Custom Server Controls :: Setting Image On Button Both Side?

I am creating new custom command button control derived from asp.net command button. In my custom control I want to set two images (i.e. one from left and one from right). In center command text will come. I tried background image property using css. But I won't work out for me. The image is coming left but the actual command button style is lost and the second problem is I could not able to set image on right side.

I am having a problem where my button click event is still firing even though my custom server-side validation is set to args.IsValid = false. I am debugging through the code and the validation is definitely being fired before the button click, and args.IsValid is definitely being set to false once the custom validation takes place, but it always makes its way to the button click event afterwards.

I've been trying to get a custom validator component working that ensures at least one checkbox from a checkboxlist has been checked. I've been used some code I found on dotnetjunkies.com but the client-side validation didn't work. I've been attempting to modify it to get the client-side javascript validation to work with no luck. Basically, I compile the below code into a DLL and add it to my bin folder.

I am trying to set a hidden type value to x on Server Side and then access it with Javascript. I have tried multiple ways to accomplish this.
At the basic level this is what I am trying to do.
Aspx page
<asp:HiddenField ID="HidRowNumber" runat="server" />
CS Page
In IsPostBack
HidRowNumber.Value = EFileRowNumber.Text;
Javscript
var status = document.getElementById("<%= HidRowNumber.ClientID %>").value;
When I am debugin it say it HidRowNumber's Value has changed to x but when I access the value with JS it always returns ''.

HOWTO create ASP.NET C# controls on server side for posted data that had no runat=server on the client.
I have processes needing to post files to a ASP.NET application. These processes must post without runat=server as such:
<form ~~~~ to some ASP.NET/C#/aspx page>
<input type=file name=MY_FILE ~~~>
</form>
On the ASP.NET page, in the Page_Load I would code somethign like this:

Here is the trick, the control "fileLIST_FILE" does not exist because the HTML does not have runat=server on it.
If the client did have runat=server the designer.cs would have somethign liek this:
System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlInputFile fileLIST_FILE;
With all that said, I want to make "fileLIST_FILE" on the fly inside Page_Load fromt he posted name of "MY_FILE".
do not focus on the fact that this is a file upload. I would like to know how to do this for any posted FORM data.

I have a simple HttpHandler that generates a dynamic image based on query string parameters and a custom web control that renders an image tag pointing to the handler as its 'src' attribute. All works fine when run in the web server, but at design timethe control displays as the "missing image" icon (red x in a box). The handler is registered in the web.config with a ".ashx" extension. I want to make a textbox with a specific style, within this style a set of images as background parts, how can i attach these images to the custom control as whenever i take the .dll file and add it to the toolbar the images do not appear. So i tried to make them as resource files and their property as embedded in .resx file, so how to make the css style background image url to be linked to any of those image.

I built a webcontrol showing a complex user interface with a lot of javascript. Basically my webcontrol is similar to : [URL]
Now that most the user interface is working properly, I'm stuck with the following issue: I want to add a button (html button tag) which has to trigger an event. I have been able to declare the event, the event args, the delegate,etc. The page using my control may assign a handler and that handler is called correctly when I explicitely call OnServerControlClick (The name I gave to the event). I cannot make the link between the button in the user interface and the event in the webcontrol source code. When the button is clicked, I get an error message saying a dangerous Request.Form value has been detected.

i've created a webform with one gridview having connected with the database using datasource. i.e password database with three colomn .
now want to insert the custom dropdown button using server control for each column.
when i select the dropdown list the list should display the value as required.
e.g if i click the uname dropdownlist then it should show the list of names.
if i click on pwd dropdownlist then it should show the list of numbers.
if i select any one of the value in the dropdown list then it should insert into the
database.
can i get code on this type of question...?

I'm new to .NET. I'm trying to create a button dynamically with event by original button. The original button's click event response creates a button. The new button has a click event attached with a test message.What I have to do is onclick change background color of dynamically created button and grab id value to delete when button delete is clicked. I have created a user control that has a gridview. During binding I set some common properties like height and width. To do so, I have created public properties. I have created the public property so that user can also set the height and width themselves. But if user didn't specify then I use my defaults.
My problem is that user settings are always overridden by my default settings. I want to set the default values as the control is rendered on the page and then if user apply his settings then it shold override. Which event/method is best on user control to jandle such scenario? Where should I write the code to call my default settings so that it is first thing that happens? What is the user control life cycle?

I created an image button in my header template. When clicked, it calls the Sorting method. When I change the image url in code behind, it does not render. By setting a break point, I can see the property being updated, but I assume it is getting overridden by the default I set in the HTML page.

I want to display an image on a page with Image control on it.
I know this is very simple but tweak in my case is that image is available as a stream variable (which I am getting as a response from one of the server) instead of physical file.
Eventually I want to create a control for this with some other feature on it.

I've created 2 web user controls. A = User control that displays an image, and B is the user control that hosts A. I'm trying to stream an array of bytes to A, but it seems like the Response.BinaryWrite method completely overwrites any heirachial controls (I can't see any of B's other controls besides the image).
How do I get A to just display the image from the byte stream? It doesn't come from a database, it's an image I created on the fly.
