click to magnify/shrink"
onclick="Pop(this,50,'PopBoxImageLarge');" width="90%"
/>

Visual Studio 2008 does not complain about this declaration above but in the codebehind file, how would I address this so I could populate the .Src attribute.

Intellisense, cannot even "see" this
Me.imgPicture.src = theUrl 'this won't compile...

I added this at the top of the codebehind but seemed to have no effect:

Imports System.Web.UI.HtmlControls

Configuration :: Word Automation On Server Side?

Dec 28, 2010

I created a web application in which I am generating a ms-word document using Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word dll. The application is running fine in the visual studio but when I tried to run on IIS 5.0 through virtual directory then its giving the following error -

Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {000209FF-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80070005.

In my application I have taken reference of Microsoft Word 12.0 Object Library, but its coming as Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word dll, this interop dll is just a wrapper of the actual word COM dll. But I have to register the actual word COM dll. so my problem is to find -

1) The path of the original word dll(COM)

2) How to register this dll, either using regsvr32 or to register on IIS.

Configuration :: Compile Class To Dll Invoking Vbc Server Side?

Mar 28, 2010

Tools: MS Visual Studio 2008

Language: ASP.NET VB (Visual Basic)
.NET Framework: 3.5
Host: Winhost.com basic hosting

I have a class that is normally compiled into a .dll prior to distribution and used as a component library.

IE: vbc /t:library /out:xyz.dll xyz.vb
(User would download then put the .dll in the bin directory and use
Imports xyz
Dim obj As New xyz
ojb.Foo)

There is a need to write a line of content to the class file specific to the user prior to compile.

Is this possible via server side?

I believe my short question would be, can I call vbc.exe from a site hosted with winhost.com and compile a class.vb file through vbc.exe on the server? And how?

I have been able to reach IE via ASP.NET from my account there so I think it may be possible.

Configuration :: Server-side Code Be Displayed In Browser?

Nov 29, 2010

I'm running an ASP.NET ver 4.0 website on Windows Server 2003. Everything was working fine, until I uploaded a new version of the site tonight.I have a new version of the website on my local box, with so many changes that I decided to remove all the existing files on the live site, with the exception of the web.config.Then I uploaded all new files (except the local version of my web.config) from my local box to the live site.

Afterward, when I browsed to the site and tried to use the standard Account/Login.aspx page, all my server code in the code-behind file was displayed in the browser!What would cause this? It *seems* like that would be a server-configured issue, but after I rolled the website back to the old files, everything worked again!

Web Forms :: How To Use Server Side Validation To Ensure Image Field Is Not Null

Aug 20, 2010

I'm having trouble accomplishing the above. Below is all the mark up and code. I'm not getting error messages, but the validate image function is not working (fileupload portion is working ok).

In my attempt below---not sure if it's the simplest or best validation approach anyway---the "UserId" parameter appears during rendering to be empty---but in most methods I have it successfully containing or referring to the logged-in user's identification.

Following is the control that refers to the image field (page = advertisement.aspx):

<asp:Image ID="Image" runat="server" ImageUrl ='<%#Eval("UserId","Image.aspx?UserId={0}") %>'

Following is the successful code behind for the page image.aspx referred to above (page = image.aspx.vb):
